wait really?

Yeah, I thought I was going to get a few comfy la mulana threads during the quarantine, but I guess Yas Forums is busy with something else.
shame

Is this game any good?

good luck assholes, use that screenshot function and make a map.

Do you like feeling like a fucking retard?
If you do then yeah, I guess.

1 & 2 collection also launched today on PS4, i think

No threads though, 2 seems to have completely fallen off people's radar

No one finished the first one, why would they play the second?

its the best indiana jones simulator, besides the first one, but I like this one more because I could beat it completely solo. Its hard as balls though and will make you feel like a retard.

It's really good if you're into the kind of game it is

I honestly prefer the original though, and the original is free so theres also that.

It's an unfair riddle orientated metroidvania.
It's fun.

It is one of my favorite games, right up my alley with how orgasmic figuring things out feels. Hope you like taking notes
The games are best played with a few people at the same time, as you can figure out things yourself, help other people and ask for hints if needed.
Some puzzles are extremely confusing on 1 but I found 2 to be perfectly doable.

by far the worst part of 2 for me was the Dinosaur doll(?). Thats the only part I felt was some BS.

Where was the hint for that anyway?

There's no Tower of Oaness update Naramura you HACK. If you're not going to add it at least remove the transition to the Spring in the Sky on the map.
Anyway I still like 2 more than 1. Yeah, mantras are part of too many puzzles, but if I never have to do that shit where you drive the wedges into the areas in 1 to seal the Mother again it'll be too soon. Come on. Plus I like interacting with the NPCs in 2.

That's why you play La-Mulana randomizer which just gives Mom a normal ankh.

I heard they changed some of the NPC stores/hot springs with indie games reps, know for a fact the duck got changed by the boss of VA-11Hall-A (in the vallhalla map not surprisingly)
Anyone have a pic of all the changes?
I don't think there was, I remember just using the spear on most of the room

oh shit here he comes

best enemy

theres a drawing that super vaguely hints it.

All of them? No, but the NPC changes were in the JP versions of the console releases, so you might find them around here and there

>Replaying LM1
>Have a Baphomet fight where she absolutely refuses to use any of her lower teleport spots.
fuck you

It's too hard for the bearded bespectacled bald switch owning crew.

how horrifying

I've found fucking nothing.

If you were to place Metroidvanias on a scale, Zero Mission would be on one end and La Mulana would be on the other. It's a very challenging game, especially when it comes to riddles/puzzle solving, but it is very satisfying to beat. While there are many Metroidvanias on the market, none of them are quite like La-Mulana.

I cleared Spring in the Sky just to fucking get here.

I was actually planning on making a thread yesterday. I was planning on making the thread for a couple weeks. Then when the day finally came, I simply forgot about it.

Jackpot.

Attached: Untitled.png (1654x929, 1.41M)

Ha! You guys have no intuition. I got that without trying. The little statue you have to hit looks odd, so I hit it with my spear, as it goes through walls. It was simple curiosity.
I got the mario pipe pot in the first game the same way. Simple intuition.

I watch both games on twitch, and it's surprising to see so many people miss simple things like that. I'm not even very good at the game. But that stuff it's very hard either.

Are there any differences between the original PC versions and this one?

And I can't be assed to do this right now.

Attached: Untitled.png (1652x941, 1.71M)

I believe it's based more on the Vita version, there's a few changes here and there puzzle wise (mostly for good) like making things more evident assuming the smaller screens.
For example on the first gate of illusion puzzle the floor gets cleared completely instead of only making a small prompt indicating you can fall from there

How does one man do all this? I can barely finish one drawing in a day, and he's drawn 34 waifus in a single game, along with everything else.

Do it right now, faggot. That's one of the simpler puzzles, and the reward is good. You're playing rando, right? Only takes a minute. There's probably something good there.

Fuck you, this better be the Shrine of the Mother map.

Attached: Untitled.png (1671x943, 1.73M)

I think Naramura did the music for 2 also, on top of learning how to draw so he could do the character portraits. The torture this man went through when all he wants to do is make traps that kill people.

