Was a retarded kid for not being able to beat this nigga? At the time, I didn't realise it was an optional boss. I think I must have gotten to him fairly early. Died many times and then stopped playing the game completely.
Deadbeard from Golden Sun
>Was a retarded kid
apparently
Fuck. Alright, got me.
Uhh, and again. Gonna have to lay off the dumb nigger juice
>Missed out on the final boss
>Missed out on the kino sequel
Shit nigger what are you doing
That said Deadbeard is unironically the hardest boss in the game so it's not really odd he walled you. Just lube up your asshole if you ever fight him in the Reloaded mod because then he will properly fuck you up
The only fight harder than him in reloaded is GS2's final boss with the same mod, fuck them.
Why is he called Deadbeard if his sprite doesn't show a beard?
his beard is dead, jackass
>tfw no wind adept cunny
i miss it bros
>Dark Dawn's story was a mess and ended on a cliffhanger
>Sequel never
That game's entire existence is painful
What kind of a name is Weyard anyway?
I'm genuinely surprised they still haven't done an HD remake of the first two games with everything seamlessly carrying over as soon as you complete the second lighthouse in the first game.
I just want a new Golden Sun. Why does nintendo hate it?
I miss her bros.
its a pretty entry level rpg but i fucking love this game. story, world, mechanics. everything.
Its one of the few games that genuinely still makes me feel like I'm on a huge globetrotting adventure
As far as I remember the strategy I used the first time was a simple summon rush with psynergy seals.
Now that I know he has limited PP I usually just outheal him to the point where he has no PP and can only attack one character at a time.
Didn't Dark Dawn actually sell pretty well all things considered? I think the market is simply a bit different now - Back in the GBA days Nintendo didn't have many JRPG franchises under their belt so they had more incentive to push for it.
I don't think a new GS game is ruled out, I'd love to see Camelot get out of Sports hell.
Is that supposed to be Menardi?
i know the feel man. when you first step out on the overworld and you realize the kind of journey you're headed for is just an amazing feeling. Felix is the best btw.
>tfw after playing golden sun 1 and 2 for the million's time and you finally realize the bad guys weren't really bad guys but just desperate to save what they cared for...
Was Saturos actually homosex?
>point of no returns
>can get locked out of djinns
Fuck this gay game.
I don't know but I thought he was a girl when I was young
You can't get to him too early because even though you can get there at the Karagol Sea part, you can't get to Deadbeard because one of the rooms requires the cloak ball.
And yeah, you were probably pretty dumb. I remember a lot of my first run I just tried to summon rush every boss with mixed results. Deadbeard likes to buff his attack, so if you're dumb enough to have low stats due to Djinn usage and don't realise you need to cast Break he can start bopping you for ~400 damage.
mad as fuck that their mario tennis shovelware F-team made a better RPG than any of their first stringers
Only on the DS game though
>Reloaded mod
There's a hack of Golden Sun? Do tell.
>Didn't Dark Dawn actually sell pretty well all things considered?
DD sold less than the other two games but still sold over a million. I think they were expecting it to sell more but it's still bullshit a handheld game on a dying system still sold over a million but is considered a flop. Every year at E3 I hope and every year I'm disappointed. The smash bros hype from the grinch leak hurt so much.
Use the endless wall glitch to get missed djinn and summons
I broke my usual rule of no guides and played Dark Dawn with a djinn guide on the very first run, once I had the cave collapse after the three tuaparang scouts.
GOLDEN SUN RELOADED MOD PSA
Link to mod(s):
forum.goldensunhacking.net
>What is this jank?
Golden Sun Reloaded is a mod for the first two Golden Sun games, the purpose of which in the words of its creator: "...is to provide a harder and not too straightforward game, meant to be enjoyed by players that are quite knowledgeable with the game mechanics and want to try other things than Megiddo & Summon Rush."
There's a changelog in the link which goes through a lot of what actually changes, but in short the mod focuses on improving the combat system of vanilla; Enemies are significantly buffed, some gameplay design is altered to ward off Summon rushing, classes and Psynergy spells are retooled with new additions and changes.
These changes serve to make the relatively easy combat of vanilla into a deeper, more strategic and fun system that allows the present core mechanics to shine.
>Should I play it?
If you've already played GS and want a fresh experience, absolutely - Just about everyone I've talked to who played the mod recommend it.
Haven't played GS before but still interested? Assuming you've played some JRPGs before, you should be fine. Reloaded will most likely be a more interesting way for an experienced newcomer to play the game than pure vanilla
At the end of the day, its up to you if you want to mod it or not.
