You have Revised Edition which ends with the actual Gehenna and apocalypse.
You have New World of Darkness also called Chronicles of Darkness which takes place in an entirely new world with only 5 broad clans and different sects and different worlds. Which is what you are referring to.
You have V20 which basically says "Gehenna never happened or maybe it did but its not the apocalypse people predicted or maybe its still coming. We will let you decide instead of restricting your story. In general the setting is basically the same but with modern technology."
You have V5 Gehenna definitively didnt happen but around the same time you have the Second Inquisition fucking all vampires and Anarchs eclipsing the Camarilla and becoming all SJWs for some reason.

It could be best described as a soft-apocalypse or a cataclysm rather than the end of the world. A bunch of ancient vampires awakened driving many vamps crazy, most of the elders went in to hiding out of fear, the Sabbat (the anarcho-fascist-theocrat bad guys) are crusading against the ancients in the middle east now to stop the apocalypse/steal the power of the ancients for themselves.
Most of the tension/conflict comes from Camarilla and Anarch rivalry and the fact the government became aware of the existence of vampires during all this and have launched a secret inquisition against them.
It kind of works...but I hate what they did to the Sabbat.

The first and final vanilla outfits are fine imo, either go bare or full gimp imo. But the downtown and hollywood incomplete gimp suits are awful. The problem with terrible nosferatu mod is that those clothes are basically the skin of the nosferatu with changed texture and colours, it looks extremely tight-fitting in game.
