I think Microsoft lacks focus. They could had keep their lead over the ps3 and go into the next generation on equal terms with Sony (in terms of brand strength). Instead, they decided to stop putting as much resources on developing exclusives for hardcore audiences and went full kinect, blinded by its initial success.
