The issue here is that the sentiment from the context of that knowledge of his behavior isn't "It is OK to feel frustrated for a Loss because it gives motivation to do better and proves you care about improving", it is "It is okay to destroy things out of anger and harass the people who won against you."

There is a distinct difference between recognising you made mistakes and being able to analyse where you went wrong to be able to improve, and acting like an idiot, expressing untenable anger and outright overreacting to losing in a video game. Sure, in the end as long as the goal is to improve at the game or whatever it is then the outcome is the same, but it is a trait of a weak mind to be flung to extremes over something as trivial as a videogame. It's pathetic when pros do it, it's pathetic when pubstars do it. Maybe I'm in the minority, growing up my pads were always in pristine condition -- Everyone else I knew or met had at least one damaged controller due to raging out.
The saddest truth is the main people get furious when they lose is because they think they are objectively better than they are. The surprise at how wrong the game proves they are leaves them no recourse other than to freak out.

this would be true with something like sports, a real life craft, or chess. IE something tactile. but not with video games. with video games there is nothing to improve. they in no way shape you into a better person. they are built to waste your time. taking the time to improve at them is just taking the time to get better at wasting time. with sports you improve your body and preform better, with something like chess or a craft you improve your mind. what do you improve with video games? nothing. you get fatter and lazier, and with that mindset, angrier over something that doesn't do anything for you but waste your limited time. the truth is that getting involved with video games beyond anything more than a trivial level shows a weak and simple mind and body.
