Why doesn't Crash attract as much autism and anger as Sonic? They both went through shitty downfalls

Crash characters are too "ugly", so they don't hold the same visual appeal to autists that Sonic characters do.
It also helps that Sonic characters are all designed around an easy-to-follow template, another aspect autists tend to eat up.

I mean, Wrath of Cortex wasn't too good, and I'm saying that as a Crashfag, Most Crash games past PS1 era were crappy.

While a lot of people have played Crash games, I don't see a lot of people get real attached to the franchise. It could easily stop getting games and I don't feel like there'd be that many people who would really care.

Crash isn't cool, he's a lovable oaf which you wouldn't want to be if you were autistic. You would want to be "cool" like sonic. Also plots like shadow and SA2 attract OC shonen autism

No even in the PS1, the first game is just brutal. The save system is horrible, the way you get gems is downright evil, especially in later levels like Sunset Vista.

By the time 06 graced store shelves, Sonic had already built enough momentum, no pun intended, to keep fans entertained for years despite Sega. He had 3 cartoons, 2 comic series, an anime, an OVA, and dozens of games at that point.

Meanwhile Crash had 3 games and a minigame collection before the rug was pulled out from under him. Not nearly enough time to build an autistic following.

One thing that really sticks out to me was this one part where you reach a closed gate, and you're told to find the key - and the camera pans straight to the key's location - which is a few meters behind you. Did the game designers just hate their fucking job?
