Sub or dub for Nip games?

Sub or dub for Nip games?

Dub because I'm not a pathetic faggot
I'm fluent in both English and Spanish
Doesn't mean I would willingly listen to something in Spanish
English 100% of the time, puto

If it's dubbed, I'll play it with the dub. If it's especially awful, I'll swap it to JP.
Most games aren't especially awful enough to warrant the switch

Oh, forgot to mention notable exception for games with a JP setting like Sekiro.

I'm not a native English speaker so I have no attachment to English dubs and anime games are rarely dubbed in my language, I go with subs as a result.

If it makes sense in the context of the story for the characters to be speaking Japanese, sub. Otherwise, dub.

English on a first run.
Japanese on a second run

good call, agreed.

sub since I'm an ESL and have to read subs anyway
I can understand english pretty well without subtitles but it's easy to miss some words if you're playing

Always subbed, why even bother

The dub of Persona 5 is absolutely atrocious and they proved that with Joker's Smash trailer. It's overly hammy and unprofessional like all dub actors. Persona 5 is a garbage game regardless of language but at least the chink VA's know what they're doing.

>japanese ham good
>english ham bad
lmao

like youd know retard. its exactly as hammy in japanese but youre too much of an ignorant weeb to acknowledge it.

Sub whenever possible. Especially if it is set in Japan and has Jap cast.

The Xenoblade 2's localization is a warning example of what might happen, while shit like P5's Eng dub is just cringy.

>like youd know retard. its exactly as hammy in japanese but youre too much of an ignorant weeb to acknowledge it.
It's only hammy in exaggerated humorous situations. You people know nothing about voice over. I bet you faggots watch old Godzilla movies dubbed as well.

Why do so many dub va threads on Yas Forums start with Erica specifically?

Atlus dubs are cheap, poorly casted and lack any direction. Especially when they contain honorifics and Japanese names.
suckmytoe

agreed on those two, also I have no idea how anyone could stomach Danganronpa 2 in english.

>Sub with Char fucking Aznable
>Dub with shitty dub

Not a hard choice

>Char fucking Aznable
Who the fuck is that
>googles his VA actor
.Worked on Galaxy Express 999
>original Gundam (Gundam was never great but has history I guess)
>Saint Saiya
>Bubblegum Crisis
>Venus Wars
>fucking City Hunter
>Rurouni Kenshin
>Detective Conan
>Monster
>Legend of the Galactic Heroes
>and a bunch of gabrage
I guess he is a legend. Granted he mostly played secondary characters in all these classics but still. I guess I'll take the sub over the dub if a talent like this is in it.

Persona's cast is excellent

I think both of those VAs are really hot

>Aoi Yuuki
You can get your sweet ass sub.

Dub for voice
Sub for fugg

original sound for everything, not a native English speaker so listening to English voices in non-English media makes zero sense for me.

who gives a fuck what a va looks like unless the character is mocapped to the va?

>japanese ham good
>english ham bad
Hai.

Sub or dom for Nip girls?

Most of these actors have appeared in garbage modern anime. It's hardly impressive seeing these people play teen slice of life characters and popular shounen shit.

>nooo I can't listen to this voice actress's voice because she's UGLY
Who the fuck

Attached: 1582632866882.jpg (1280x1080, 370.03K)

depends on the game. if ive never played it ill usually go subbed for the most accurate dialogue but if its something like kakarot where i know the story 20 times over i go dubbed for the hilarious voice-mouth desync

Sub for anything that isn't Chinese.

Neither.
Learn Japanese and play the uncut version.

Most games that offer dual audio in the first place still aren't actually fully subtitled (and furthermore 99% of the time the subtitles are just a transcription of the dub script anyway), so I'm inclined to just stick with the dub, as long as it's tolerable.

Basically this.

This. "Sub" is short for for subhumans.

>it's another based subbies blowing out the tin-eared dubgamms thread

Attached: 2cwl4du.png (300x300, 13.45K)

imagine even knowing an actor/ress's name
some normalfag celebrity worship shit

Subbed for nip games if they're complete weebshit or set in Japan, dubbed for games set outside Japan or in fantasy that is more foreign influenced. I played Xenoblade 2 in Japanese because it's weeb as fuck, I played Dragon Quest XI in English because English suited the setting better.

If you aren't looking at this with some nuance you're an idiot. I also prefer to play other foreign games in the appropriate language. Metro should only be played in Russian.

I don't care about the voice-acting, but the dialogue itself is just really cringey to hear spoken in English.

POST >HER CHIN

This too. I expect the Japanese to be fucking embarrassing. It's like seeing a dog eat shit, it just happens sometimes, if you see it you might cringe a little, but you deal with it. Meanwhile, English dubbing is like watching a PERSON eating shit, and it's far more horrifying.

Especially when the translators thought they were fucking comedians, so the shit has been vomited on and now someone is eating it.

Sub only if all the dialogue is skipable once you read the lines. Like in VNs or VNesque dialogue, you read the whole text box and they're still speaking the second word, while nothing interesting is going on screen, might as well use the original voices that I can't entirely understand for those couple of spoken words.

If the dialogue is dynamically spoken while in gameplay or in cutscenes you can't skip individual pieces of text, dub so I can catch the dialogue whitout having to distract myself from the visuals.

If was fluent on Nip, I'd play with nip voices everytime, but I can't be bothered to learn it.

this is the only correct choice

>doesn't know Char
Oh no. OH NO

DIOS MIO.............

What do you reckon she smells of?

Attached: 1583023074307m.jpg (819x1024, 166.65K)

Sub for her
Others, depends

Attached: wedding.jpg (2905x616, 566.55K)

Depending on the setting
>Japan, anime or ninja stuff/japanese related stuff
SUB
>Western stuff, middle age things and not asian looking characters
DUB

I wouldnt listen to Latin Spanish too
>t.Spaniard

>I played Dragon Quest XI in English because it wasn't voiced in Japanese
Fixed.

Yes it was. Next you'll tell me I couldn't marry Jade.

Hey baby, wanna get coffee with me?

Japanese games shouldn't have English dubs, only subtitles. The same goes for western games.
Fuck globalization!

Imagine not wanting to breed this and create a football team’s worth of strong jawed sons.

I want to cum inside Aoi Yuuki's voice

you anime only fags keep forgetting Fukuyuma's best performance

Attached: Maou.jpg (1440x1080, 122.86K)

Japanese voice & text of course

it's forgetting a bunch of roles.

the ones I am triggered by are:
>no Joseph Joestar for Sugita
>mentions Symphogear for Aoi and Nana but not for Sugita or Hoshi

Who the fuck cares

>i choose based on the setting, also rurouni kenshin is my favorite dub
Yas Forums and Yas Forums have the same type of retards i see

>wanting your kids to be jawlets

This but unironically
Black Lagoon has the best dub and it makes sense since the characters canonically speak english

The only dub I consider just as good as sub is Death Note, but it helps that it’s in a very grounded setting and most of the dialogue is inner monologuing anyway.

Original version. Only non-humans play lolcalizations.

This basically. Though I feel like my standards are a bit higher than this user; English is usually my first choice in games since videogame english dubs aren't really that bad most of the time but I switch to jp dub when I can tell the script is suffering like in games like Drakengard 3, Nier:Automata, Devil Survivor, Sekiro, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
I always go for japanese dubs when I watch anime though, I don't understand why the disparity in dub quality between the two mediaforms is so striking.