>I am clinically retarded, how do I patch the game
Use an IPS patcher:
fusoya.eludevisibility.org
to apply the mod on a clean ROM of Golden Sun. Alternatively wait for dumpanon who occasionally shows up with pre-patched ROM links in the thread.
>Is there a mod for Dark Dawn?
No. The creator isn't interested in making one, and implementing a similar hack in DD is from what I've understood, more technically challenging than GS and TLA so it has yet to materialize.
>I want to FUCK Mia
Hands off my wife nigger
>there will never be another Golden Sun game
>even if there was enough demand for one everyone who made the originals has probably already moved on from Camelot
it hurts. at least give me a remake of one and two combined into one game.
>gameplay mod
>not a mod to make up for the GBA's shortcomings in the sound/performance department
Pass
Two questions about the games in general because it's been a long time.
1. I know Djinn have a set and standby mode which you can move between freely outside of battle so you could effectively open a battle with four powerful summons. What I'm not sure on is the rules. Is it one turn per Djinn to recover after a summon? Is that recovery order based on the order in which the character has them in the menu?
2. While using a Djinn in battle to set them to standby allows you to use their special abilities I remember it also lowers the associated character's HP. Does it also reduce other statistics? Also, does the HP (or other statistics) only come back to the character after the Djinn has recovered?
3. Does battle mode actually have an ending? I remember getting bored and quitting after a large amount of battles
>in the sound/performance department
Those are two categories the Golden Sun games excelled in so I'm not sure what you're even referring to here.
Its allright user. Smash shitposter will shitpost, but it felt good to have hope for once. I loved the threads we had up until the grinch leak got btfo. It was just wholesome to see that there were so many GS fans on Yas Forums
Lets just try to keep GS threads comfy and at least we can be dissapointed together
Three questions*
You're missing out on an amazing experience man
>Is it one turn per Djinn to recover after a summon?
Yes. Not sure about the order, though. It could be as simple as the order they're set in.
>Does it also reduce other statistics? Also, does the HP (or other statistics) only come back to the character after the Djinn has recovered?
Yes and yes. Your character's class can even change if you use too many Djinn.
>Does battle mode actually have an ending?
Nope, it's just for practice, IIRC.
>Hands off my wife nigger
No.
I'm too retarded to articulate what exactly is wrong with it but GBA games sound really grainy.

I know GS has a bomb soundtrack but I'd want to hear something in better quality, iirc there were rom hacks for the FF ports that fixed the music so I wondered if the same existed for GS
1: It's always one turn per Djinn when they are in recovery mode. Off the top of my head I don't recall how the game decides the order they recover in.
2: Djinn act as modifiers to all your stats, so disabling/enabling them will change your stats correspondingly. Depending on your setup of Djinns on a given character, your character will be in a specific class (pic related). Different classes have different Psynergy and Stats, so definetely experiment - This is definetely crucial if you ever try the Reloaded mod When Djinns recover your character will regain whatever stats were lowered by unleashing the Djinn in the first place.
3: I have no clue, I never really bothered with it. I'd imagine it just keeps going though?
> Is it one turn per Djinn to recover after a summon?
Yes, one recovers every turn till there are no more. There is also a djinn with an effect to recover one more djinn that turn.
> Is that recovery order based on the order in which the character has them in the menu?
No, it's based on the order you put them on standby in the menu.
>Does it also reduce other statistics? Also, does the HP (or other statistics) only come back to the character after the Djinn has recovered?
Yes to both but you can also put a standby djinn to set in battle to get back it's stats as well.
>Does battle mode actually have an ending?
No
>That Mercury Djinni just creeping in the background
>Not in the pussy
She's still pure
>there were rom hacks for the FF ports that fixed the music
I think they were only able to do that since they patch in the snes music into the gba ports.
>No, it's based on the order you put them on standby in the menu.
Yes. The recovery order of djinn or based on the order they were put into standby mode regardless if it was in battle or by menu. For example say you put 4 mars djinn on standby to summon meteor. But before you summon you use another mars djinn then summon, the fifth djinn you put on standby(the one used in battle) will still be on standby while the others recover. And the order of recovery is which were put on standby first in the menu.
Battle mode is infinite, and the enemies get progressively stronger bonuses to their stats. If you're playing Lost Age and you care about getting as far as possible, keep a file from before killing Dullahan, otherwise you pretty much lose if it rolls him.

Pretty much all the single target high level psynergy are top tier. It's a shame psynergy didn't scale well, because it looked pretty good.
Golden Sun has beautiful animation and top notch audio, but the battle system does need tweaking
this was always fucking hysterical to me
Like maybe he could convince Isaac and co not to mop the floor with him but this dumb nigga was talking shit to Saturos and Menardi who didn't seem to have any qualms about killing him
