I played through 1 2 and 3 (straight) just recently and holy shit did CDPR casualize the shit out of 3. The combat was far better in the previous two and the foundation was better than all of them in 1.
The transition was litterally from soul -> soulless.
Playing them in a row you can see their effort and desire to get onto consoles - and further, you can see how devs view console players.
Witcher 1 mechanics with 2 difficulty and 3 story telling would be peak gaming.
