Xbox Series X controller will use AA batteries

It's 2020 and Microsoft still thinks this is acceptable.

Does it have a gyro scope?

God I hope not, gimmicks need to die, and Nintendo needs to be forced to realize no one cares about them anymore except a very vocal retard minority. Look at VR, its already dead in the publics eyes, the fad passed, just like the Wiimotes motion control.

So you can use generic rechargeable batteries? That's pretty sweet.

>complaining about replaceable batteries

Dumb phone poster

ugh it current gear why it dont plugged too wall???????

tfw cant buy any new controllers cause they all have meme batteries and dont just plug in without a small shitty usb end that goes bad in a month

replacing the DS4 battery only takes like 5 mins, you just need to unscrew 5 regular screws and disconnect the old battery

If it had a gyro scope for motion aiming I will probably get it. There's no way I am aiming with fucking sticks alone.

Good, I can use batteries, rechargable batteries, or simply plug in a cable and not have to worry about buying a new controller when the shitty pre-packed battery (aka playstation) dies within 2 months.

Why are xbox controllers so shit? the bumper buttons are so bad

It can use AA batteries for all I care, but why can't I charge them in the controller itself? Why do I need a separate battery charger?

They can at least ship it with a charge and play kit. Shit is only like $20. They honestly can spring for this shit?

>he has to plugin his controller when it's low on battery

Attached: file.png (1000x1000, 569.85K)

>2 months
6 years and still going strong

Tha's great, i wish the dualshock was the same.

is this true? massive fucking fail then

The profits on those play and charge kits was too much to ignore I guess. Only thing that even uses AA or AAA batteries anymore are remotes, Xbox controllers and vibrators.

and what happens when they stop making them

use a cable

There is no mention of it that I was able to find. Ignoring OP's trivial complaint, it looks like the controller actually could end up several generations behind everything else. Hopefully they just don't realize they should be advertising it as a feature.

Or some third party make one. It is just a standard battery with a standard cable.

Good, why don't you own Rechargable AA batteries anyways. They last for like 30 hrs and when they die I pop in the next set and charge the dead one.

Meanwhile sony skimps on the battery, it only lasts like 10hrs, you can't remove it, need a charge cable and it's just shit.

everything should accept rechargeable AA batteries wherever possible for the convenience of instant swapping.

Microsoft can get away with it as they didn't stuck a retarded led flashlight to the controller.

nice, fuck proprietary shit, more excited for the new controllers than the consoles themselves

Or get a power bar from the one dollar store and get 20+ hours on your DS4 before you have to charge the bar and not the controller.

my switch pro controller lasts over 40 hours and has gyro aiming

>I want a proprietary battery
fuck off

But gyro isn't a gimmick? Motion controls are obviously a gimmick but twisting a little the controller to adjust your aim in an fps feels fantastic

Are you retarded? Gyro is way better than thumbstick aiming.

Nu-Cuckbox controller is a fucking brick

If you are a spastic maybe.

What's the battery life on ps4 and x1 gamepads?

Do you have any fucking clue what you're talking about?

>proprietary battery

DS4 uses a generic wireless phone battery you can buy on every hardware store wtf are you talking about

I would be okay with this if this crap came in the box but of course not, at the end while sony is prob making their battery life bigger, getting type C fast charge and wathever microsoft is being the jewest company of there
It's fucking 2020

Attached: 15156150.jpg (522x565, 20.04K)

Yes.
Every one praising gyro aim just sucked on stick before.

It's a fact dummy, motion controls are so much an upgrade over using sticks alone, that if every shooter had it enabled tonight, tomorrow would be a world wide call for it be banned, it's that much better.

enlist in the army and get shot

You're gonna play with a power bar taped to your wireless controller???

youtube.com/watch?v=binPB4YbWmM
get educated faggot

>all these boomers thinking disposable batteries are ok for a controller in 2020
I bet you keep your batteries in the fridge too.

Attached: 7865uyjhg456hu76ufc654ui68hoecddf.jpg (624x477, 55.07K)

THIS. IS. FUCKING. BULLSHIT.
PS4 controller battery life = 10 or 15 minutes
Meanwhile, the Pro Controller for the Switch lasts for more then 60 minutes.
Yet Microsoft still cannot make a controller that doesn't need you to keep buying batteries what the fuck?

Imagine not owning BATTERIES. fuck you

or i use what i already have that works on more than just 1 thing that barely gets used

when you are so bad at vidya so you need gyro to aim shit

It's not, it just helps out suckers with a placebo effect. Turn down the deadzone on a stick, turn up sensitivity and boom you can make precise fast movements. While on gyro you have to hope that stupid ass phone tec measures the change in the earth magnet field right.

