It wasn't as powerful as the Xbox. It didn't have the games of the PS2. It wasn't as innovative as the Dreamcast. What is it's appeal?

Better games.
You could play Super Mario Strikers on it.
Checkmate Faggot.
some really good exclusives at the time, prime, melee, custom robo, and REmake, just to name a few.
It was designed to be portable.
That's why it has a handle on the back and it's compact.
Nintendo always liked the idea of portable consoles. This was a clear predecessor to some of the Switch's concepts, if you think about it.
N64 games that don't run like garbage.
I had fun with it and my ps2. I don't give a fuck what other retards said at the time. Those chucklefucks thought console loyalty meant something but I had a job and all 3 platforms + a pc to play all those cool fucking mmos from korea before the p2w trend started. Talesweaver, Ragnorok online and pso were my thing with a side of everquest and resident evil outbreak file 2 online.
As for gamecube, it was my favorite because it had the best multiplayer games without having to get a multitap and pso on the xbox required xbl to play OFFLINE
Nintendo always had the best exclusives while Xbox and Playstation always had the best multiplatform support and good exclusives as well. You either own a PS2 and a Gamecube or a Xbox and a Gamecube, if you owned a PS2 and Xbox you fucked up.
You could transfer your chao from your GameBoy Advanced, into your Sonic Adventures 2 Battle Chao garden.
Still to this day one of the coolest things I've done in gaming.
it's not even a cube
nintendo is a fucking joke
>custom robo
What? the Gamecube had a Custom Robo? Shit I must've missed it, I love Custom Robo.
It played Metroid Prime, which is all it needed to do
>It didn't have the games of the PS2
Correct, it had better games
this
Support for serial debugging over the EXI bus
Well the good news is you have another game to play.
It has a dozen or so excellent games that are still the some of the best in genre
Maximum soul
It had a handle so it's portable :)
the best zelda game
Good games
And a good thing that was too.The PS2 library was shit.
games were great
It made for a hell of a warmace
gay cube had neither
No they werent
>The Game Rectangular-Prism
I owned a GameCube an Xbox and a PS2.
>Nintendo always had the best exclusives
No they didn't, nintendo exclusives were always the same old bog standard kiddy trash that no body actually wanted to play. theres a reason why the gamecube sold like trash.
>best exclusives
>best controller
>tons of 60 fps titles
>ran all games at locked 30 fps or higher as opposed to PS2's 15 fps slideshows
What's not to like?
Good games.
The reason everyone bought a PS2 is because it doubled as a cheap DVD player and was released a year earlier than the xbox and GC.
It was in fact an underpowered shitbox that couldn't run games to save its life.
PS2 had both
The Wii had even more of that "kiddy trash" and flew off the shelves, so obviously there's more to it than that.
High quality games with second best graphics. It hit the middle ground that made it worthwhile. Xbox had barely any good games while the Gamecube had plenty.
Gamecube had a lot of the best versions of multiplats for its generation. Xbox got fucked over by JP devs consistently.
I can think only of Sonic Heroes at the moment. Other games like Timesplitters or Splinter Cell are worse even than the PS2 versions.
Every Nintendo console features ideas flirted with in their previous generation's iteration and their handhelds heralded their interactive innovations incorporated into future consoles. The obvious example is the Wii U/Switch screen, less obvious is the GBA/GCN link and DS download play. You're right. If you think about it, you can guess where they're going next.
All the same nintentoddler cookie-cutter franchises they've been shoving down your throat for the past several decades.
Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, etc., it's all the same shit year after year. No originality, no creativity. Like buying a new Call of Duty every year.
Melee. That's literally it. The system is fucking garbage.
>cites western games
Like I said, Japs shafted the Xbox. Capcom games were always best on Gamecube. Sega released a bunch of Xbox exclusives, but their multiplats tended to be better on the cube. Same for Konami (with a few exceptions) and Namco (which is obvious given they went in with Nintendo that gen on arcade games). I wish Xbox was the best version every time, but the split on multiplats was often Cube at like 50%, Box at 35%, PS2 at 15%.
Quality+quantity >>>>>>>>> quality.
That's why PS2 will always be superior to GC. So cope.
>Nintendo being at peak kino with great first party titles.
>Gamecube being tough enough to double as a blunt weapon
>Melee
GC was my last Nintendo console
>tfw idort who had all 3
>that couldn't run games to save its life.
>what is mgs2
>what is dmc
Today, I will remind them.
Just a decent all around system before nintendies went full gimmick mode. My last console from them
I had a PS2 and the Xbox was gifted to me. The Xbox had a bunch of good exclusives and PC ports, it was well worth it to own both. Truly the last good console generation
the appeal is that its emulator can emulate timesplitters on it unlike the goddam ps2 emulator
lol imagine missing out on Mario Sunshine and Wind Waker because you were too poor to afford a second console, and you're still fanfagging Snoy as an embarrassing cope more than a decade and a half later.
By this comparison it still lose to the original xbox
>That's why it has a handle on the back and it's compact.
Did anyone ever use the handle? Who would swing around an expensive electronic like a handbag?
Game Boy Player was peak kino and basically tripled the Cube's library. That, plus exclusives.
It sucks that the Wii U could've pulled the same shit but Nintendo didn't know what the fuck they were doing that gen.
Meanwhile Factor 5 made Rogue Squadron.
God I remember seeing Rogue Leader's graphics for the first time and thinking it looked just like the movies.
It could have ran DS and 3DS with its dual screens. It could have been great
This shit is embarassing to read.
Pretty much as said, GameCube - like almost ANY major console - had some incredible, timeless exclusives. Fanboying this hard is pathetic as fuck. Writing off all Nintendo games? Severe autism. I guarantee you're poor, and probably Hispanic as well. I can't fucking stand sony.gger trash
And? That's a completely different game with unrelated graphics technology.
The controller had no right being as good as it was and still being goofy as fuck. Not n64 goofy though
I missed the Z button being on the back.
All the gens best games were on it.
F-Zero GX, Paper Mario, Metroid Prime.
>His parents didn't get him a GC and a PS2
Im sorry your folks don't love you, user.
It looked like a cube.
>Actual good rumble
>Ridiculously sensitive joystick
>Actually nice shoulder pads
Still hasn't been surpassed imo. The only thing it needs is a better d-pad. I'm a fan of the PlayStation 3 controller but gcn controller is ridiculous.
The original that is, not the shitty cheap ones that they have rereleased every generation for the newest smash; those are all awful
Nintendo Games was the appeal.
Though at the time, Nintendo's big moves were... a game where Luigi explores a cartoon masion? ...and some FPS where you're a robot but you don't really shoot a lot of things?
And the some incredibly convoluted yet incredibly brightly colored Mario game about water sports, and a garden gnome simulator or something.
>and some FPS where you're a robot but you don't really shoot a lot of things
The amount of cope on display here is unbelievable.
