Why not?

Why not?

because nintendo fucking sucks

would feel weird without c-buttons, right analog stick is not a good substitute (especially the drifting joycon stick)

Wobuffet!

It would be fine you tard

They'll save it for Switch 2

architecture is weird and they dont want to devote that many resources to reverse engineering it to emulate efficiently

N64 emulation is still pretty fucked we just have the power to brute through it
i mean yeah theres N64 re-releases, i just think they dont like how sloppy it is

I disagree, it feels like shit without the c-buttons or a reasonable substitute for them

What was wrong with the VC releases?

saturation/colors are off, framerate isn't consistent with the original games (sometimes worse where it shouldn't be), controls don't map well on modern controllers

nothing, the N64 is just a weird architecture

none of the public emulation projects have really "solved" N64 emulation for them to copy source code from
its probably more annoying and more intensive to do than NES or SNES that have higan or other places to borrow from

The only good N64 games that they own are Mario 64, Paper Mario and Kirby 64. The rest of the system's good games comes from Rare and the chance of those coming to a modern Nintendo console is unlikely. Every thing else on the console was garbage

Honestly I loved N64, but I wish it hadn't had such a goofy ass controller because most modern controllers can't map easily to it without it feeling janky af. I hope one day, 6 face buttons become standard again. I do miss the extra capability that was possible. And it would be much better for both emulation and modern games to have access to more inputs.

Smash?
Mario Kart?
Ocarina of Time?
Majora's Mask?
Star Fox 64?
Pokemon Snap?
Pokemon Stadium?
Mario Party(s)?
Harvest Moon 64?
Mario Tennis?
Sin and Punishment?

Is that enough?

Because SNES and NES > N64

That'd require effort

I agree. Does anyone know of an N64 adapter that properly supports the Retrofighter 64 controller? Mine doesn't so I have to use the I-Buffalo 6 button controller and honestly it's pretty ass.

it was completely fine (and even preferable for some games) when they did it on the wii u

Why not GBA games instead?

People wanna play some Wario Land 4 and Pokémon Emerald.

Who the fuck wants to play either of those abysmal games?

GBA had more good games than the N64

Because people actually want it.

>would feel weird without c-buttons

based and wobupilled

It's unbelievable how slow they are at this. There's no reason they couldn't put out three games every month.

I have a flash cart so I've never had to emulate N64 games how fucky is it?

because nintendo doesn't care anymore, now consoom this rehashed zelda ubi game and another mario

Could hold ZL to switch between DPad and C Buttons

Sorry OP I dont give a fuck about n64

where the FUCK is gamecube at?

Attached: ava.jpg (1118x629, 77.76K)

FAGGOTS you just put the A and B buttons on L and R

Finally, I can play all 6 N64 games that are actually good. What a piece of shit that console was.

OP, Yas Forums is now mostly zooms who grew up with GC.

Then pick good ones.

Everything popular works pretty well by now
We have the computing power to brute through it easily.
It's just not as elegant under the hood as Dolphin or Higan.

That's a decent solution, but you need to be able to use it on the right hand side because there are games that make MUCH more liberal use of the C Buttons than just Ocarina, such as fighting games.

All shit or made outdated by later entries

Then just use a Gamecube controller. The X, Y, and Z buttons are fine substitutes.

Ideally it'd be like the Wii U virtual console where you could remap buttons.

imagine playing this on the go

I don't agree, the Wii U VC is the main reason I feel this way in the first place

>Yas Forums is now mostly zooms who grew up with GC.
try wii and wii U

Impossible....

you need a dpad on the left, and 6 buttons on the right (4 C-buttons + A and B buttons)

That guy did, Wario Land 4 is a 10/10

what on earth are you talking about?
that's even fewer buttons than a joycon/switch pro controller. You need more face buttons, not fewer.

No wonder they don't know what video games are.

Because Nintendo doesn't know how to emulate it. Any piece of shit can emulate SNES and NES, 64 would be a buggy mess. Remember that mini 64 rumor? Anyone with a single brain cell could tell you that shit wouldn't happen.

You're a dismissive sack of shit and objectively wrong since N64 Mario Party has yet to be bested.

N64 games where good on Wii U

I grew up with NES and SNES but that was only because a family friend's son had died and he let me have his consoles.

I miss back when there was no distinction in my mind between "old" and "new" games.

They ain't gonna bother and if they do it'll end up something like
>add GameBoy support, no Pokemon
>announce a new more expensive online tier
>N64 and GBA games
>new Tetris 99 type of game
We are halfway through the Switch's life cycle according to Nintendo and we only have NES and SNES.
I can imagine Earthbound getting a lazy remake in vein of Link's Awakening just so they can charge you extra for it.

Because it would take effort. NES and SNES emulation is easy. N64 is not.

no user it is never enough

Get a can of contact cleaner.

Bullshit, the WiiU virtual store had N64 games on it. Nintendo is just lazy/incompetent.

Also you can't play DKC 1-3 on the Switch either, what a bunch of fucking retards.

not necessary when I can send them in for free repair

He said "playing," not "struggling to control for two minutes before giving up and doing something better with your time"

>guys wii u had it therefore it'd take no effort at all to port it to the switch
that's not how emulation works, especially for N64 games where emulation has always been inaccurate. They'd basically need to customize the emulation per game, due to all the fuckery N64 cartridges were notorious for.

Wait, was Mario Party N64 actually better than Mario Party DS? Because I've played every one that's come out since DS and disliked all of them.

weird how no one noticed fpbp

2 and 3 are ranked pretty highly by most but DS is also up there so your experience may vary. Grab am emulator and some friends and try it out. You can also netplay them.

What are you even trying to say here? The WiiU was a piece of garbage that sold 53 units and yet Nintendo still took the time to port N64 games to it.

The fact that they're not doing the same for the Switch is because of sheer laziness.

>and yet Nintendo still took the time to port N64 games to it.
yeah, when there was literally nothing else releasing on it

God, I love Ava. I wish she did more foot videos.

also Wii U used the same powerpc architecture of the Wii, so porting over VC games from the Wii would've been trivial compared to the newer emulation built for Switch Tegra architecture.

2 and 3 are great.

Nintendo is too greedy to hand out nes, snes, and n64 games for $20 a year, they’d have to bump up the price or make it a separate subscription
