CTR has deeper mechanics but worse online (which is kind of sad when your online is worse than a nintendo game), and a terrible community. MK8 is shallow but easier to pick up and play with friends/family, and is probably the only online nintendo game that functions properly.

I love Crash Team Racing and I think its to the games benefit but I kinda hate the whole online structure and how it seems like a free to play online game.

In that regard I do prefer how straightforward Mario Kart is and 200 CC is based as fuck.

Ultimately I think CTR is the better game but I just prefer Mario Kart 8? I don't know how to explain it maybe I am retarded I don't know.

Markio Kart is casual friendly so it hits a bigger market for the type of players that don't want to put in effort to 'git gud'

Crash team racing is best to this day I still play it with my mom and sisters
Crash has far better weapons time trial battle arena and didn't make a million spin off garbage games I even think with some tweaking tag team racing could have been a great game even though it was bare bones

Crash has better graphics and presentation, but Mario has tighter controls and wasn't fucked in the ass by microtransactions. Overall, Mario Kart is the better game, even though the coomer part of my brain keeps trying to argue otherwise.
