Why would it be a hero shooter now but not before? The game was literally always based around hard-set roles like hard breaching. In fact, the upcoming introduction of a hard beach gadget should decrease the focus on role specialization and allow for people to just pick the op that has the gadget the like rather than being forced to always play hard breach, always pick something to counter bandit, etc.

Ironically, having also 1v1 firefights, the free package has the only modes that I want, knowing how awful respawn based matches are in CODs. Warzone and Titanfall 2 will do just fine until the next Battlefield game

Squad is my most played game ever, finally going over the countless hours I spent in SC: Brood War, but the community has just become real shitty as of late. Tactics and strategy have gone out the window in favor of just spamming HABs everywhere and funneling the team into the objective. Maybe it's just the pubs that do this, but goddamn I'm sick of my squad never listening to me and instead giving up immediately, spawning at whatever HAB is closest, and making a bee-line for the objective. I had a machine gunner the other day deploy his MG at a corner and told us he'd cover the street as we pushed into some buildings and I couldn't believe I was seeing actual teamwork.
