Well for me, since I already played through the OG game, I'll do as much as I can before VII Remake comes out. Then completely zone into VII:R until I finish that and go back to Royal. Not a big deal.

The dungeons are some of the worst, most dragged out, long winded, boring wastes of time, with barely anything going for them bar one gimmick that is played out to absolute death for each dungeon. Don't even mention the shitshow that is momentos
The social links for all the female characters play out the exact same, with the exact same goddamn template of events. Meet girl who is seemingly in control of her life, turns out she has an external issue from somebody else being an asshole, brain wash the dude with your magic powers that never get morally called out, oh thank you phantom thief-kun I figured you out from the start tee hee.

Dungeons got some side areas for the most part for stuff like new items or shadow fights and the cancer that was ship and space port got toned down.
But not massively.
Boss fights for palaces had changes yes, gimmicks got changed or a new phase was added.
People wouldn’t have complained if there was a downloadable upgrade or price reduction if you had P5 already.
Not to mention how it’s on the same console but you only really get a mediocre save bonus for playing the original and having a save
