Gungeon is the worst game of its type I’ve ever played and I dumped 110 hours into Nuclear Throne in no time.

Imagine Binding of Isaac mixed with Nuclear Throne at like a third of the speed of either game but you barely ever get any useful upgrades, it takes like 20 fucking minutes to fully explore a floor, every weapon upgrade you get requires ammo and health and ammo drops are rare as fuck. Now add the fact that if health or ammo drop and you're at full health or don't need ammo and you do what every single other rogue lite let's you do and leave it for when you need it the game deletes the pickup and insults you for being so stupid. Now add artificial difficulty out the ass.

Congratulations, you now have a game that is boring as fuck and frustrating to play that normies will praise all day long because Nuclear Throne and Isaac are too weird for them so they trick themselves into thinking Gungeon is actually better.

Iconoclasts was a 10/10 for me. I hadn't had that much fun with a sidescroller since I played Cave Story. Tons of bosses and fun sequences and the pixel art is glorious

This. Iconoclasts is fucking great. I don't want to be a storyfag either but despite being a "pixelshit platformer" as people put it the story really got me. Certain sequences stuck with me for weeks after beating it, and it's one of the few games that had me looking up lore theories and explanations because I wanted to know more about the world. IIRC the whole thing was done by one dude and it shows. It's his uncompromising vision and you feel the connection there that you don't get in other blockbuster titles.

The game is certainly fun the first time through, but the appeal of Isaac and EtG is how you are constantly unlocking new items and weapons and even in runs that are fucked you can achieve something. NT doesn't really have that appeal, gold weapons don't cut it.

its a million times better its actually fast and you can steamroll the first levels when you know what to do compared to the slough that is gunngeon early game. t. somone who bought gungeon hoping to relive the magic that is Nuclear Throne

Not much to really learn other than memorize enemy behavior, honestly
Melee weapons will also be your best friend, especially in late game

The best tip that I figured out is don't try to grab all the rads if there are still a bunch of enemies around. You won't be able to use that xp if you end up dying trying to get it. Also melee weapons with long arms is op and basically gives you an instant win if you play careful

He's always been a whore for social media brownie points. Putting the game on sale now when everyone already has it to "help those suffering from isolation due to coronavirus" will get him tons of asspats.

i 100%'d gungeon you piece of shit and it's a good game with much more content to offer than nt but it falls flat gameplay-wise due to the boring as fuck first 3 chambers whereas nuclear throne is dynamic as fuck, its just much more fun to be this powerhouse steamrolling through every level while being on the verge of death at the same time. And don't act like etg doesn't have any grind because we both know it fuckin does
