I noticed Code Vein was on sale; but I'm not sure if I want to buy it yet.
My main question is: Can this be played fully in co-op with a friend from beginning to end? Will the co-op partner receive progress too? Or is it more like dark souls where the people you summon need to progress pretty far in their own game to get matched up with you.
No. The co-op works exactly like it does on the Dark Souls games: progress only for the host, the visitor goes back to his / her world when the area's boss is defeated. Haven't checked how the co-op matching works. That said, the co-op has a problem: it's region locked so your friend and you won't be able to play unless they're on the same country.
I'll be blunt here: don't bother with Code Vein if you want something like Dark Souls. Vein is a shorter, barebones game compared to From Software's games.
>Can this be played fully in co-op with a friend from beginning to end? No. Co-op partner can't even be summoned unless they've cleared that zones boss.
Character creator is the dopest shit though, and if you're a weeb it is the most kino chuuni experience outside of a licensed anime game possible.
Anthony Brown
I played all sous games, CV is better *dab*
Chase Price
Is this game good though? I'm pirating it now.
Brandon Nelson
No, co-op is exactly like souls games, it's shit and only the host progresses. However It's the most weeb chuuni overload soulslike game there will ever be and it's fun, so play it
Robert Jenkins
Build autism is fun. Environments are barebone. I personally like it more than Dark Souls just based on gameplay, but it depends on person to person.
Mason James
started the game yesterday i think i took over 2 hours on character creation
would have like to beable to make each eye different sizes tho and they didnt have a color pallette for the white portion of the eyeball like they did for EVERYTHING else
Dylan Lee
Depends. If you're a Soulsborne fan and want something like it, no. If you're just a fan of action RPG with a dash of anime and want to play a casual one, go ahead.
Oliver Hall
There are a lot of weird design choices in the character creation. The amount of people I've seen trying to play it exactly like Souls disappoints me to no end.
Andrew Williams
I hear they increased the amount of cosmetics you could have, but did they ever add an option to hide the blood veils?
Seems a waste to invest so much time in making your perfect character only to have them covered up by a drab military jacket the moment you go into the field.
Cameron Rodriguez
Don't ask questions Just cast buffs Then kill enemies to cast even more buffs
They added making the blood veils invisible on the last update. I personally keep it visible because I think the veil is part of the character's aesthetic.
You can now, yes. They have also added a photo mode that also functions as a pause button when you aren't co-operating with someone.
Leo Mitchell
Well that's great, those were 2 of my biggest gripes when I was playing the network test, and the character size was 3rd which I know they modified as well. Hopefully the game hits a reasonable price in the near future.
Xavier Perez
If only the DLCs were reasonably priced...
Zachary Bailey
Reminder that Io is the most wholesome girl in any Souls game
Ryan Johnson
It is incredible how hard they pushed Mia in the promotional material (she's the pre-order PS4 theme, on the game's cover, and gets crazy screentime in the anime intro) and everyone clung to the titcow instead.
If ya'll did the same with Tales of Zestiria and Rose, that one dude might still have a job lmfao
Carter Rodriguez
It's fun, but not good.
Landon Lopez
>everyone clung to the titcow instead I realize that the address says "4channel" now, but this should not be news.
Jaxson Long
No, it's good.
Wyatt Edwards
reminder that io is fucking dead in a forced bullshit ending
David Cruz
So aside from the bat/catwoman mob, and the white "armored" boss of the network test, how many fapbait enemy designs are in the finished product?
Robert Phillips
>Girl who supports you from the start of the game, talks to you about how she feels, genuinely loves you, is one of the best companions in the game, has two songs about how much she cares about you, and is the only one who either does everything she can to stay by your side or give you a better life vs >Girl who shows up, attacks you, sucks at fighting, is largely irrelevant to the story, and cares more about her brother than you I honestly don't know what they were expecting
Blake Miller
>Successor of the Claw >Wet Stripper Hatsune Miku >Maybe the Butterfly if you're into that sort of thing
Cooper Butler
how bout choose the girl that isn't forced to die in all the endings with some forced "bittersweet" bullshit? lmao
Nathan Ramirez
>if you're into that sort of thing Well that's just dangling crack in front of an addict...
You know I'd have to search that up as fast as possible to find out what kind of kinky shit you're talkin about.
Caleb Powell
I have a picture of her right here. It's more that she's really fucking annoying to fight.
If only the DLCs weren’t fucking depths levels or near equivalents to the depths. I guess it’s better than strictly cosmetic DLC, but I was expecting more expansions to the storyline.
Adrian Gray
I wish we had more armor options like water stripper Miku. Even if it wasn’t skinny armor. The whole carapace/organic aesthetic could be amazing if the right customization options were added in.
Caleb Morales
If anything, I wish the Depths were at least like the DLC depths. They're so boring, level design wise. Even the DLC minibosses have more interesting arenas.
Hunter Garcia
You can at least get the mods for it
Jackson Hernandez
Can someone help me bully the Skull King? No one has reply to my help request.
Caleb Barnes
What system are you on, user?
Zachary Davis
PC
Jacob Foster
Ah damn, I'm PS4. You can always ask the Code Vein general on /vg/, but that place is rather autistic if you aren't used to it.
Hunter Harris
>Code vein on sale Where
Oliver Morales
Thanks for the offer anyway. I'm a bit tired so I'll call it a night.
I hate new versions of Code Vein. They nerfed Final Journey
Final Journey was the shit and then it was less OP. I liked the OP.
Owen Lee
Absolutely not
Gavin Sanchez
You can still be super OP, user. You just have to be more creative
Samuel Price
>finished it once >thought it was ok but could use some improvement >instead of adding cool stuff or improving on the base game, the DLC has been absolute garbage so far
Glad I didn't buy the season pass.
Chase Jones
Hellfire Knight was an all right boss, but Frozen Empress can fuck right off
Isaac Fisher
Final Journey's an easy way to do 1HKs.
Nathan Lopez
I still don't have that last gift for Ymir.
Asher Ross
The dodging one? I was somehow able to get it on my first try.
Nicholas Bell
I played the demo and was instantly turned off by the character customization with all the outfits being presets. Was that just a demo thing? That and the demo level doing the FFXIII “railed off linear path suspended in space” design
Anthony Cox
Don’t fall for the meme. It’s just as bad as Lords of the Fallen
Grayson Phillips
Absolutely not. CV is nowhere near Dark Souls, but it's still miles above Lords of the Fallen
Matthew Brooks
Someone who says this clearly played neither.
Ian Edwards
not sure if they updated but enjoy your 3 minute Final Journey
>CV is nowhere near Dark Souls It's much better than Dark Souls, but so are like 10 other similar games. I don't know who can even stomach playing that slow clunky turd in 2020, even if you're a fromsoft shill you still have Bloodborne and Sekiro which are vastly superior.
Landon Fisher
When I say Dark Souls, I mean the franchise as a whole
Andrew Ramirez
>Hellfire Knight kicked my ass >beat Frozen Empress first try with no resurrects Also holy shit the season pass is bad, all three levels together would be worth $10 but they decided to ask that for each of them.
Frozen Empress is a fucking bitch to complete the challenges for. I got the Hellfire Pipe against a +10 HFK, but I had to resort to cheesing the Empress to death the get the ice pipe
