when did you drop it?
When did you drop it?

when your mom start sucking
At the end of the third game in the series.
itt fuck you i like it
I beat it 3 times.
op here i like it but i almost dropped it at the sanctum priest boss guy
for what purpose
This, and XIII-2 > LRXIII > XIII.
At the beginning of lightning returns. It just happened.
At XIII-2 when it wouldn't even run on PC since it's a dog shit port.
this.
Never did. It’s in my top 3 FFs. Currently replaying it actually.
I didn't. I played and beat it 100% 3 times. each on a different Platform.
I don't actually like it that much, it is just a fairly comfy game to play semi-idle as busywork for your hands while doing something else since it is more Paradigm Management and abusing the free refill then anything once you get it down you can basically do it by muscle memory since most fights aren't actually balanced to deal with you getting that much ATB.
I was close at a few points, but I persisted. End-game combat was pretty fun.
I unkronically liked it more than FFXV. I haven't played Royal Edition though, and don't really have any interest in doing so.
When it stopped booting a bit into the part on the planet
Lightning Returns was interesting but the story sucked
About 15 minutes in when we're introduced to Lightning's mom and she says "Moms are tough." It's like the writer's lazy way of communicating that this woman is supposed to be competent in battle, and strong, and somehow didn't think we'd realize immediately it's obviously Lightning's mom. But then again, they DID drop that "Moms are tough" line on us, so maybe they did think we were that stupid. Show, don't tell, dumbasses.
After the credits
I can't remember exactly, but it was pretty early in the game. Some kind of watery area if I remember correctly. I just got really bored with it and felt no desire to continue.
>Lightning's mom
just me or does this game a drastic difficulty spike?
I played it the whole way through.
I dropped the franchise afterward though.
Finished it 3 times and platinumed it, along with the sequels. Loved it
Depends on how you handle it, if you follow the Cie'th Stones (that have you loop around Pulse) it doesn't, if you rush the story i think you might run into one.
this
I just beat it a few days ago. Currently playing XIII-2 and have no idea what the fuck is going on.
>Cie'th Stones
These are optional once you get to the open world bit right? Thats all I know about them? Care to explain what the deal is and how many I need to ensure smooth sailing?
XIII is better than X and XII combined.
Just grind at the behemoth/megistothing right lol
Fight*
At the time FFXIII was a very stellar game graphically.
The specially effects, sharp textures, smooth graphics were amazing.
I wanted to play it because it looked amazing.
Some part where Lightning and Hope or whatever that kid's name is bored me.
They finally travel together along or something and it just isn't fun.
I did buy all three games again to play through them.
reminder that FFXIII is 10 years old.
after i got platinum bitch
it still is a very gorgeous game especially at 60fps now
fuck
They are basically hunts, basically go "GO HERE AND KILL MONSTER THERE!", usually with the next one nearby, they basically handhold you through Pulse so you see all cutscenes and shit if you follow them in order from when you show up there, and since they will eventually point you past the plot triggers they will basically send you on your way.
That said, you can just ignore them and do stuff on your own like the fight mentioned, where monsters fight eachothers until one dies before going for your party.
Or you can do what I did which is the latter followed by the former
Thanks for the advice. How long do each of these fights take and whats the target time if you remember?
after saw this
When I got to some fight where the boss turned into a gigantic wall, and it took like 20 minutes to get through the fight, then the boss cast death and my entire fucking party died. I uninstalled, took the disc out, and threw that shit out my window.
Only played it because of armpitfags spamming Lightning's pits
Didn't drop it, but forgot what the fuck the story was about when I got to Pulse
afyer I saw a nigger
Barthandalus is a retard check. Congrats on being a retard
That sounds like Bart, you fight Bart multiple times.
Not either of them, but I remember that Behemoth/Megi battle only being about a minute each? Maybe two? Just use Haste on everyone and kill the Behemoth before it transforms then kill the other. Leave area. Come back. Rinse repeat.
I think that crystal cave after the first major boss. Game was an absolute snoozefest and it instantly went to resale afterward.
op here I almost got stuck on bart too till I understood how important haste was and I realized that he has a dps check. I hope the other times I fight him aren't so hard.
