One Way Heroics thread 2! We had a thread a couple days ago, now I'm excited to see if we can pull it off again. Today's seed is COVID, all caps. I've scoped it out a bit, there's a lot of towns. VERY forgiving start.
> what the fuck is this? A fun little roguelike with simple systems explored to their fullest. Has asynchronous online features. Shocking amount of content and playtime if it's your kind of game. Goes on sale for extremely cheap. Will teach you the meaning of SOUL. > it has DLC? Even cheaper than the main game, with additions of the same quality as the main game if not better. > what's the online like? You see the name, class, perks, and status of other players on the same world seed as you along the left edge of the screen. When they die or win, they leave behind a ghost that gives you an EXP boost and leaves behind one of their items, often mildly to extremely useful. Also, we can talk about the same terrain features and warn each other about upcoming bullshit like bad terrain, and generally talk about our experiences.
Please don't let the thread die. Is it because my OP makes this look like a general? Is literally nobody who was around the other day here now? Fuck.
Elijah Ortiz
I'll play if the thread is still alive when I get back.
Joseph Sanchez
Reminds me of Kingsway
Carter Long
Eh, kind of? Kingsway went the FTL route with "nodes" you go between if I remember right, One Way Heroics is a more continuous world. But you're right in an interesting way, OWH does have an early-style PC flair to it.
damn I remember playing this game like 5 years ago. Good to see people still playing it.
Thomas Torres
Goddamn adventurer was not at all my style. Guess I'll go for an unlock quest as an easier class. Swordmaster maybe?
Nicholas Phillips
Swordmaster is probably the easiest.
Caleb Mitchell
You're both welcome to join in. I don't know what made the user who started that thread a few days ago decide to do it, but it was surprisingly fun to play with Yas Forums.
Oh shit, I just realized Ninjas get +1 on default throwing range.
Brayden Wood
Nevermind, I was just wearing a previously unidentified Hunter's Clothing. And here I thought Ninjas were good for a moment.
Ayden Foster
Aww, oh well. Thread might stay up long enough for you to make it home. I don't know anything about ninja, I'm literally trying to unlock it right now, but... seriously? What's their benefit supposed to be, then? Throwing range would make plenty of sense.
Isaac Watson
>meet another Aria >still too retarded to learn anything
They get "powerful skills that cost max stats", but those skills generally kind of just suck. They're like a more combat focused adventurer, I guess, but they don't learn Shadow Bind which means they suck.
IIRC, Hunters get the default +1 throwing range, but it's been a while. Might be wrong.
Jonathan Watson
The first game was god tier, i don't understand how they could fuck up the second game. The second game is the definition of soulless sequel they had no fucking idea of what made the first game so good, and the all the characters together were the definition of generic anime like character meanwhile all the characters in the first game were quite charming.
Adrian Allen
The second game wasn't a sequel, it was a spinoff with another series. The other series' style with vaguely OWH gameplay pasted on top.
Gabriel Richardson
I wish Aria could teach me to be not retarded before trying to teach me Force spells.
That was what struck me when I went through the first time. I'd thought they would just be Arias for me, I've seen NPCs get rerolled per run. Apparently not?
Nicholas Green
Holy shit user pick up a book that's if your character even knows how to read or what's a book.
Lucas Rodriguez
I see now, it makes sense.
Carson Hughes
4 Max ST to escape a fire breathing imp. It's okay, I guess.
You mean it improves it? We're on Yas Forums, you fucking retard. Someone's going to come in here and post that retarded "ONLY X BOARDS ARE EXPLICITLY ANIME!" image but 99% of the time when someone says "weebshit" it's actually "stuff the board loves".
Robert White
That UI looks cluttered.
William Brown
> a border in the middle of a fucking monster-infested fortress props for dedication I guess?
He's in a dialog box and using an option that puts his HP and stuff further up than normal.
Justin Martinez
Shit, forgot image But this one's better anyway. Fucking crystal of endurance as a souvenir. Foreign country is rich, guys.
>he still thinks Yas Forums is a cool kids club to talk about lame jap shit enjoy your sunk cost fallacy lmao
David Lewis
>tfw Chronos just asks me to save instead You can tell them to fuck off and you'll only get divine protections, but I don't think it actually affects how often you get that, it just stops you from getting save prompts.
John Richardson
> lame jap shit and that's how I know you don't belong here. Yas Forums is probably going to be your kind of place someday, but that's not today. Your loss for not playing a great game because oh no, the characters aren't fucking shambling goblinoid horrors.
James Bennett
This was a fun game, I enjoyed all of the extras it had such as Dosey's ending changing a bit, or a lot depending on if you beat the game before or after that event happens, or if you have a certain item in your inventory, or what happens if you break into one of the shrines while you have the secret party member in your team
Zachary Kelly
How could this game have every girl be best girl? Dosey, Sarah, Mia.
>or what happens if you break into one of the shrines while you have the secret party member in your team I don't remember that and i cleared it 100% dlc included.
Landon Thompson
Your sacrifice will not be forgotten, random skill trainer.
Demon Shrines buffs Demon Lord when you open them, and fortunately that carries on even when they've joined your party
Though having said that, I'm disappointed the ending for reaching 2k in the Dimensional Passageway doesn't acknowledge your party members, especially since I'd brought Frieda and Demon Lord with me
Cooper Evans
Oh fuck, I didn't find enough fruits for her events. Gonna have to put this dog wife down.
I didn't know you could fail to do that. Oh well...
Nathan Perry
In hindsight, I might have gotten the prompt for the buddy tablet dialogue before this, but didn't notice if it happened when I was running from the demon lord/mini bosses. Too late to check.
Logan Roberts
Energy overflow x2 combo It's a shame I decided to go with the Ninja unlock quest, I totally could've gone for the end of the world at this rate.
