Finding katana quite boring. Thinking about respeccing into something else. How's odachi?

Odachi is pretty popular but I don't use it myself. Too slow. I also use 1kat but honestly it's more because it looks good on my characters hip while I actually fight with the spear. Use the spear.

pole vault move is the most hilarious move in the game

SPEARGANG. Nothing like putting a nice long stick through people before they can even get close. Reminds me of my sex life actually

Spear is for scrubs you need to invest in like one stat to be good, and has all these extremely safe reaching sweeping moves.

>hoped naginata would be added to the game
>notice switch glaive
>mid stance looks like a naginata but don't reallynlike the moveset of the other stances
>scale the most with magic and never was one for onmyo build in the first game

Back to spear I guess. Didn't help the fact Yoshimoto actialy used a naginata in his fight.

So does odachi and kusarigama and switch glaive to an extent what's your point?

I feel like I'm doing shit damage to the bosses, it takes ages to whittle their Ki down then they go dark realm and immediately regain it all.

I used odachi on my first playthrough in Nioh 1. I liked it for the broad sweeping moves which had great crowd control but the move variety of the spear and its versatility won me over.

1Kat/Odachi reporting in. Might switch to 1Kat spear. What weapon works well with the 2Kat as a side weapon 1Kat? Because i wanna mainly use 2Kat during my 2nd character when i come to that.

Are you burst countering every red attacks? Its the only reliable way the burn through their stamina. Also when they are out of stamina go for a yokai ability, most of the time it will put them in a position where you can do the dagger death blow for big damage.

I run 4kat. One is for damage and one is for the set bonus

It'll probably be added. Honestly i want a Quarterstaff or some shit as well. I think some people are disappointed at the lack of a unarmed moveset but at the same time they probably would have to rape the fact just stacking buffs and going punchy punchy is still extremely silly.

The bosses seem much heartier this time around. I’ve had to be a lot more cautious fighting them.

I use spear with 2kat personaly. Any weapon that can give you a better range option when 2kat is dangerous. 2kat is the king of 1v1 but some enemies have too much health or have too much range to reliably get in.

sekiro wannabe.webm

Naginata absolutely won't be added because between spear and mid stance glaive you already have its' entire moveset.

Use yokai skills to break stamina faster. Also use burst counter whenever you can on red attacks because it lowers their max stamina gauge from what i can tell. By doing that the fights go super quick since they get stamina locked faster and faster.

Nioh 2 is a game where once you start doing shit right almost nothing feels even remotely spongey but when you start out shit feels like its made of bricks. Also i do feel like bosses have more life in general but its because of the above mentions part where the burst counter stamina locking makes them go super fast. But also like i said yokai skills do a solid chunk each use.

Dark Realm is sort of a get good thing. In most cases there isn't a gimmick to instantly end it like Owl. So you have to either stamina break them or wait it out. But they get harder movesets and your stamina slows to make it harder to break their stamina. Which is why burst counter each time is important.

My issue with Nioh 2 is just how alot of bosses whiff shit 10 light years away and it makes it so easy to break their stamina.

I agree on the unarmed moveset. Maybe they could just make it an unlockable at the end of all the unarmed buff but that'd take a while until you can do it.

I feel like I do shit damage to bosses, it takes an age to whittle them down to no Ki then they regain it all with the Dark Realm.

How does the mid stance odach parry works? i always seem to screw up the timing

press guard just before impact, timing is tight though.
seems to work on more enemies than most other parries

Also do ki pulse is very important in dark realm. Sacred water pretty muchnullifies the stamina regen penalty for a bit.

Speaking of the owl is it just me or was it a pushover that barely did any damage? Maybe I'm going overkill with forging new gear every mission.

Wow that ferret boss Is fucking easy. I feel like they were going for a low damage/high speed boss but his attacks aren’t nearly chained together enough to pull it off. I was at like 50% equip rate and just tanking his hits better than T-34 in Russian propaganda film

Is me too, my internet is going mental.

I literally just beat Enenra and a lot of what you said is spot on.

Oh. On top of all of that kicking. Bosses yokai bosses in this case don't really ever block. Any punish window where you can end in a kick is honestly sorta fucking dumb. It feels like a oversight based off how much stamina it takes from them.

As for the Owl i didn't kill the orbs and it took me like 4 tries. I found it a alright challenge but i probably approached it wrong. The red orbs in dark realm were off my camera during two of those deaths so i didn't even know the fuck was happening. Good boss though. Credo/Gyuki were probably the best so far i just beat Gyuki.

Okay thanks, man odachi is fun as fuck to play, that counter and the triangle move at the end of a combo where you force your opponent on the ground pushing him are fucking sick

Yo what the fuck does the buff do that i have i didn't look into it before i stopped when i charge R1 circle my Odachi makes me a fatty. I assume probably bigger damage but slow?

>playing 1kat with ranged weapons
>just equip the strongest attack and wear sohaya 5 set bonus
>"hmm some of the bosses take quite some time to kill, lets check youtube if I am doing something wrong"
>strategy is fine but most guys on youtube use mashinegun kunai or buff themself to gods with omoyo to kill so fast

I feel kinda shit now, though that explains why my damage feels kinda low at times. What you guys think should I change up now or even make new char with omyo/ninjutsu or just bear it out. I am on region 4 atm

do the hatchet parries work on yokai too?