How much grinding do you recommend? I want to ensure smooth sailing but not entirely break the game.
Giant God machines who serve humans want to bring about a mass casualty event to summon their God back who abandoned them. But because they don't have free will they can only do it by cursing humans to do their bidding; they want to use humans to summon ragnarok
Was there ever a clear difference between Pulse l'cie and Sanctum l'cie?
pulse are made by fal'cie of their choosing, sanctum are created 'artificially'. Which is why all the sanctum l'cie are fighters/warriors. Something about their final forms being different but that was cut content so lmao who knows.
>IT GETS GOOD AFTER THE 30 HOUR MARK
Never again. After that point I might as well finish it. And even though I hear that the sequels are better, I didn't want to even try after this bullshit.
I actually finished it. It’s true, it really does get better 30 hours in, but it never really recovers from that initial feeling of disappointment you get when you first realize, “what? It’s literally just a hallway and it never opens up?” And you just end up wishing that it was more.
Chapter 11
when the nigger had the bird fly out of his afro
tips for fighting cid?
why then?
it does get better after the 30 hour mark, but the stuff before that is also good. it just goes from good to great.
>last boss has instadeath spell
>Game ends if player character dies
What the fuck were they thinking?
I'll never give the black dude guns lmao
>here's your new Final Fantasy with a dude bro
>oh yeah and we added nigger
>he uses guns in each hand
"We have a checkpoint system now so fucking whatever."
I didn't. I saw that shit through to the end. It was fucking horrible.
However, I then went on to enjoy XIII-2 and LR:XIII. And I'm left wondering if, if I revisit XIII, I'll enjoy it more now that I've kinda mastered the combat system.
Gilgamesh in XIII-2 was one of the most difficult battles I've ever fought in any game, let alone FF, idk how other people beat him so easily
I don’t know, got to that wide open area, explored for a bit and got bored, never picked it up again because I lost my save file
I'd at least maximize everyone's primary roles to lv.4. Then you can probably be on your way and not worry too much for a good while.
Also, for the Behemoth battle, go with COM/SAB/RAV and equip your main character with Auto-Haste (Sprint Shoes - Just dismantle a Tetradic Crown Max Lvl to get Hermes Sandals, upgrade the sandals at max lvl via a Perovskite)
>complaining about sazh
fags
Learning to master farming the adamantortoises was unironically fun
Chapter 12 boss fight. I lost twice and finally decided it wasn't worth the effort to grind to get stronger. This was back when the game first came out and I haven't touched it since.
Dude if you even take away the black shit, he's a comedy relief who falls flat.
He's literally there to crack unfunny jokes.
Couldn’t 100% FFXV? What’s the matter, couldn’t handle holding O for 60 hours straight?
hes the only characters whose arc I've given a shit about so far
I never picked it up.
i still have to play the last one and you can't spoil it for me because i'm abandoning the thread right now ;)
Chapter 10 or 11 I think. I got tired of the battle system because it was too slow.
I got the platinum then found out I need to purchase royal edition and then hack my internet to prevent it from updating to 1.7 and download the multiplayer dlc from some archived link on the ps store to be able to 100% it. I plan to eventually but currently you can't 100% FFXV legitimately
>Postgame consists of farming Adamantoises for 30 hours.
Lightning kills God then resets the universe. It's kind of stupid but fun nonetheless
As someone who suffered through it in like December, that sounds boring as fuck and unfulfilling
The first time I didn't make it very far, it was just so boring. Maybe 20 hours.
Later on I decided to play all the way through, got to Gran Pulse and for a few hours was surprised that I was genuinely enjoying the more "nonlinear" world map and that it had finally opened up like an actual Final Fantasy game, but again I got really bored quickly since the battle system is so one-note and the equipment system is complete nonsense and the story and characters are still trash. I realized I could be spending my precious life hours playing literally any other RPG and just quit playing.
I still kind of want to finish it someday because I've heard good things about the sequels.
lmao this guy gets it.
I fought it over 30 times and from 99 to 110 is eternity.
