But I already own it on Switch

Also, it's not like I expect the NPCs from all games to be Falcom tier, but this one just has a bunch of them repeating themselves from one you talked to even in the same area.

i don't think being portable is enough of a tradeoff when the pc version is doing 120 fps/4k

Is anyone else having trouble getting the PC version to detect their controller? I'm just using a 360 controller so I don't understand the issue.

the english vo is so bad

>They brought back this fucker

Legend of Mana remake confirmed?

Attached: ETUC6xRXYAEY_CG.jpg (1920x1080, 815.51K)

That's the same as the SNES version. But this is a remake so there's no need to do the exact same thing as the original version

Mine is working fine, no recognition issues. Try re-starting the game with the controller already plugged in.

>combat is basic as hell
>animations are fucking terrible and stiff for most of the part
>abhorrent dub
And here I was hoping it'd be a huge improvement from SoM. Welp, game is shit since there are a ton of issues and only a month to release.

Can you reallocate training points or is it locked in once you spend it?
If it locks in I'll just save for a bit

Combat is super basic, the graphics are barely a step up from mobile tier and the english VO is fucking awful (which is really disappointing since Squeenix has really stepped up their game with english dubs this gen). It just looks and feels like a really cheap thrown together game, which is a shame considering how the original, for its time, was so gorgeous and so ambitious.

theres an item to reset it later but yea its locked in for the most part

>Can still find the naughty novel in books available to read on Duran's town
Hah. Now i'm hoping they kept Angela teasing him about potentially hiding porn books in his house.

Guess I'm getting it on PC.

Is Charlotte mentally retarded? Her dialogue makes me think so.

using the old music is giving me huge nostalgia.
also loving the 3 movement speeds, and charlotte has a surprising amount of butt attacks.
i wish the full version released right now. could probably get lost in this

was watching this and riesz is running around but it looks like her hair is a flat texture that bobs up and down? around 10 min mark. like it's not really a polygon, just a flat 2d texture they animated poorly

Pretty sure she doesn't talk like that in the original. She was annoying, but didn't have that stupid child-speech.

it's feeling pretty soulless (excuse the buzzword, but it's apt) compared to the original, but I got to hear my favorite track arranged and it's pretty good. I'm mainly looking forward to just hearing the music.

Attached: riesz.png (150x150, 32.05K)

Looks good but why does it feel so clunky to move around and fight?
Also the switch version ends up having thick outlines and blurry everything else for models which I hate.

>Angela's slap doesn't send me flying across the room as mach speed
Well at least it knocks you out.

She speaks only using some beginner level alphabet in Japanese I believe. Somehow they think that translates into speaking like an idiot.

I get it. I know what her problem is
This girl needs to get impregnated

Attached: angela.jpg (1920x6472, 2.24M)

i think the fan translation most people played just had her speak normally but still like a child

The arranged soundtrack is good, that's basically the only nice thing I have to say about this remake. Everything else about it, the graphics, the gameplay, the dub, is all about a decade or longer in the past and just feels cheap, like this was quickly pushed out to make a buck and they didn't give a shit.
It's a step up from the Secret of Mana remake, but not a very big step.

Well, at least Ys VIII now has a good PC port. Go play the better action RPG, folks.

Attached: 20200217170340_1.jpg (1920x1080, 465.88K)

I'll pirate it though, hope you're alright with that

I like the little treasures scattered around the city if you explore.
Combat is certainly not Ys level at least, fairly slow, but also somewhat enjoyable in a way?
The one thing i'd complain about the most are the overdone animations really. Some characters "act" way too hard at simple gestures.

I know Snes is a terrible thing to assume off of sprites, but I always thought this guy looked like some old wise wolf-man in it. Now He looks like some stud bishonen.

Attached: Wolf man.jpg (1920x1080, 607.84K)

I'm torn on that. On one hand, NISA are a bunch of royal fuckups and took ages to get this port a decent treatment. On the other hand, Durante's techno-wizardry is totally worth your money.

Oh, and you can play Ys VIII co-op on PC! Can't do that with Trials of Mana... for some reason.

Attached: 20200117190345_1.jpg (1920x1080, 452.99K)

>somewhat enjoyable in a way?
It's not the worst I've ever played or anything and it's not like the original's gameplay was super involved. I just expected a little more from it seeing as it's a $50 remake.

no multiplayer no buy

Yea no, I'll pirate it user

>Angelas VA is the same as Liz
I NEED DOUJINS SOON

>Shopkeeper doesn't keep dancing like he's hyper while you purchase stuff from him, or talk to him

ITT boomers discover nostalgia googles

game was always sub-par

>he does it for free

The werewolf form on the regular grunts is way too cute looking. It's like musclebound werewolf with a baby face.

I don't think anyone ever denied that, the was a bug riddled mess, but it was still fun anyway.
That doesn't really excuse the combat system being so slow in the remake however.

