Videl has good pressure, solid neutral, and decent damage, plus a DP and a Counter Super that just got buffed in terms of startup. She's outclassed in one way or another by every other rushdown character but she's not even Bottom 5 I'd say.

Some VAs have recorded lines through the phone before. But nowadays it generally means they did a bad job. Though that can usually be blamed on the voice director.

Phoned in USUALLY implies it's a VA who's done a good job before sounding like they're not trying very hard anymore. Bardock's VA is pure shit since always so idk if phoned in applies to him

Cooler is extremely stacked when it comes to tools, among the cast without a fast low, he would move up the most from gaining one (which he shouldn't). Even without a 2L he has three lows and a scary overhead special. He shits on neutral with his beam, 3H, and Air OK DP. Can side switch on any hitconfirm to gain the corner. Level 3 being a counter or a grab gives him situational but useful moments to use it while it's perfectly fine as a combo ender.

What I think really helps him though is that his trio of assists is probably the best and most flexible in the game:
>MASSIVE invincible DP
>uppercut that slides across the screen and deletes all projectiles while having good hitstun and passable blockstun
>Beam-based C Assist, meaning it's one of the best for hitconfirms AND it can be used for pressure as well

Shulk is like C.Viper: characters that are theoretically top tier but way too complex and execution-heavy to be used consistently at a top level. A character that can do things 80% as well as them for half the effort are better in tournament settings. Cooler isn't quite there, I'd say.

Arcsys really got mad with people asking for a beam assist for Krillin and made damn rocks useful. I also like how he can throw senzu beans to bench characters to heal them faster.

I think I finally found my team that feels right. DBZ Broly, Baseku, and Teenhan. However I’m not sure what assist to pick, any tips?

Figures. I thought Cooler C could work but given how long it takes to recover it seems like I'd be forced to do frame traps constantly which would eventually blow up in my face.

Would it be worth learning Base Goku and using Assist A since it's huge and has big block/hitstun? Both Brolies give him Spirit Bomb and it gives me a full team of command grabs.

Baseku B Assist is a sleeper hit. If you build the right team around that shit you're going to wreck ass. Reynald memed it up with Vegito(C)/Gogeta(B)/Baseku(B) recently, but I think that's actually really close to something really viable. Just drop Gogeta for Teen Gohan or Blue Goku with either their A or B assist and you have your Level 5 character that uses EXs well in-between Vegito who is a great battery with less need for pressure assists and Baseku building you mad bar all the time.

Goku Spirit Bomb, spam it for free meter and later to use the lv3 mini spirit bomb. Teenhan C assist since it can track the opponent in a stupid way

Yamchas is pretty good, fits his character. It doesn’t get me pumped to fight though. I can’t remember Hit’s/haven’t heard it yet

All A Assists could work since Broly's is big and armored, Baseku's is big and has stupid hitstun/blockstun, and Teenhan's is invincible and can lead to ticks. Broly B is decent for neutral and combos but not as good as A, Baseku B is a risk and I'd put Teenhan up front if you pick it so he can build and use meter really fast while backed by a good assist in Broly, and Teenhan B or C is a decent choice if you want a more hitconfirm-based assist.
