Yhorm.
Post bosses or shut up.

I liked Abyss Watchers, other than the fact that they dropped if you sneezed too hard. Maybe if they were a later boss they'd be even better. 10/10 them song.

I'd be surprised if Nintendo lovers hated the dark souls series.
Meaning that wojak sorta contradicts itself. But then again, that filename. Are you that one wojak autist spending hundreds on shitty shoops?

>I'd be surprised if Nintendo lovers hated the dark souls series.
There's an autistic nintendofagg that occasionally shits himself and starts ranting about how bad the series is as a whole. He likes to post Bing Bing Wahoo 64 webms.
>Are you that one wojak autist spending hundreds on shitty shoops?
No, I got this from a .zip file containing a ton of wojaks that was distributed on this shithole.

Abyss watchers had a really cool moveset it wasn't too over top and spammy like the later bosses in the game the music was pretty good. Shame about the arena though it was a bit too big

Off yourself

how was this kino user?
no offence, just curious
i love the game but that boss was so easy

Midir in DS3 he forces you to git gud if you somehow scraped by all the way there

Spectacle over substance. I'm not a fan of that fight either, but it is quite spectacular at the least.
Their theme song is among the BEST in all of vidya. If it were mastered/mixed better, people would see that. I cannot get over how good Kitamura nailed their theme. They should have been the last on the list of cinder lords with music like that.

Totally mournful, such gravitas that says more than any item description detailing their plight ever could. It screams "these are the Abyss Watchers, and they've given up."

So why were they killing each other? What was the wolfs blood, some weird bloodborne reference?

That file might be from the same guy then.

Attached: 5de.png (861x643, 25.36K)

Abyss Watchers are sworn to fight the Abyss, and they're corrupted by the Abyss judging by the black tendrils on the capes so they're fighting each other over and over in a madness until you put them to rest.

Either gone hollow, or once they realized what was going on they figured there was nothing left but to kill each other.
>Wolf's blood
Some nonsense thing just meaning that they take after Artorias to contain the Abyss.

gael's theme is pretty similar and also great

The Jeanne fight in Bayo.

Brainlet here

Somebody explain DS3 or at least correct me where I'm wrong

Basically its been ages since DS1 and there's been countless cycles of light and dark. We play as one of the unkindled. Unkindled are undeads who attempted to link the fire but didn't have the mettle for it and thus were burnt to ash by the Soul of Cinder. On the opposite end, we have the Lords of Cinder, who succeded in linking the fire.

When DS3 begins, the first flame is fading. Having nobody around to fix this, *someone* rings the bell at firelink which *somehow* causes the previous lords of cinder and unkindled to rise. The previous lords of cinder don't much like the idea of being burnt to crisp again so they all promptly fuck off, and our job as unkindled is to basically drag them back to their thrones and nick their souls so we ourselves can claim the title of lord of cinder and become worthy of linking the first flame.

Meanwhile the continued cycles have gone on for so long causality and natural laws are getting so fucked up that corruption is widespread and different places are merging in on each other (Dreg heap, Anor Londo being next to Irithyll) as well as time (Us seeing an alternate timeline in untended graves behind the consumed kings garden) are completely fucked.

And for some reason there's a bunch of angels everywhere

>YOUR DARK SOUL... GIVE IT TO ME!
Woah miyazaki truly blew it out of the park

Yeah but how does us killing them cause them to die permanently when they can kill each other just fine and bounce back

TO ME, MY KNIGHTS

Ludwig was fucking amazing 11/10 boss in his second phase. HOWEVER, his first phase is fucking dogshit. Overall it's a good boss and thematically it fits perfectly, but mechanically the first phase is fucking ass IMO. He just flails around too much and you can't appreciate any of the animations.

Attached: Infernalrealm.jpg (400x224, 75.84K)

The wolf blood was keeping them going all spread around and after you kill the first phase it all goes into the main leader dude and makes him killable.

You pretty much got it. The merging however isn't only due to the many cycles. It's implied that the flame itself is doing it(not sentient but kind of like plants can react) so that it can survive.