>still thinks this is acceptable.
It is.

Yes, why not? Cable is long enough to place it next to me on the chouch or the table.

replaceable batteries are better than having to tether your controller to a 5v power adapter for an hour every hour. Xbox controller have always been the best precisely because they've always supported removable batteries.

Plus they'll probably just make a rechargeable battery pack for it anyway.

Can you jam AAA into your phone? Can you hook up your phone to a power bar?

>plug it in and use it as a wired controller
>buy a rechargeable battery pack that lasts longer than AA batteries
but uh yeah fuck ms or whatever for looking out for us I guess

>XBS1XS1 controller won't have gyros
>Another generation of gimped shooters with no gyro aim because muh feature parity

How much longer until microsoft realizes that gyroscopes aren't a meme?

>all those xbots ignoring the fact that DS4 batteries can be replaced in 5 minutes with only a regular screwdriver and a functional brain

like clockwork

>PS5
type C, fast charge and wireless charge

>Xbox Series X
batteries........

Attached: images.png (204x247, 6.91K)

>It's not, it just helps out suckers with a placebo effect.
I don't want to wait entire frames when I cann just snap my wrists and instantly align within some 120 degrees.
If full Gyro where patched in forrr PS4 tomorrow for all FPS games, it would doom the leaderboards over night.

It's idiotic and it annoyed me on the Xbox One as well but I get by using Panasonic Eneloop Pros in all of my Xbox One controllers.

Here's something you two haven't thought of, sony had gyroscope controllers on TWO consoles but never implemented it in either of its first or 3rd person shooter franchises with multiplayer, take a fucking guess why.

I'd rather have the ability to swap out batteries than have a battery permanently attached that will lose its maximum charge over time.

You don't need to buy new batteries. You can use rechargeable AAs or the play and charge kit. This mindset of doing new things for the sake of doing them is why I don't have a headphone jack on my tablet or cell phone and everything has a shelf life determined by the preinstalled battery since you can't change it anymore.

Thank god, I'll take a battery I have plenty of lying around over waiting for it to charge in the middle of a game

It's nice to still be able to use everyday alkaline batteries which are cheap and plentiful instead of a proprietary lithium block

Yes...versus the literal 20 seconds it takes to swap batteries. Truly innovative, thanks Sony.

>he thinks microsoft isn't going to monetise the controller battteries
point and laugh

No one wants waggle controls with non Nintendo games.

>batteries are bad
why? It's just rechargable lithium batteries inside your shitty dualshock or pro controller.

Attached: 1312852842204.png (352x266, 130.59K)

At least MS are winning in the controller department. Anyone complaining about this is either baiting or an honest to god retard

I would prefer a cord.

Who said anything about disposable, retard?

replacing the xbox one batteries takes like 10 seconds

>I'd rather have the ability to swap out batteries than have a battery permanently attached that will lose its maximum charge over time.
good thing literally all modern controllers have batteries that can be replaced, while microsoft is still stuck using AAs for some reason

>why yes thats my phone how can you tell?

Attached: your average xchad.jpg (650x488, 19.79K)

you disarm the joystick in middle of the game?

It would not

>snap my wrists
Or move your thumb a fraction of that and get the same result, if you just turn up the sensitivity.

Lmao get fucked sony cucks

>I'd rather have the ability to swap out batteries than have a battery permanently attached
Exactly what you can do with the DS4.

>all those sonigs thinking spending half an hour disassembling your controller to replace non-standard battery pack you have to order from chinese ebay is the same as spending 5 seconds popping open a battery compartment and swapping out some dollar store AAs

are they proprietary as well?

not without voiding your warranty or needing to get a fucking screwdriver.

>mfw sony fanboys still defend left analog stick in the wrong position

Attached: 1328067933743.png (200x200, 39.82K)

Your legs would wiggle with your neck in a noose, but you would be too dumb and ball less to even do that, retard.

Attached: 1583768877001.png (377x377, 87.26K)

> half an hour disassembling
For 5 screws, damn Shitboxers are stupid.

Moving the goalpost. The battery takes years to die, at that point you have no warranty.

You know rechargeable batteries are a thing, right?

because you're not suppose to be replacing lithium rechargeables every fews hours like your xbox controllers.

not even nintendo (the company notorious for being behind in tech) is this retarded when it comes to their controllers.

You're an utter retard.

Basednycucks are genuinely seething lmao

There is no world where a built in battery is better than interchangeable ones. Zero. Convenience should never be stripped from a consumer. I bet you faggots are ok with phones eliminating swappable battiers and headphone jacks too

>all these Xfags thinking that the battery in the DS4 only lasts a year and replacing it is a common thing
The analog sticks and triggers will crap out from wear and tear long before the battery stops holding a charge.