I'm just going to enjoy both games instead of trying to start a fanbase war

Attached: laxia3.png (497x569, 640.37K)

It was a solid 8/10 for its time. The graphics, co-op, and replay value of the game make it stand out.

I don't think anyone's trying to start a fanbase war. It's just a shame that a game with an ostensibly higher budget fails to live up to cheap weeb shit made by like 50-something people.

What a bitch.

My waifu bitch.

If the kiss is supposed to happen here, they cut it.

Man, this game just doesn't have the same visual charm as something like Ni no Kuni II or DQXI.

Attached: 20180325091416_1.jpg (1920x1080, 626.46K)

Mana was always a terrible series.

Which Ys was the one with the girl who had twintails and poofy pants? Was it any good? She looked cute to me.

So this is just a blatant Ys copy?

Oils are still in, so I guess the black market will be too. Although, If it keeps being this easy, I don't see myself using items much.

That's nothing new. Just because it's Square Enix working on it, doesn't mean they can't be cheap fucks

Attached: Oil up.jpg (1920x1080, 514.16K)

No it's way later.

To be fair, Ys VIII was somewhat of a miracle coming out of modern Falcom.

Needs a difficulty where you die in like 3 hits to make this challenging at all it seems.
Or way more aggressive enemies later in the game

>all the hype dead because game is subpar
It was good while it lasted. The models will be ripped and porn made

They still make good stuff honestly, Celceta was super meh, but 7 was fun, and likewise, Ys 9 was also pretty good. Cs3 was alright, but Cs4 did some stupid twists in the story, but Hajimari looks to like it might be bringing in some good stuff, especially since no bonding events.

Either way, the remake for Seiken 3 is fairly slow in the combat, but it's still rather enjoyable. The main issue is that it's way too fucking easy so far.

Is there online co-op and can you switch to jp voices?

There's no co-op at all and yes,

The fairy has some nice feet! Day 1 buy

Fuck Ys VIII was so good, and Dana was actually a good character. I'm a sucker for Gilligan's Island genre shit.

Fuck off, they're both good.

Why not just make an Ys thread so I can have somewhere to talk about them for once

It has romance so no. It isn't nearly as gay as Ys.

So, my impression was:

Good
>Good QoL changes, like increasing level for the seed pot to get better stuff more consistently as your progress through the game
>Magic doesn't stop the game dead in it's tracks and you can lower animation length for skills
>Small combos to make depending on what's needed, charge attacks, quick access menus for certain skills
>Exploring the city gives you hidden items if you look around and extra stuff, so it's fun to check around

Meh
>The dash is nice, but almost the same as regular run
>Attacks don't seem like they're connecting due to lack of stagger animation or some better impact animation
>NPC dialogue variety is still faithful to the original game, that is, it's extremely forgettable and inconsequential, plus repetitive dialogue

Bad
>Combat is way slower than you'd think
>On top of that it's way too easy, and the invincibility frames for dodge are gigantic, enemies are too slow, boss uses super telegraphed moves
>The animations feel forced and overdone most of the time for simple stuff

Attached: 1536520018456.png (516x565, 292.94K)

dont forget, also for bad:
>Cringeworthy english dub
overall, 6.5/10

>>Attacks don't seem like they're connecting due to lack of stagger animation or some better impact animation

Square, Triangle
or
Square, square, Triangle

Just mashing square won't stun them.

Its during the Laurent raid.

I did that, but it just seems to push them further back, while they stay on neutral animation.

>I did that, but it just seems to push them further back, while they stay on neutral animation.

ehh... that always pushes them back while knocking them down. Then they take time to get back up while you get free hits.

Ah damn. I completely forgot when it is, it's been over a decade I last played it.
Anyone checked for Angela's scene yet? When you try to talk to her when she sleeps, pretty sure that should be part of the demo.

Low effort 3d remake. No thanks.

It's so bad but I enjoy it so much. I made the right choice for my main character.

Attached: tewwibowe.png (591x458, 747.79K)

She's fully clothed but you still get a good shot of her.

the game needs a nightmare difficulty.
after easily beating crab the normal encounter with like 5 enemies all using ff14 attack zones was actually harder.
no/minimal equip might be the way to go especially considering we got supers now.

still, right after the boss i got 2 magic spells and the combat became much better than the original but ends like 1 minute later.
finally magic users don't feel like shit. you can even hotkey spells for instant cast.

>Man, this game just doesn't have the same visual charm as something like Ni no Kuni II or DQXI.
It also doesn't even remotely have the same budget.

So was the original game as well.
Only Secret and Legend are good in the series.

be vewy vewy quiet, i'm hunting wabites

>Only Secret and Legend are good in the series.
Secret isn't even a good game.

>Secret isn't even a good game.
Yes it is. It's sure as hell better than SD3.

>the game needs a nightmare difficulty.
Knowing SE the game will have zero post-release support.