Gael's is superb, but it's not quite hall of greatness. But it IS superb. The first third is in line with the Abyss Watchers through the lens of "these people were once great men and now reduced to this." The second and third phases are where it really shines, but it needs that first third for these to work as well as they do. The second phase in particular, as Gael stands on his own two feet like the man he once was, is glorious. Marching and procession like, and Gael was a member of an army from who knows how long ago. Did he use his repeater crossbow back then? Who knows, but it is very human and military like compared to his haunched over first phase. And the third phase is a fusion of the first and the second. Chaotic, warring, Gael himself incorporating his repeater with his flippity flips. A true finale.

You got it dead on. Everything to do with angels was cut so nobody knows what it was or could have been.

what's funny is that Gael actually turns hollow during his 2nd and third phase

I've heard that said, but his voice is too human for that. Obviously From Soft never thought that far, but to me he hollows out at his third phase, the dark soul daring to escape his physical form. It's the only way the three musical phases makes sense to me. If only he had a dark sigil then he would've been alright.

Also the fact that they only kept killing each other's bodies, which meant the wolf's blood in their bodies would revive them after a while, only to fall again at the hands of another watcher ad infinitum.

Only reason they are permanantly put down by the ashen one is because you take the wolf's blood's cinders AFTER it pools into one body, which means none of the other watchers posses the blood that revives them anymore.

Angels probaly are related to lothric. Their projectiles share the same appearence as the twin princes' magic and getrude's miracles (divine pillars of light).

The boss would by much better if it skipped the first phase. Gank bosses have never been good.

I actually like the first phase because they also fight each other like before you walked in. The fight itself would've been much better with the main boss's hp doubled on both phases, and if it spawned like 7 other watchers during the fight for a 4v4.

>final boss tears open a portal to the "celestial realm", where the one controlling the heroes resides
>It turns on the 3DS camera and shows your face on the other side of the portal

Attached: im so wet.jpg (300x250, 12.73K)

nope, both his 2nd and 3rd phase because the hollowslayer greatsword and the old wolf curved sword gets extra dmg bonus

It's literally the opposite. The first phase is stronger mechanically, that's not to say the second phase isn't also strong but it's the presentation that steals the show.
He has a more varied and moveset moveset in his first phase. There's the arcane attack, the charge, and the delayed body slam. The only notable move he does in the second phase is the massive shockwave.

HOW MY BLOOD BOILS

Gael was indeed the perfect send off for Dark Souls but fuck me do I wish they either made Gael the true final boss of the game or made it so that we get an alternate ending in the DLC. Like I get it, the girl is gonna paint a picture with the Dark Soul that never rots but we never see it happen, hell no one seems to acknowledge that you have the Dark Soul with you. It felt so anti-climatic. The DLC almost feels like a spin-off from the game that tries to tie in all the loose ends but never gets acknowledged.

Attached: vergil.gif (524x200, 1.66M)

Ehh, like I said.
>Obviously From Soft never thought that far
In each game, we've never seen someone go from total lucidity to hollow in quite literally less than a minute if one subscribes to the idea. Can it happen? The scene demonstrates thus, but as a result, it's not nearly as interesting that way. Hollows are beings who swing wildly this way and that. That's Gael's first phase. His second phase is all man.

Attached: Crossbow Gael.gif (500x194, 2.31M)

>I actually like the first phase because they also fight each other like before you walked in.
They never did for me which may be the reason why I disliked that phase.

>Fights like a beast with no sense of control while retaining his last bit of humanity
>Going hollow and losing his sanity triggers a disciplined fighting style that is the culmination of his life as a slave knight.
>Direct foil to Ludwig fight
HOLY SHIT FUCKING KINOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Yuka Kitamura is so overrated. There are far better composers in the series especially from Bloodborne.

Yeah maybe it's just because I played through the game too much that I became good enough to think it's good. I'm probably was pissed off at the beginning for having to spam dodge roll trying to dodge 2 watchers spamming their 3 attack combos at me.

At the same time he becomes more human in later phases he's like an animal in the first phase and then he stands up

I just killed isshin sword saint. When does sekiro get hard?
Not even kidding.

Exactly. That's why it's disappointing to know that the HSGS does its bonus damage to the second phase.

Speaking of Gael, what happens to painting loli during ringed city anyways? Gael still searching for her implies she's still alive when you time travel right? Or is he in denial?

I just got to the Grand Archives, should I buy the DLC now so I don't accidentally go to NG+ before I can try it?