You still need a screwdriver to open the device after buying a replacement.

Meanwhile its taken me 10 seconds to pop the cover off, swap two AA batteries, and go back to what i was doing.

Are you braindead?
Gyro works about the same as mouse: If you can do the movement in 1-2 frames, its instant.
For sticks, you need to:
1. Crank up sensitivity to max
2. Pray the game doesn't amplify the minimum values, which fucks up all aiming
3. Doesn't implement software deadzone
4. Gamepad doesn't implement a software deadzone
5. Spring has enough G of resistance to give a even response curve, very rare
6. And you still need to wait for the camera to turn, due the way sticks are programmed to interface with cameras

based. I can use rechargeable batteries and swap them out instantly instead of having the controller plugged in 90% of the time because the built in battery is fucked after a few years like my ps4 controller. That shit only lasts like 2 hours now.

What?

I hate charging, so that's always better for me. I buy 100 batteries from Amazon like once a year for a tenner.

and you and your goons are pretending battery packs aren't a thing. Be real, we all have an agenda here.

Yeah, but you have to do this every 30 hours or so. Against doing it once a controller life time or even never.

And its so little of a inconvenience it doesn't even matter

>Be a sonybro
>Have a controller that dies every 2 hours and you need to charge them again
>"Y-you can replace the internal battery! J-j-just replace it with a screwdriver and buy it from some chink on ebay instead of getting rechargeable AA batteries!"
LMAO, sonybros are on full damage control.

just buy eneloop faggot
why would you buy an xbox though

>type C, fast charge and wireless charge
ots funny. MS had all those features put into the Mk.2 elite controller but failed to bring it to SeX.
SAD!

having charged batteries always on standby sounds like an inconvenience compared to not worrying about it at all

I noticed the Pro PS4 controllers (light strip up top) have about 3x the life of the regular.

Attached: P9221041-600x450.jpg (600x450, 23.28K)

This is what console war shit does to your brain

>PS4 controller battery life: 4 hours
>Xbox One controller battery life: 30 hours
Why are they so bad? A single AA battery lasts a full year on my bluetooth mouse.

>type C
in SeX controller
>fast charging
in SeX controller
>wireless charge
meme feature

Hardly an inconvenience when you have many devices that rely on Replacement AA batteries.

Your mouse has at most, six buttons, zero rumble, can't power a headset, and a more limited range.

>buy power a switch controller that uses batteries
>batteries last a week (say 25 hours or so) before needing to change
>play PS4
>controller needs charging after 6 hours

Attached: 1243860413692.jpg (202x190, 6.94K)

I prefer corded controllers after digging out my ps2 to play it

Really wish we return to form. Controllers do not need to be like 60 bucks due to structuring around wireless capabilities

just plug in a cord nigger

Yea sure, you have some magical lithium polymer/ion battery which last forever without losing significant charge over time ... I'm sure you also have an AMOLED panel device which doesn't suffer from permanent image retention - are you Johne Linnemann.?

Hint, they last around 300 - 500 charges max (it's kinda a quality lottery like display panels)

OH NO NO NO WE GOT COCKY SONYBROS

weird, i don't have any devices that rely on AA batteries. maybe you should try living in the future, it makes life easier.

>Controllers do not need to be like 60 bucks due to structuring around wireless capabilities
That's not why they are $60.

>Gyro works about the same as mouse
No, absolutely not. Gyro is an crutch compared to an optical mouse. It is dependent of measurement of the magnetic earth field in three dimensions, it is slow and imprecise compared to an mouse which just has to check if some pixels change, between two ticks or whatever you call it, in 2 dimensions.

The future is too dystopian, soiny boy, I'd rather live in the present

>Oculus touch controllers
>TV Remote
>Arduino power-bank

huh.
Cope harder, sonyfag

Fucking thumbsticks! I swear gimmicks need to die.

Attached: 1457624671977.png (640x480, 439.7K)

£15 new, before you compare cheaper brands.

Attached: file.png (1012x1281, 943.7K)

You are an even bigger retard... jesus christ this chinese cartoon painting forum

You people deserve to be robbed

My guess is that they just don't want to upset the status quo. People are happy playing games with sub par controls, so why ask them to learn something new? Keep in mind that even if gyro is optional, the difference in capability would still effectively make it mandatory for people to learn. At the very least, the best Sony study did use gyro in the best PS4 game.

Attached: 1486781708161.png (673x623, 599.86K)

please don't die on this hill, you're stance is genuinely fucking stupid.
