Every time there's a new Sonic game released, people shit on it drastically. I have noticed that people tend to shit on 3D Sonic for no reason, that was until I played Sonic Forces.

You have a plot where all the Sonic cast is called to fight in some sort of world war bullshit.
You can play with Modern Sonic and Classic Sonic, but you can't play with Shadow, Silver, Knuckles, Amy, Espio, Tails, et all? You instead play the majority of the game with an OC that as a really assbackwards moving?
Fuck, man. Lost World wasn't that bad, Generations was really good, Unleashed is legit and 06 is really bad, I give you that, but that game is broken.

That is a horribly underwhelming title.

SEGA should take some cues from Sonic Robo Blast 2. It's a 3D Sonic game that's actually pretty good. Just a fangame, but it has 6 whole zones and the level design is real nice, and legitimately fucking impressive considering it's running on the original legacy Doom engine. The new Version 2.2 has REALLY cool gimmicks all executed using linedef command combinations.

The wide majority of those games are mediocre. SA1 and SA2 are pretty decent, marred by some questionable decisions. Unleashed was fun and should've been the gold standard for other boost games (but wasn't). The Storybook Games had good stories but their gameplay was unbearable. Everything else was trash.
I guess the handheld games were good at least

Too bad Sega had to put it down violently, and it was right in the middle of their "Let's make everybody as shiny and plastic as possible" phase (although it's not as bad as Heroes or Shadow in that regard)