So does that mean that the world outside of the painting basically keeps going with the cycles of light and dark, but the girls painting, which contains a new world is finally free of the cycles and the rot that comes with them?

youtube.com/watch?v=TDwYuEFFsoM
Dragging boss corpses back to kill them again was always funny to me, and the music is so fucking good

The game will ask you if you want to go to NG+. There's a Steam sale, isn't the DLC on sale? Usually it's super cheap.

You actually respawn after the final boss in Firelink shrine, it won't automatically send you to NG+ like the other games.

I'll just post the whole thing:

The painted world will be everlasting according to 2 things:

1) the dark soul as been since the beginning of the souls series, it is the foundation of men and everything that came with it.

2) This is the most important, Gael's character and his ambition.
Because we know that Gael really believed in this world, and went to extreme lenghts just to make sure he would succeed.
For one, he left the painting girl alone. And that must have been quite the hard task due to the fact that she calls Gael her uncle (Gael is not LITERALLY her uncle mind you), the fact that she keeps calling him not simply Gael or "person" but "uncle", and also due to the fact that she keeps worrying about him when he's gone...
Meaning that Gael was very very close to her, maybe he was the nice old guy who kept paying her a visit, sharing some snack or telling her a story, while she was locked up in that basement.
Another very important detail is that even when he's gone mad, he still remembers his original goal about the painting and returning to her.

Okay, we got their relationship out of the way.
Second, why does Gael recruit you in the cleansing chapel in the cathedral of the deep?
Gael was muttering about how a second ash would be the key to burning the painting and freeing it from rot.
But is that all the reason he wanted so desperately to find you?
No, that's also because he wanted you to help him with this, he needed your help.
Since you're an Ashen one, that was ressurected just to link the eternal fire, Gael thought that you would be more easily to convince about this new world, where rot nor ash exist.

And Gael knew that you would trust him, because when you enter ariandel, Gael is already long gone in his journey to the ringed city.
When you arrive to the dreg heap, at the end of the world, you see that Gael left messages for you guiding you on where to go. Noticed how he uses his cap as some sort of marker for you
Cont 1/2,

Yes.

That's actually great, it isn't on sale and according to SteamDB it usually goes down 50% so I might buy it full price anyway. Thanks lads

Cont 2/2

Lots of people don't know about this, but Gael also guides you in the ringed city, you can spot a bit of his cave in the shared grave, guiding you to the right path in the labyrinth.
That means that Gael has been in the ringed city for a long time now. When you experienced the flash forward to the dreg heap (and also in the ringed city later on) Gael never experienced that time skip, he was for an extremely long time searching for the city where the pygmies live.

This is also why that old lady near the start of the heap doesn't know about Gael, that's because he was long gone when she came there.

Now about the bossfight....

In the introduction we see that Gael has gone absolutely insane, but yet he STILL remember us and the painting girl!
This will of him is so strong, that not even the dark soul can make him forget about it. He is actually surprised that you survived all these years.
But since he went insane and was completely overtake by his thirst for blood, he sadly just saw you as more blood for the new painted world.

At the 2nd phase cutscene, something strange happens that is VERY IMPORTANT.
Gael saw his own blood pooring down from him, and realizes that he had completed his goal, and turns hollow.

Turns hollow you say?

This is a fact, the hollowslayer greatswords and the Artorias Greatswords both will deal much more dmg agaisnt him in his second phase. And since both of those weapons deals bonus dmg to hollows....

We can also read from his soul that Gael WANTED you to kill him, since he knew that he was just a simple undead, and the dark soul would destroy him and he would be incapable of leaving the city.

That's such a fantastic yet tragic plan, all that leads to the fact that Gael had always had faith in the painted world, and he kept his faith until the very moment he died (turned hollow)

he was searching for new paint for her to paint with, I think if you kill Gael and return to her she’ll comment something regarding that like “Uncle Gael hasn’t returned with my new paint yet”

ng+ with bell demon and without kuro's charm

Absolutely based, this guy.

>The painted world will be everlasting according to 2 things:
The winter worlds are also deemed to relive similar circles like the normal world, the painted worlds fill with rot, and must be brauend when this is the case, that was literally the whole plot of the first DLC
