Terraforming, crafting, and outside placement are things people have wanted since the first game. They're incomparable to what we've lost.
All this being said nintendo has literally said they're going to patch shit in.
Robert Wood
>pick an island with a cool smaller island right in the middle >can't build my house there because no pole vault >literally half of the entire town is inaccessible right now >already out of things to do after a couple of hours Sick game, Nintendo.
Luis Rodriguez
Been playing for a couple of days now and I'm so let down.
Camden Gray
>New Horizons has more Villagers than what New Leaf did on launch.
NOOOOOOOOOO STFU STFU SHUT UUUUUP
Jonathan Smith
He is correct about the lack of gyroids and Nintendo items, the game has been datamined and neither of these things were found in the game files. The one thing OP was wrong about is the number of villagers, New Horizons has more than 300 and has a greater amount than what New Leaf started with on launch.
Noah Martinez
great details, very specific
Juan Thomas
i didnt persoanlly care for gyroids but the nintendo items like the metroid tube and mario pipe were cool additions
Oliver Powell
>Trying to play the numbers game
This isn't the PS5 spec war brother, which they're losing by the way
Michael Phillips
OMG NOOOOO THE MARIO PIPE! THE MARIO MUSHROOM! THE MARIO COIN!!!!!!! THEY'RE ALL GONE!!!!!!!!!
Henry Rodriguez
>nintendo has literally said they're going to patch shit in. so it's an unfinished game and they are going to end up selling dlc to finish it too, just like pokemon.
Elijah Taylor
Nintendo items are going to be a week event DLC.
Carter Bennett
i mean they did that with new leaf, cept this time you wont have to go to a best buy or gamestop to get them now
Elijah Williams
Oh so it's okay when Nintendo does it?
Sebastian Parker
I’m the opposite. I quickly got tired of seeing shitty mario hats and triforces be forced into every game on a Nintendo system.
Eli Murphy
nah it will be closer to octopass expansion level of quality since this is by the same development team you don’t have to worry about jewfreak
the Splatoon devs made this game. of course they're gonna drip-feed us updates and free DLC for the next 2 years.
Liam Gonzalez
This
Robert Gomez
>drip-feed us updates and free DLC this is the worst trend ever. they just sell an unfinished game and then add tiny fucking updates that barely add any reason to come back at all with huge gaps between them. a big reason why monster hunter world is shit too.
Colton Hill
what? it was just annoying. during the 3DS/Wii U era, it seems like every fucking game had wAcKy NiNtEnDo cOsTuMeS It was in Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Bayonetta, Fatal Frame and many more seeing Samus’ powersuit and Link’s tunic in everything just looked jarring, it was like witnessing some tacky mods
Adam Young
Fucking morons. New Leaf got years of worth of udpates included in that
Gavin Jenkins
feedope and sneedthe
Cooper Morgan
There's no reason to compare how the two games were at launch. That time has already come and gone, we can't go back to a day 1 New Leaf.
Juan Robinson
Are there more than 1 type of oyster buried on the beaches?
Hudson Barnes
why'd you pick a shit town layout user?
Jeremiah Thomas
>a sequel should launch with less villagers because they had one big update on the old game after launch >gyroids are gone for the first time ever, but don't worry, the game hasnt had UPDATES YET!!!!
fucking hate dumb niggers like you. all the villager skeletons needed are in the game they literally just need to create higher resolution textures of the basic cartoon designs for the new game and then dialogue WOW HOLY SHIT SO MUCH HARD WORK NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kayden Clark
Because I thought I'd be able to put my house on that smaller island and have access to more tools sooner. I got a recipe for a shovel, but can't make it because I don't have the one for the shitty shovel.
Juan Ramirez
this is what you deserve for playing without the launch update
Jaxon Martin
Just move your home when you can then. It's kinda on you for picking a shit island.
Adam Edwards
Quality > Quantity
Nathan Ross
It's on the game for not explaining that 60% of my island would be inaccessible until I get bridges.
Sebastian Ward
Nintendo items are for sure going to be included in those dlc like events like they said in the direct. I wouldnt be suprised if villagers are included in that either.
Colton Gonzalez
holy autism batman
Christopher Sullivan
villagers being added in dlc and updates is the dumbest fucking thing in the world. oh yeah my town is already full guess i better hope someone wants to move out and then hope one of the new ones i want want to move in.
Parker James
>the game themed amiibo villagers got cut Feels bad. These two were super cute.
yeah because it totally makes sense to compare a launch game to one that has years worth of updates
Daniel Rivera
I haven’t played since Gamecube so I don’t care.
Carter Hernandez
>Animal Crossing New Leaf (2012) + villagers + gyroids + nintendo-related items >>$39.99 Last Animal Crossing game I played was City Folk back in 2008. I never played New Leaf.
Jayden Sullivan
Has the way to unlock landscaping been spilled yet?
Asher Clark
When the barebones game we are using to compare came out AFTER the complete one, yes. It does make sense.
Jason Long
You all proved you didn't give a damn when you shelled out for Pokemon Sword and Shield. Welcome to the new normal. Breath of the Wild 2 will be half the size of BOTW and it will still cost $60.
Aaron Hill
No it's still on you for not keeping up with all the news in advance like the rest of the world did. It was common knowledge that you get the tools as the days go by my dude.
Samuel Reyes
>dude just spoil the whole game for yourself lmao
Luke Diaz
probably more akin to splatoon I'm pretty sure most of pokemon's problems are because it isn't actually owned entirely by nintendo and game freak are notoriously shit
>Not being able to spank your naughty villagers JUST
Hudson Stewart
Fucking this
Samuel Howard
Sword and Shield effect. It'll be the same game at the core with some new features (e.g. placing items outside, crafting items yourself with recipes) but they remove a lot of longstanding items or characters to increase longevity of the game by rereleasing them in the future, usually as free updates, sometimes as paid. Most people won't care, including 90% of this thread, since it's not really affecting everyone (as the core is intact). For me no gyroids is a dealbreaker though. I would stuff my house with them and line the outside path to it with duplicate ones. Was really looking forward to putting my Mega Tootoids on a farm outside. I wanted to make something sort of like this too.
