I think Geno's costume not coming back raises eyebrows, but it's possible he's either not in or is going to be an upgraded costume. 2B is a little too sex-idol for Smash, but she's not Mai Shiranui.

I think Sora would be both companies' first choice. It's just a matter of whether Disney signed on.

What I mean is, I think Platinum is capable of bringing Nier: Automata to Switch and would do a good job since they know the hardware. And I think it'd sell really well, especially with a Smash promotion.

Sora > 2B > Geno in terms of fun. Want to play Super Mario RPG, but I know it's just nostalgia and memes talking with most people when it comes to Geno. It would make a lot of people happy, like Banjo, but also like Banjo, I don't think the character would be very interesting. But who knows, this DLC batch taught me to trust Sakurai can make fun characters, so maybe I will be wrong regarding Geno.

I think it's very unlikely we get two of these characters, but it's not impossible. I think the second character would be Geno if that were the case.

Does Disney really own Sora's IP outright? SE is still important, because they will want a port of something if they add him, but I assumed the IP was jointly owned.

I think Geno would be a lot of fun to be honest. You should definitely play Super Mario RPG because it's a great game, but you'll also see why people have thought he would be great for Smash for so long.

Yeah. Disney owns everything KH-Original, Square owns the Final Fantasy stuff. We've known this for a while. That being said, if the Disney legal rep who was at a certain KH3 gameplay event is to be believed, Disney has to ask for Nomura's direct approval on anything KH-related. This is speculation, but most people believe this is because Nomura was livid after the Sora mascot costume Disney used for an Epcot event back in 2001.

I don't know. From what I have seen of him, he seems like a projectile-heavy character and I hate those. Sora and 2B would be more melee-oriented, and Sora has magic and 2B her pod for projectiles. I probably won't ever play SMRPG unless it comes to SNES Online, cause I am a lazy fuck with a huge backlog.

There's so many possibilities for Sora. I think he could be an absolutely amazing character.

Geno would definitely be timed hits. I hope they can make it fun. I feel almost certain his Up B will be him turning into a cannon.

Sora's the sort of character who could either be gimmick city or FE-tier boring. His moveset's so wide you could probably slap together 3 or 4 characters from it.
Geno I think would be about as interesting as Banjo: one consistent gimmick (probably timed hits) and the majority of his moveset is about what you'd expect, though not outright boring or anything.
I don't know shit about 2B.

Probably Sora, people will say but Disney however they already said they're fine with it and Yoko Shimomura already works on Smash so I dont think she would be stingy like whoever owns FF and DQ midi music

What’s with everyone saying Sora is deconfirmed because some “insider” assumed that Disney didn’t want him in? They’ve literally said every year at their D23 expos that they want him in smash bros and to work with Nintendo in some way, it’s just up to Nomura since they consult him before doing anything with KH. (He’s good friends with Sakurai so idk why he’d say no especially since he let KH crossover with Disney Tsum Tsum and other weird mobile games)

Oh, yeah. I see there's an issue with Koichi Sugiyama keeping all the rights to the music instead of SE themselves. That wouldn't be a problem for Sora and Geno. Their games are scored by Yoko Shimomura who would be more than willing to play ball here. And 2B--actually, I have no idea, even though I've listened to the soundtrack a lot.

But I think lots of people predicted the other three. The only surprise with Banjo was that they made it work, not that people weren't predicting it. And Byleth and Erdrick were absolutely some of the most guessed characters.
