Alright Yas Forums, be honest here. What are your chances at getting through all of the above scenarios alive and more or less intact?
Silent Hill
Bump
Amnesia would easy since I'm not a sissy faggot who faints because of the dark. The enemies are slow and dumb as fuck too, wouldn't bother hiding, I could literally run circles around all of them.
Slender has too much RNG to be a guaranteed win, rest of the games seem like a death sentence desu.
>Amnesia would easy since I'm not a sissy faggot who faints because of the dark. The enemies are slow and dumb as fuck too, wouldn't bother hiding, I could literally run circles around all of them.
Most of the woods outside the castle are crawling with Grunts, who are speedier than you give them credit. You'd probably get run down. Assuming the Shadow doesn't get you first.
Like 1% on my best day.
1% is infinitely better than 0.
OP is talking about us going through the game campaigns, not extended universe autism.
None of that is anything from any extended universe. It's explicit that Alexander sent his Grunts out to capture people in the countryside surrounding the castle to acquire more Vitae for himself. On top of that, the Shadow is literally right outside of the castle proper, judging by the roars, shaking, and the fleshy residue it leaves.
The only "extended universe" stuff is A Machine For Pigs, which is a whole 'nother kettle of fish.
The first time I saw a grunts face up close in game I absolutely shit myself.
I don't know how I'd react to being in any of those scenarios but I doubt I'd be capable of handling myself in most of them. I think SOMA is worth being on that list too, the deep sea walk section is the kind of thing where the more you think about being in that scenario the scarier it becomes, I doubt I'd even be able to take the first step out of the elevator.
Why is any of this relevant? You don't go the forest in the game. OP asked how we would fair against the campaign of the fucking game, going through the objectives, puzzles and enemy counters depicted within the game.
Dead space marker drives you insane. Evil within doodad drives you insane as well.
I don't think my brain is special enough to deal with marker shenanigans.
>Dead Space
0. I'm in fucking space, and more than half of the shit I'll run into will turn me into actual mincemeat.
Yeah because you would totally be this brave if your actual life was on the line and you can't just load whenever you die.
Idiot.
I'm playing Condemned RIGHT NOW and I can barely make it through even though I'm not in the game. I scared like a BITCH. Put me in there for reals and I'd just kill myself.
>OP asked how we would fair against the campaign of the fucking game
That's not really stated anywhere in the OP. It's implied at most. Either way, it's just something to point out.
On top of that, evading the monsters or running circles around them isn't that likely. The Gatherers are only slow when in close proximity, and can easily close the distance otherwise. And if a Brute is close enough for an attack, you're already dead anyways.
And unless you're particularly clever, fast or the Shadow is feeling merciful, you'll probably get eaten by it during its major chase sequences.
Grunts aren't the only enemies in the game, faggot.
Life on the line or not, you'd have to be a fucking bitch to faint because of the dark.
>I'm in fucking space
That's another thing. I probably wouldn't even know how to operate half the shit i'd need to make it. No flying the shuttle or especially fixing the systems. Would probably break my arm trying to figure out the kenisis module.
They're just as slow.
>And unless you're particularly clever, fast or the Shadow is feeling merciful, you'll probably get eaten by it during its major chase sequences.
Daniel moves slow as fuck and he was able to outrun the generic unimaginative boring wall of death. I'd leave it in the fucking dust.
>Siren
pretty much guaranteed to die
siren is probably the best world for a chance of survival
least paranormal stuff happening
Being afraid of the dark and being afraid of the dark in a spooky ass castle crawling with spooky ass monsters aren't comparable. Also the protagonist is literally suffering from amnesia, it's in the damn title lol. Whatever Churchill quote you would've thought of to boost your morale you wouldn't remember.
Have you played this faggy overrated piece of shit game? You have a sanity meter and if you wait in darkness for too long your character fucking faints. If you look at a monster for too long you faint. The entire game is ridiculous, dealing with the puzzles, monsters and level design IRL would be trivial.
>least paranormal stuff happening
>world where demonic skyfish and ancient evil gods are a semi-regular occurrence
>"least paranormal."
No.
On top of that, Siren is probably one of the more awful places to be. Most of the others would just kill you. Siren is an active fate worse than death if you have even the tiniest wound and you're in an open space for too long, or any Shibito catches you.
Stop worrying. Just Make Us Whole and it'll all be fine.
I don't know exactly how amnesia works, but I know people aren't born brave; they gain courage by looking their fears in the eyes. If you can't remember your experiences then how could you be courageous? You would pretty much be a newborn baby, and it's normal for a baby to be uncontrollably afraid of the dark.
You don't remember specifics, but you don't lose your personality or your skills.
Make us whole was an isaac specific thing. All the posters itt would just become part of the goo all around the area.
Even still, you've never been in Daniel's situation. You can't judge him. I don't know if I would faint, but I would definitely shit myself 24/7.
