Bros, what is my excuse for not playing Guilty Gear now that they added rollback?

I don't like fighting games.
Because it's not Guilty Gear anymore.
It’s street fighter 5 with an airdash
Rollback won't save it. Rollback isn't that great. FGC has been complaining about netcode for ages and will continue to do so when retards who use wifi go online and ruin matchmaking anyway.
It's funny, people are already sucking Strive's dick just from this announcement but nothing else has been shown yet, meaning all of the other really fucking dumb gameplay mechanics and horrible UI might still be there.
Just say “no (insert waifu character here), no buy”.
>Rollback won't save it. Rollback isn't that great
Didn't everyone just BTFO in the last thread when you said bad delay connections were fine?
>and horrible UI might still be there.
They already said it has changed for this beta
maybe because its not out yet retard
The gameplay mechanics are good though. The actual issue is the core gameplay of no combos or Oki.
This, the gameplay looks linear and stale as fuck. They went out of their way to remove any excitement from the flow of a match. The devs know exactly what they're doing and they've been heading towards this direction for a while know, I don't care how fucking good the graphics or netcode are.
rollback is jarring, it's been a meme for over a decade. It still less than ideal. Just go outside and play offline like normal people
The mechanics are fine. The problem is the core is shit, simple combos, basic Oki, etc.
Daisuke has talked about these changes for a while, and he's just stuck between a rock and a hard place with the game. He knows nobody will buy old Guilty Gear, and he's right. It was either this or literally no game period.
There is just no room in the world for most fighting games these days unless it's like some licenced Naruto shit, or Tekken/SF, or shit that sells on meme appeal like ML/KI. Your average fighting game player is a boomer that's close to thirty or beyond. The genre is basically in its death throes.
and that's a good thing, Xrd might've still been guilty gear but it was a shitty guilty gear and outside of roster inferior to XX in every way. Reinventing the wheel is just what guilty gear needs
YRC allowed for ten times more improvisation and experimentation in pressure and setups. Also, neutral was far better.
>The genre is basically in its death throes.
It is amazing how a genre can be dying for 10 years, yet also manage to be in a better place than it was 10 years ago. More games, bigger tournaments, more people only even on PC and lots of games selling well. Games like Tekken even selling better than the last 2 entries.
Shame it is all going to die.
>More games.
Few good.
>Bigger tournaments
Why lie? Entrants peaked at 2016.
>Games selling well.
Not an indicator of the games being good or the scene being healthy.
Locals are drying up and it's moving towards bad online play, and games are having shit tons of input delay to added directly to the game to accomodate this. What you think fighting games are is really some eSports shitshow.
>developers knew what players wanted and made more of it
>but it was behind stupid problems like poor update structure or plagued with on disk dlc i know it wasnt that good anyway
>fighters now trying to reach ALL audiences with updates, even if dlc is still a bit of a problem
>HAVING CAKE AND EATING IT TOO HAS NEVER WORKED OUTSIDE A FREAK ACCIDENT WHY WOULD YOU TRY AGAIN?
people never learn
t. can't do frcs
if they're working on a rollback netcode, that means they're listening to the feedback, right?
that means it's still possible that they add back aerial combos, fix gatlings and remove/limit the wall break bullshit blazing, right?
I have no problem with FRCs though because they're easy. SDTH is harder than any FRC anyways.
>Few good.
cope
>Why lie? Entrants peaked at 2016.
wrong, even events like EVO grew despite SFV's failures
>Not an indicator of the games being good or the scene being healthy.
yeah I guess we are getting more games and games selling well cause less people are interested lmao
Devs were pandering 10 years ago as well retard
I don't understand the notion that somehow if we dumb down mechanics for the lowest common denominator that it'll boost sales and interest. We've been down this road already, the average player will not give two fucks about investing time and learning the game to competency, all it does is burden those who stick around and continue to support the game through dlc purchases, tournaments, ect. SFV, which sacrificed a lot for accessibility is losing to fucking Tekken and is only being kept afloat competitively by massive money pools set up by Capcom.
UNIST is also way bigger than shit like Blazblue Cross Tag Battle for a reason.
