You can easily change the region to Australia on Switch. Don't even have to use another account or anything at all. Just log in accounts.nintendo.com go to settings and change the region. Connect to the eShop. Done. Afterward just change it back.

Do I not get the prologue of the two companions? Which means I'd have to play the game six times to see everything?

Yes, if you're playing the original, you don't get to play through the opening of your party members that shows you what happened to them before you meet them. You get a condensed montage sort of cutscene instead that tells you what happened. The intros are all really short though and characters end up in the same place, so you can just play through them separately if you want.

In the original, you get a quick rundown on their backstory with a few scenes in black & white. In the remake, you can get that same quick rundown, or you can optionally choose to play through their entire introduction in full the same as you did with your main party member.

Okay then, I'll play it three times and then just play the prologues of the three characters I didn't choose.
So far as I've played the remake interestingly is going for a "HD" version of the ost in that it's extremely close instrument-wise. Reminds me of those remastered version of some OSTs people have done where they try to restore the OSTs of games like DKC or Golden Sun by finding the original soundfonts.

Why would they not? On both catridge based consoles out today (3DS and Switch) save files are not saved to the cartridge, but to the system memory. Not only that, but games on the cartridge are identical in every way to their digital versions. The saves will transfer. Both versions of the game look for save files in the exact same place.
