Iconoclasm is a great brainlet filter but the boss design itself was really phoned in. I mean the bird effects are cool but you're essentially fighting an inanimate object that doesn't do anything itself.

I hated it at first but now that I've had the chance to reclear it a couple of times as well as have the group I'm in change our approach to some of the mechanics it's not that bad
I like it more than Eden's Gate but at the same time I can't see myself doing weekly reclears/pug parties as long as I did in the previous tier. 5.3 and onwards will be rough

If the game mechanics allow for that complexity, and that complexity isn't directly translated to just higher DPS. In a simple game like XIV it'd never work.
I don't think complexity should be the measure for a jobs damage potential though, I already see it as a reward in itself for making the game more fun to actually play.