>Spend an hour lost because I can never remember the demon statue in the Shrine of the Mother doesn't actually spawn unless you've got both map programs equipped.

EVERY

FUCKING

TIME

But I am not fighting Kamitachi with a key sword.

Our journey so far.

Attached: Untitled.png (1043x741, 59.64K)

I found Palenque, the worst boss in the game.

Attached: Untitled.png (1303x915, 1.16M)

And fuck this guy too.

Attached: Untitled.png (1297x920, 1.05M)

Is the second one good?

Best Metroidvania of all time.

Still need to beat 2 on PC.

Too ADHD to continue.

Attached: Untitled.png (1293x912, 872.73K)

I heard he hired out of the music

literally who cares

If you're a curious person, and you can do basic logic, then you should be fine. Here, I made a handy chart.

Attached: La-Mulana Chart.png (720x540, 23.63K)

Moon mantra where?

I don't remember the hints so you get spoilers.
Immortal Battlefield
Coming from the icy tree place
Behind a breakable wall

Please respond. How does if fare compared to the 1st.

Good game, not as good, why don't you just fucking play it instead of asking us.

I liked it, as someone who enjoyed the first. Puzzles are a bit tougher, and platforming gets tougher earlier than expected.

I wouldn't want to get it if it wasn't nearly as good.

So it's one of those sequels that is designed for those who beat the first one in terms of difficulty?

>that mural in Immortal Battlefield that was a hint for the statue positions in SOTFG

Attached: 1566355160940.png (1200x566, 966.29K)

>I wouldn't want to spend one minute finding a torrent it if it wasn't nearly as good.
???

I don't like this. The shopkeepers were hardly even characters but why remove and replace them outright

>randomizer
This sounds equal parts horrible and fun.

I buy stuff bro.

I don't get it. What does those numbers mean? I like the game, it's not hard, but not in my top 10. So I'm between 115-120?

No one said you couldn't pay for it later.

It means the chart doesn't apply to you because your IQ is off the lower end of it.

>puzzles are a bit tougher
user what
LM1's puzzles were brutal, LM2 is a cakewalk in comparison.

Attached: bet you can't guess what this vase does.jpg (679x204, 46.49K)

What does IQ stands for? Gamer skills?

Don't listen to the other two anons. The second game is very good.
Some people say it's not as good, because it's more helpful starting off. Whereas they want that LM1 experience, where they had zero clue what to do or where to go for the first few hours. But in the second game, they prepare you with the essentials early on, and make sure you understand concepts by limiting where you can go before beating the first boss. In that respect, I think it's better for new players.
After the first boss, that's when it starts to feel like the authentic La-Mulana experience. Except it doesn't have a bullshit mantras-tier puzzle at the end.

The graphics are improved.
The music is still great.
Mechanically, it feels better, because they give you some wiggle room after a jump now. And you can catch ladders while in the air, and duck. Overall, it's mechanically refined. With some very awesome puzzles. It's simply more La-Mulana.

The only divisive factor, is that 2 lacks the super obtuse bullshit that some players crave. But if that's not you, then you will probably like this one equally or more than the first.

internal queerness

>Enter this room the first time.
>See the giant pointing at the pot.
>Try going down it Mario-style as a joke.
>It actually works.
>Enter online discussions later and find out people got stonewalled by this.
The pot in the Gate of Illusion was way worse.

Literally my thought process.

We talked LM2 to death when it launched on PC. It was a great fucking time. You can't recreate that kind of atmosphere for a console port, all the secrets are already known.

LM2 was my GOTY that year, so fucking good. LM1 is better in some respects (bosses in particular) but I vastly prefer LM2's approach to puzzle design.

Alright sounds good but I liked the classic castlevania jumps of the first game.

>Best battle theme.
>Actually makes some appearances outside of the boss room.
>Cool design.

>Quite possibly the lamest fight out of any of the Guardians in both games.

Attached: 225px-Rom-aten-ra.jpg (225x250, 20.12K)

Everything's cool until your starting weapon is the earth spears.