Business people simply don't learn or adapt. They just repeat what they read on their books.
All fighting games need for casuals is a shiny story mode.
As long as they can mash through story mode they're having fun. You really don't need to make your game easier to play since they'll drop the game in less than a month anyway.
Watch Woolie's video or, better yet, visit Azedev's channel.
The press release mentioned a UI change, and the beta is delay meaning this rollback change is pretty recent. It does seem like most stuff is on the table for what they are willing to change.
When's Cloudberry?
who???
>wrong, even events like EVO grew despite SFV's failures
Why do you lie like a faggot?
It peaked in 2016
forums.shoryuken.com
No point in addressing the other points if you lie like a dirty nigger
>2020
>Total Entrants: 0
That.
Rollback is the excuse. All of my desire to try this series just dissapeared, DBFZ is the only fighting game that doesn't have this shit that people play
I do play it, and if I like Strive around as much as I like Xrd I'll play that too.
Here's your problem:
You won't attract a new audience casualizing games and you won't attract a new audience keeping them the same
It's hilarious how hard DBFZ fell from grace, goes to show you can't sustain a population on branding and hype alone.
I actually lile BB's characters much more. Robo-Ky is the only good char in GG.
You don't play fighting games
Gameplay still looks worse than Xrd and XX.
Then someone is going to have to explain how in the fuck a game like Melee got enough numbers to stand with the big games in EVO while it was permitted. The key factor with any fighting game comes down to the grassroots and the scene they create. Money for tournament pots helps, but a sustainable audience can only be created by people legitimately enjoying what they're playing in the first place.
Zato-1 and Millia Rage will be revealed on Saturday at 9PM EST. Screencap this.
>what is my excuse for not playing Guilty Gear
I'm too white to get good at fighting games.
white bois can get good at guilty gear if they crossdress
What exciting character picks that I did not see coming
Adding females.
ok sleep fighter 5 player
Played all the capcom games online back in the kaillera days, SF4, UMvC3, DBFZ, and a few more that had netplay. I fucking despised SFV for it's rollback teleportation bullshit.
Evo entrants doesn't mean shit for a general audience.
Melee is a different group of retarded autists.
Funny how anyone that complains about rollback only cites SFV and completely ignores every other game with it where it works fantastically.
SFV's rollback sucks. KI, every fightcade game, Garou, Melty, Skullgirls and Them Fightin' Herds use it right.
And not one of those games are remotely good.
>completely ignores every other game with it
Wow... what could the reason possibly be? By the way, I don't play animeshit besides dragon ball which is what got me into it in the first place, but it seems that's going to be as far as I delve
You don't play fighting games
Tournament theatrics caused by large numbers helps out the community immensely in bringing in new sales/players. Players like Lil' Majin who bring hype and personality to sets does more for the genre than most advertising campaigns and Tekken 7's steady rise in popularity over the years shows it.
>what could the reason possibly be?
That you don't do your research and are either ignorant or just purposefully trying to get a rise out of people?
Your first two statements are not certainties and the sales added, although relative, are not guaranteed or large in number. Games have great finals all the time, tons of hype, and still don't sell.
>SF3 not good
>no neo geo KoF good
>Melty not good
it seems that you replied to my post by mistake, no worries as I agree with you
Leafs are good at GG, don't crossdress, and they're white.
so everyone says that SFV has worse rollback than other games, how is that possible? it's a method of synchronizing the game between two players, am I supposed to believe that other games with it have 50% less shitty rollback and are therefore tolerable to play?
that's like saying that you're given a controller made of decaying shit but this company made one that is 50% more sanitary
Give it to me straight boys, a delay would be a good thing wouldn't it?
Because they didn't design it to refresh the synchronization between the players as constantly as other games that use rollback and it resulted in the players becoming out of sync more often. There's a reason a fan was able to massively improve the netcode with like an hour of messing with the game's code.
Why don't you do your research before shitposting
dunno when does kof come out. this year?
Because my analogy is sick
man at this point I think XV is getting delayed too. We haven't seen shit outside the logo
may is pregnant
i can't debunk this since i refuse to touch anything with rollback so you win
not me
it's going to be shit anyway
