>that many turrets that clustered on the same level
aaaaaa i like the general design but thats bothering the shit out of me. spread them out and elevate the rear ones. has to get old having to constantly nose down.
Cool. Now tell us what it is
Avorion
I'm seeing this game get shilled over and over again the past few weeks.
Is it actually good or is this just a sad attempt by the developer?
also op if thats your ship, consider plating more with armor. fuckers start getting these purple bullets that ignore shields and they will rip your shit apart if you arent armored at least a little. that front in particular would get chewed right off.
im liking it, but its a big time investment game. its a SLOW start and stays slow for a long time. being able to build custom ships, turrets, fighters, etc is very fun tho.
If you enjoy a sandbox space game where you can built your ship exactly like you want it, sure.
And what do you do while in game? Do you have a sector with factions like in Starsector?
you start off in a tiny drone ship, mine some shit, build a ship with it and set off to snowball the fuck out of your power and grow a empire on the side if you want. you can trade, pirate, mine, scout, slavage, whatever.
That sounds cool
Will look into it
sounds like space engineers
>slavage
Finally, a space game for me!
did they make lasers viable yet?
Nah, SE is different except for the “build block spaceships” there’s not really a game in space engineers outside of mp. This actually has shit you can do, fleet controls, empire building and stuff. SE is more of a builder game where you can mine if you want, this is closer to a space game where you can build if you want. You don’t even have to ever make a ship
I'd call it more like Eve Offline.
Why does this thread looks like bots talking
No?
I think its because a literally Who game is getting a lot of replies in a timely manner. I didn't even think anyone on Yas Forums had this game on their radar at all. Also because one user is really fuckin excited to tell people about the game.
I can’t help it I’m sorry. I’m just having a good time and wanted to talk about it today to people who might also enjoy it.
I'm currently put off of the game really, I looked up everything I needed to do to get through the barrier and It burnt me out. I wish you only needed like 4 of the artifacts. Maybe i'll start again with that in mind and acquire them when i'm supposed to whenever i feel like playing again.
I'll give it a shot. I just want you to know that if I'm found dead of starvation, it's your fault.
Look up the barrier thing and work on getting the artifacts while you progress or you'll have to do a whole lot of nonsense that will feel like a grind if done all at once.
Yikes. I only just got to the barrier so that’s not a good thing to hear. It can’t be that bad when you have a big jump drive tho right?
I actually liked it alot thanks user
>I didn't even think anyone on Yas Forums had this game on their radar at all
I played the shit out of it like two years ago. I might be arsed to reinstall.
If you have the patience for it you could grind it out in 3~ hours maybe. artifact requires you to obtain some random trade goods that might slow you down if you don't immediately know where some factories for it are.
Almost like you're on a board to talk about video games.
one artifact*
Alright well that should be doable tho. Unless there’s RNG fuckery. Are they cargo based or is it like equipment? Wondering if I should send some busy work guys around or just use my main guy.
>Almost like you're on a board to talk about video games.
You'd think that, and yet it's uncanny when it does happen.
avorion.gamepedia.com
This should give you all you need to know
Is making a ship like in your pic rel viable? Obviously not saying 1:1 scale, but at least something very large looking and feeling?
>one user is really fuckin excited to tell people about the game
aka a shill
Ah shit that’s going to be a uphill battle. Lots of random jumps and fucking mobile merchants? Aaaaaa.
Shilling or not, this does look like a great game.
Just read the steam page, actually sounds really neat. However it’s almost harvesting season, so I might just wait for it to go on sale.
Yeah, the bigger it gets the more guns/shield/armor you can shove on that fucker. You can also add hangars and make a fleet carrier with NPCs in Fighters going into combat for you.
I assume you can save designs right? Like I can design a destroyer, a frigate, etc, and populate my fleet with multiple copies?
Yeah. And you can take saved ship designs and make fighters that look like them too.
What’s the hard limit on scale? Can I make a mile-long fuck-off battleship?
Because you drank too much Yas Forums kool-aid
Blocks go from .5x.5x.5 to 1000x1000x1000 I’m not sure if you can then use the “scale entire ship” slider to make it bigger.
i don't do early access, call me when it's finished
But it isn't early access.
it was released a week ago as 1.0 which im guessing is the reason its being shilled on v now
Can you walk around your ships?
No.
You can leave your ships but into a drone. There are no characters.
How toaster-friendly is this?
why do these look better than
anti aliasing plus better ship design?
also scale. larger designs let you make nicer looking ships. hard to be anything but a blocky mess smaller than a cruiser simply because your using fewer, smaller blocks.
been playing this game 3 days straight. Thank god for coronavirus quarantine.
Can you make a giant cannon ship?
a ship that shoots big cannons? sure. a ship that IS a cannon? i dont think so. far as ive seen while you can make a custom LOOK for your turrets, i dont think you can just make a giant flying gun and have it do anything but look neat.
Isn't Avorion just a poor man's Space Engineers with some enemies thrown in?
Shill here, I think this game is really great and everyone on Yas Forums should buy it!
Other way around.
Avorion has an actual active giant galaxy with trading and diplomacy and factions with different characteristics and wars.
Great insight, i love that game.
What i like the most about it is "[throw exception at /App/Controller/ResponseController line 510 return getReponse() no argument provided]"
Help an idiot out. Just started the game. Flew around a bit, made a blocky mess of a ship, mined some things. Ran out of money somehow. How does a beginner with nothing but a scrap heap make money in this? I'm seeing some missions posted on stations but they require collateral.
dig some rocks, sell the iron. use the drone if you have to. when you exit into the second faction area you get a free second ship if you wanted something possibly slightly better or a free captian to set up to automine.
