DS3 triple stage boss fights were much worse

Sounds good to me, nigger

The only triple stage bosses I remember are friede and Gael. Am I forgetting any?

>Hard=bad
Why are souldrones like this?

>More=hard
>Annoying=hard

That's the only one in the entire serious including Demons' and Bloodborne I believe.

does Demon Prince counts?

>optional boss after PvP area is meant for groups
GEE.

Yeah this totally isn't easier version of maneaters from DeS.

?
Gargoyles were hard? I had harder time fighting Pursuer

Not it wasn't they actually had mechanics

Main game bosses are easy. Hell, memegolyes aren't even hard... Well, compared to Smelter Demon.

... But Smelter Blue and Alonne are a fucking nightmare, especially if you are mage. Not to mention you have horde of enemies before Alonne. I barely defeated him today with SL179 sorcerer and 2 phantoms.

can we discuss how fucking awful the souls wikis are, especially fextralife?

Still my favorite DS2 boss fight. Fond memories of using a barely upgraded Longsword's running attacks and crushing life gems. Also trains you to fight with no lock on

that boss is optional you faggot

Gargoyles are only hard if you fight them early.

Is it worth giving DS2 another chance? I played most of it years ago before SoTFS and I remember it not being completely shit, so I'm thinking of playing it again.

Ds2 only has 9 good bosses out of 41

Beat them first try, you should get gud

>Ruin Sentinel
What where they thinking?

Attached: SotFS_Sentinel.jpg (1355x821, 677.97K)

Ruin Sentinels are good.

this boss was actually fun

If only half the hitboxes weren't fucked

just quickstab with the rapier and back off

Isn't the most deadly boss (Fume Knight) in DS2 a purely solo encounter?

Weird way to spell gangrape havel squad

ds2 was a gud game

some of the worst. monster hunter world uses fextralife as well. it's absolutely fucking atrocious

I've never experienced bad hitboxes with Ruin Sentinels.
You either have low ADP or you're mistaking their large sweeps that reach behind them and catch your roll as a bad hitbox.

The attacks were mostly fine, it was the shield that was completely fucked

Fume Knight is easy though.
Darklurker is probably the hardest.

I like the wikidot ones. Good, clean design.

Gascoigne, Bloodstarved beast, Shadows of Yharnam, Maria

These guys were assholes. I was also like level 40 with a handaxe when I fought them

>get surprised and roll off the right
>get finished by the two below

Darklurker, Sir Alonne and to some extent King's Pet Aava was harder than him at least for me

At least few years ago Fume Knight was the most difficult boss in the series by far if you measure the how many people who enter the boss fog actually beat him.

Name 'em, my dude.

i like when the monks turn into giant monsters and rape u!!!!

But the other two only enter the fight when the first one is dead?

Not even the hardest boss in the Iron King DLC.

He's the most fun boss to fight although it took more than 30 tries killing the guy

Persuer
Ruin Sentinels
Executioner Chariot
Smelter Demon
Darklurker
Elana
Fume Knight
Sir Allonne
Aava

I measure bosses by how easy I find them.

Elana was garbage a

You can add
Sinh the Slumbering Dragon
Ivory King
Mirror Knight
Lost Sinner
Velstadt

Dark Souls II good

Then Darklurker is way easier than Fume Knight and 2Cat is the worst.

any update on this?

I agree with that last, my dude. I'd probably add a few more, mostly from the DLC. Some of the boss fights in this game are piss easy and are a bit of a slog to go through, but the design of the boss or arena usually makes up for it. To me, at least. Demon of Song was a particularly useless boss, but enjoyed his look and his actions.

That shield attack was indeed retarded, I wonder if they fixed that

Dark Souls 2 or: How I Learned to Stop Jobbing and Love the Club

We can at least agree that Demon of Song was the Pinwheel of DS2

Can we agree that needing to play on half-life because you died a couple of times is stupid

Elana is great.
Sinh sucks. Hes a jobber on land and is easy to dodge in the air. He has no depth because any poison, weapon degradation that would happen is easily dealt with because he has the highest healing windows in the game right next to covetous demon and the rotten.
Not to mention the fight becomes a slog because of how much time he actually spends in the air.
Ivory king sucks. The boss itself is fine but the set piece beforehand is unnecessary and adds too many unreliable variables to the fight. For example once while fighting him, one of the white knights stayed behind, letting me split the bosses A.I. Another time they didnt close all of the portal but still died so I had to fight the boss AND an add.
Getting ganked by 4 infinite stamina poisebeast knights while my bros gank one single knight across the map is trash.
Mirror Knight is just another Pursuer reskin. Subject to some peculiar lingering hitboxes and has a long ton charge spell that he cant track with. Pretty forgettable unless you're easily impressed by the setting. I imagine this was cooler when Ds2 was active. As it stands, it's not.
Sinner is Sir Allonne but less of everything. Less moves, less speed, less depth. Forgettable trash.
Velstadt is the jobber of all jobbers. He has like 4 moves including a spell that takes forever to charge up and cant track. Hes slow as shit and easier to dodge than Vendrick, yet his buff does nothing to alleviate this crippling weakness. Worse yet is that he's another Pursuer reskin. Yet where Mirror Knight tried with the player summon mechanic, Velstadt is content being a jobber footnote. Absolute garbage.

2 phases

But Fume Knight is easy.
You misunderstand. I'm not judging based on how difficult (You) find them.

Na, that shit was good. Demon's Souls did the same, but if you died, you lost half immediately. Had to use the cling ring to get back a quarter of health.

Demon of Song is probably the most frightening thing in the entire series.

Nah, for one it's on a timer. But if you roll off you're getting the whole rape squad.

dont die casual

IMO the design of some of these bosses makes it even more insulting when they turn out to be 3 attacks snoozefests.
Demon of Song has good potential based on his design but they just made him another pebble to step on. Such a shame.

>you died because you are bad
>we are gonna make your life even harder because you are bad

I love the Souls games but I never finished DS2 because of this, the ember system of DS3 is way more fair

>Hard=Bad
Why are souldrones like this?

Maria has actually three. Normal, blood, fire.

Next time on Yas Forums.
>Hard=Good
Why as Fromdrones like this?

LATER THAT DAY
>Hard=Muh Peenee

I don't mind hard stuff, what I mind is getting punished for being bad in a way that makes my life even harder

It's one of the most batshit design decisions in the souls series, but it also has soul.

It has some of the best moments in the entire series so yeah.

Ds2 does it well I think.
For one, theres a ring which reduces the health loss to 3/4.
Souls are abundant enough that you can get a high enough HP stat that even 3/4 feels comfortable.
What's really great about it though is the effigies. Adds on the risk vs reward gameplay themes in dark souls.
Should I use an effigy now and return back to full? Or save them and carry on with limited health?
Adds a nice layer of depth to resource management. Only thing I dont likenis how it effects invasions. They should still only be a threat when human.
Overall a sloppy idea that could've been great but unfortunately the dev cycle for Ds2 was trash so everything is half assed and broken.

Why should you get rewarded for brainlessly spamming rolling either?