Kicks did the same thing in the first game. I guess the devs were okay with it since you'll do abysmal damage whule you delete their stamina.

I just hugged the owls feet and it seemed like all of his wing slaps didn't hit me. I equip a lot of ranged yokai abilities so it might have helped with kocking him out of dark realm.

Once you realize that you can safely block most boss combos and get hits afterwards you'll stop saying bosses are damage sponges

>sekiro wannabe.webm
>webm from the first game that came out in early 2017

nice shooting, discord tranny

Why do you exist? The game is nothing like Fagkiro besides being samurai related. Did you get filtered but beat Sekiro and need to feel something?

have you heard of a company called Koei-Tecmo user

Blocking in Nioh is so crisp and when you get BTFO for blocking too much and learn when to block enemies/bosses you feel even better for it. The game has such a good balance of dodge/block choices. Also yeah people who say they get combo'd to death when in 99% of cases you can just block after the first hit and then dodge out of the block to avoid the rest must've dropped Nioh 1.

Those people on youtube just know what to get for ninjustsu or onmyo. Probably did the same in the first game. Don't worry about it every boss is spongy. Just try and burst counter every red attacks you can and you get a window to do some good damage. Just use what feels right, Nioh is the kind of game where at the begining you feel like shit but later on when you unlock skills and get better gear you'll be much stronger.

IZA

The company who absolutely rapped Dynasty Warriors and are making it the same dlc plagued game as Dead or Alive. Fuckers ripped out a ton of weapons you already had to buy in previous games and are selling them again.

Thank god for team ninja though. Last spit of brightness.

>Unlocking skills
>Be me
>Blast through game so far with hardly a road block like 65% through
>Look at skill shit
>Have like 10 points for each thing and tons of locks.

It makes me feel really bad since im squandering part of the games depth.

JINJOU-NI

Hey whatever works for you. You are missing out on some rad moves though

SHOBU!
*Summon lightning dog*

So I should just stick with it. Ok I try to play more around skills. I mostly focused on stance switching all my normal attacks with flux to be mobile

Attached: 1584342768578.png (1516x854, 1.15M)

Ill probably sit down when i get on today pop all my shit and look around and put points into shit/set some moves. I mean im still loving the game same with Nioh 1. I often play action games in super tame ways.

But im not gonna be one of those dudes who has 101 answers to a situation and complains when just doing basic shit isn't super effective.

AAAAAAAAA WHY ARE THE DROP RATES FOR SKILLS SO FUCKING LOW

Attached: TheLegendaryTaleOfBayeux.gif (1000x750, 1.99M)

Some active skills are pretty unsafe to use on bosses unless you drained their stamina. Some like god of wind for 2kat will make human enemies trivial. For me its the fun of having a wide variety of attacks to fit different situations.

I sorta feel like stances already do this to a degree but also a question. When the fuck do i find weapons with passive status shit? Did they just remove them? I swear i haven't found a single weapon with fire/wind/ice etc and just beat Gyuki.

weapons being imbued with an element, corruption or purity are tied to that specific weapon.

Every single Yamanba's Knives is imbued with Corruption, every Raikiri has lightning, etc. I believe they don't roll as modifiers.

So stupid question. What are the benefits to blessed/corrupted?

Blessed deals more stamina damage to yokai. Corrupted is the same but lesser and for everything if I remember right.

what does this even mean? The only way a Naginata gets in the game is a skin for Spear

They are rare but you can find purple weapons with them. If you farm for it by tempering a weapon you might see one. Like said above they are more coming towards the end with weapons having it by default.

Ah. Is there a side mission with Snek btw? Or can i use mortal souls or something to improve it? I ask because im still running the level 24 Snek i know shame me feels bad but i love it so much.

>tfw I did the snake boss on my first try
I did freak out a bit when his snake arms popped off for a fight though

Attached: 1583832345109.jpg (1058x695, 101.57K)

Snake boss is literally the only boss I beat first try, I'm still confused why he's considered the Hino-enma of this game

Damn, why would anyone not run one blessed and one corrupted weapon? We witcher naow

Snek is good but I haven't seen a mission for it yet. Again if they follow the trend of nioh 1 they like to throw previous bosses back at you towards the end in side mission so maybe.

Hino-enma is the Hino-enma of Nioh if it's the boss some people beat first try and some people have to grind for a day.

Its honestly way overkill on human enemies imo. Only good on human bosses. There are so many skill that shred human stamina that I don't find a need for it. Then again yokai weapons are pretty strong so.

I didn't even fight Snek in the beta and got em first try. Footfag got me like twice cus his combo 2 shot me. Other then that until Owl/Gyuki i was one/two shotting all the bosses. I don't know anons. Personally i didn't understand how Hino could filter jack shit shes so fucking easy to bait and dodge. Any shitter could just stamina breaker her and LW the rest of her to death in my eyes.
