>soulless AAA games
That's an oxymoron.

RIP overstrike. Riot took the name and turned it into Valerant

Ironic choice of name for such a forgettable game

people still remember it, but nobody cares or talks about the franchise now

Go back to your containtment thread.

one time my friend took me to his dealer's house, he had this huge TV set-up and had just gotten the Time Crisis box set with some limited edition lightgun

we ended up playing this game against each other, he was such a scrub that i ended up just running around the map throwing knives at his character and cutting the ventilator tube or whatever (some assassination move) and he got so mad that he forced me to play cawwaduty with him where he proceeded to play some scrub 50 cal noscope loadout

good times

I own it and I don't even remember it

Attached: why.jpg (435x500, 50.63K)

4 was absolutely not soulless. It was just a lot better if you never played 3.

>A fucking 12 year old caused them to pivot

Attached: botw.jpg (488x488, 68.35K)

I remember looking forward to this game so much then fast forward like two years later I just so happened to remember it existed, like it disappeared immediately despite after all the hype it was getting.

seethe

You mean it's redundant? An oxymoron would mean that all AAA games have soul.

I keep forgetting that I played Fuse. Then I remember the goofy fucking space jumping final boss. And the Uncharted climbing controls were fucked. They'd fight your inputs I swear.

This was one of the better mid tier games that generation.

I don't know that this was soulless, or AAA. I just know my brother bought me this for my 12th birthday and I played it for like 15 minutes before I got bored.

people remember it because it keeps getting ported to fucking everything

In fairness we all forget about the Wii U version

remember when this was one of the biggest Sci Fi franchises in gaming?
me neither lol

it's a 9/10 and the best super hero game ever made

I finished this when Microsoft gave it away for free. I don't know if I just didn't know how to play but that final gauntlet was impossible compared to the rest of the game that was pretty easy. Good thing you have infinite lives.

The definition of wasted potential

I don't even know what the issue was with this game. People just bitched cause it had the Capcom logo. I also enjoyed Dark Void.

he's specifically talking about the wii u version

People don't even hate his game anymore, they just don't care that it existed at all

Or just the wii u in general

Its a shame with how much soul the original had

Human CHADpions get the fuck in here

It was soulful and soulless at the same time

Pretty much any Microsoft and Sony exclusive that isn't Halo, Uncharted, God Of War, Forza/GT, and TLOU.

When's the last time someone brings up Shadowrun or Resistance: Fall of Man for instance?

It would've been more memorable if it was an insanely edgy shitshow like we all originally thought based on the fuck you scene and the original trailer. It was just a really boring and mediocre beat em up. The Vergilsaurus rumor was the best part.

Timesplitters died for this

What a weird game. I remember almost none of the moment to moment gameplay, just that I liked it

>I don't even know what the issue was with this game
Mediocre Arkham clone inb4 Arkham was already mediocre because I both agree and disagree with that assessment. Nilin was cute though.

I also enjoyed remember me and dark void.. like they weren't great but had fun with them

And it looks like shit. Again.

That's the version most people played for mods tho

i bought that years ago in a buy x get x free thing at ebgames(used)

i havent even played it yet
played the demo when it came out tho and liked the gameplay but now i have so many games backlogs are becoming work

the intro is fucking torture, the jetpack was sick. just terrible presentation, very generic characters and story

SHIT

GROUND IS SHAKING

Attached: 91yR9p5XrUL._SY445_.jpg (316x445, 36.41K)

i have that still unopened

Fun fact: This game is a free download on Xbox 360/One now

Best part of it is the mexico mod.

I feel like there's a distinct, cohesive subgenre of "Japanese-published third-person shooter" that existed through the seventh gen and then just died. Like Inversion, Mindjack, Vanquish, Binary Domain, Resident Evil Revelations, and probably more games that I'm forgetting all have a lot of weirdly specific common themes and aesthetic choices despite all being made by different studios.

>that one time Bamco teased a bunch of Ace Combat universe shooters and then played it off as an April Fool's joke

Truly the J-TPS genre died before it could live

Attached: Namco_ps3_chain_limit.jpg (900x2246, 928.19K)

The remake/sequel is fucking GOAT though.

Binary Domain was underrated as fuck.

Yeah I agree, it's just weird that there were so many Japanese TPS games where you play a non-military government agent fighting robots in clean utopian city-projects that get destroyed during the story, with a third-act plot twist concerning a high-ranking official running a conspiracy, and usually some sort of gameplay gimmick superfluous to the actual third-person shooting.

Not entirely sure what Nintendo was thinking with this one.

Attached: Geist.jpg (3238x2144, 2.32M)

All those are called middleware none are AAA

SR4 was great, fuckwit.
The only problem I had with the game was how worthless cars were after an hour into the game.
SR2 and 4 are the best of the series.

calm down incel

who hurt you?

>nobody cares or talks about the franchise now
Let's be honest

Whatever they have planned for 5, it will be utter garbage, that and we are talking about deep silver, can't wait for the inevitable EGS shilling spam

Fun fact: Originally the grubs in Gears of War were going to be called Geists. Epic Games liked the name so much they considered naming the franchise with that name until this game came out

I still can't believe this was the same game until they sucked all the soul out of it in an attempt to compete with COD and Gears shit.

Attached: hqdefault.jpg (480x360, 38.85K)

No shit? I had no idea.

Looks like the art was supposed to sort of be more cartoony.

Attached: Fuse_OverstrikeSxS.jpg (600x337, 50.42K)

This game is surprisingly decent

Attached: pick a grears of war clone any gears of war clone.jpg (201x251, 10.18K)

I bought the Wii U version on launch because I was too much of a poorfag at the time to get a switch, and was also worried the console wouldn't sell well just like the Wii U. Now I wish I had the Switch version because my Wii U gamepad died, but I would have to buy the game and DLC all over again. Fuck I hate not having money.

can someone post the dobson comment

>hes telling the truth
good shit user i got something to to in between POE maps now

these games are all essential "i recognize the covers from scrolling through the xbox 360 marketplace a dozen timees, but never actually played any of them" core