>Silent Hill
Depends on what I'd encounter. I actually suffer from diagnosed anxiety
>Amnesia
...I have a slightly easier time than Daniel does. Mostly because I possess the rational thought to fight back against the Grunts and Brutes. There's plenty of crap lying around I could weaponize.
>thinks he can beat a grunt or brute
>with random junk
Grunts and Brutes can destroy metal doors with ease. Besides, I doubt you can actually kill them unless you throw them into lava or something.
>Siren
I find its world rather compelling but alas I don't have neither hardware nor the courage to play it right now, is there a good playthrough maybe from someone who can respect the scare factor?
Dead Space is not that hard since Isaac is just some fucked up engi and managed to survive using basic mining tech
Strength and durability aren't directly linked. There's no evidence to suggest that their flesh can't be cut or damaged. If I found a knife or something of that sort.
Also, they've got plenty of week points on their bodies.
Why the fuck did I spell weak as week. I think it's because I'm tired as fuck right now.
If you're close enough to get within range of a Brute to hit one, you are already fucked.
If they can destroy metal doors without breaking their bones it definitely implies they're durable.
Bones, yes. Flesh and muscles are another story.
Who said I was going to get into close range?
Can fire hurt them?that could be a way of killing them
What are you going to do then? Throw the knife at them?
>They're just as slow.
Brutes are actually slightly faster than Daniel IIRC.
>Daniel moves slow as fuck and he was able to outrun the generic unimaginative boring wall of death. I'd leave it in the fucking dust
Most horror pprotagonists are ludicrously slow, keep in mind. Of note, Siren's are slow as fuck. Doesn't change the fact that if any of us got slotted into their place, the Shibito would kill the shit out of us.
Only a handful of horror games have notably fast main characters, and those tend to be some degree of superhuman to begin with. And in most horror scenarios, running won't do shit.
Grunts have huge claws and Brutes have a machete for an arm, combine that with their supers strength and you tell me how you're gonna kill them when one swipe will cut your body in twain?
Not exactly. Now that I think about it, the best strategy is "Stun/stagger them with a thrown heavy object to the head, then rush in and wound them with a sharp object in the few precious moments I have"
I'd just have to repeat this for a bit until I could at least incapacitate it.
Many Shibito's were equipped with firearms and were in large numbers in small tight spaces. The Amnesia monsters are few and far between, in mostly wipe open spaces with plenty of places to play ring and the rosy. In Amnesia's case, being able to move at a non-subhuman pace makes everything a joke.
Okay, say you've put a grunt on fire, then what? Fire doesn't kill instantly, so it will probably set the whole castle on fire.
Slender, I'd go home. Later fags.
Brutes have a head that is just a giant mouth, how would you throwing something heavy at it stun it and not piss it off?
>Silent Hill
Might be able to do it. Big might though.
>Fatal Frame
If I was a cute girl anything would be possible.
>Siren
Deader than disco.
>RE
Like, I can handle the slow ass zombies but If I get into a QTE with Krauser, bye bye.
>Evil Within
Never played
>Amnesia
Either kill myself or lose my mind and then kill myself.
>Dreadout
Never player.
>SCP
Would die before I could kill myself.
>Dead Space
Maybe have a chance if I had proper combat training. I mean super armor and laser weapons do most of the work anyway.
>Slender
Kill self or join the slender cult.
>World of Horr
Never played.
I have thrown many objects at the enemies and they are always completely unaffected, therefore canonically they cannot be stunned with your tactic imo.
or have a mental illness which makes you panic in dark areas (which the protag has)
he's a completely fucked up person with a broken psyche, and also drugged as fuck
They're stunned by particularly heavy thrown objects, but only for like a fraction of a second.
Actually, now that you say that, that mouth is probably a good weak point. The Gatherers are strong, yes, but not unstoppable. Given the
He'd literally just follow you. Slender is by far one of the most impossible to survive scenarios here.
I see, it's been a long time.
Wellll....
Unless you're this guy.
If I'm recalling 2 correctly, then Otoshigo would also regularly pull a submachine gun out of his ass and go around indiscriminately murdering everything.
I would do really well in a horror scenario where I can just shoot bad things to live. I'd do poorly in everything else.
In all honesty, this sonuvabitch would probably win in every single scenario here
Assuming I can have the same equipment as the protagonist of each? All the paranormal ones are too spooky for me, so I think I'll pass, maybe I'll try for a bit but if things become too much I'll end up killing myself or something. Resident Evil verse is a little better, though I would probably get destroyed by the first special B.O.W I encounter unless I got a shotgun or something, depends on the game though. Now, if we talk about finishing the game's story, as in, me replacing Chris Redfield in 5, well, I think I'm pretty fucked.
Dead Space is another one that I might be able to survive for some time if I have any of the game's weapons, but I would end up dead before finishing the story.
