There was never going to be PS1/2/3 BC.

They would have to develop and maintain the emulators to make sure they work for everything. It would literally just be a money sink for them for a feature a significant majority of their consumer base does not give a shit about. If they ever let you play PS1/2/3 games, it will be done the way PS2 games work on PS4 - that being a limited selection of games that have had the emulator tuned specifically for them and that you have to buy digitally. Otherwise it simply isn't happening because it's a high cost, high workload, low return concept.

PS4 BC will be in because it doesn't require the same requirements due to them being on the same architecture. No extra work necessary.
