Gave this pile of garbage a shot the other day. I actually kinda liked the intro story for the Knight. Chivalry and all that.

Then I got disconnected during the intro cutscene.

Game proceeded to disconnect me every 20 minutes, usually in the middle of a story event that forced me to start over.

Stopped bothering after that. Such a shame; I kind of liked the combat.

Holy shit i really did dodge a bullet then, i was in one of the beta test, i enjoyed making my little characters and beating some bosses i even made a mega man t shirt with the clothes editor, it was fun until a bunch of rping fags started getting annoying so i never tried out the final release of the game

I played the beta more than the actual release, but it's still surprising to see this. The endgame was so annoying, but I loved the extent of its user generated content. It could have been amazing.

Same here, I played around October-March 2018-2019. Well a bit more than 2 months. Had a lot of fun, I always planned to go back to it one day. MMOs I played getting shut down always stings a bit, even if I don't play them anymore.

Mabinogi still has a ton of whales so it’s fine for now. Also after years of people asking they merged the servers and added name changes.

It was pretty shit. I won't mourn it.

It had chaos raids when I last played but they had stupid rng on equipment you got and to reroll for the effects of the gear you had to do rep grind.

The game was a huge blunder but I can't help but feel sad since I think it had a lot of potential, kind of like Tree of Savior.

Fuck. I liked it but I stopped playing shortly after release. Had it on the back burner for forever, always thought I'd go back to it. Maybe I'll play a bit before it shuts down. Or maybe it's best to just forget about it and not risk getting attached to a game that is ending.

Maple story is hot trash and the only reason it’s still alive is because of the first
big 2-D mmo. LaTale is way better.

It came out in Korea in 2014 and finally made its way to US in 2018.

Because Nexon is incompetent and player base is retarded. The player base detested whales and their ability to skew the game in their favor, but what the player base forgot is that whales carry nexon games. They carry vindictus, ms1, DFO before the switch, etc.. so if Nexon can’t get any new players willing to spend money, and listens to their community and all of their wishes, then the whales have no incentive to spend money. Pair that with a game that has a fundamentally flawed grinding and leveling system, a far too complex gear system, and you get one of a Nexons most failed projects of all time. KMS2 and CMS2 are both fine though, and making tons of money for the company.

Retards just rushed to endgame and grinding. I mostly explored the maps and got a ton of stars when I played.

Not unexpected, but still a bit sad. I waited years for this to get brought overseas and had a really good time in the first CBT and for about a month after it released.
Though overall disappointing, I feel like it could have been salvaged had Nexon just cared more. What a shame.
But maybe they deserve it for making Jodi's voice so fucking terrible.

I played it and felt like I was playing a private server rather than the real thing. Just ignored 90% of the game and rushed to endgame while having my hand held by a totally on-rails experience. Why the fuck did they not think this would fail? Why even bother with everything else if you don't allow players to explore it?

Just because other MMOs do it doesn't make it ok. In fact that's probably one of the reasons why a lot of people hate MMORPG end game nowaday.

Plus, there were a LOT of combined reasons why said daily/weekly limits were so bad.
First off, the "Main questline" could be finished in 8 hours or so because of how accelerated they made leveling, so the vast majority of your time was gated behind said limits. Other MMORPGS at least take much longer to reach the end game point which appeases most players.
Secondly basically EVERYTHING progression related was tied behind said limits, including dungeons, daily quests, ways to make money, etc. The only real forms of progression that weren't tied to it were grinding for pets and gem grinding. Most other MMORPGs probably have at least three times as many things to do at least.
Next was the fact that progression was incredibly RNG, mostly because of the remnants of the old P2W system. Outside of horrible P2W games where they make progression horrible for the purpose of trying to swindle money out of you, I don't think any MMORPG is even close to how random progression was in MS2
Combine that with the massive amount of anxiety everyone was getting after the first chaos raid was released, and you just have a perfect formula for making everyone burnout and hate the game.
