Sexbox controller

Let's have a thread about the controller. No, not the console, just the controller itself.
>new D-pad
>cross-compatibility across a bunch of devices
>Bluetooth Low Energy (BTLE) for easier pairing
>Dynamic Latency Input (DLI) to improve input latency
>share button
>improved textures and finishes

What do you think? My main hopes are for the D-pad to be good, Xbone's wasn't as abysmal as the 360 pad was but it still has room for improvement. Overall doesn't seem to be too gimmicky, more of a vanilla controller.
I'm pretty curious about DS5's adaptive triggers though, hopefully we get more news on that soon.

Apparently the bumpers are not that great.

>share button
But why

As a shortcut I guess but it has no meaning if you use the controller on PC.

As long as my old controllers work, I've got no gripes with anything new coming. God speed Microsoft.

new xbox is gonna have the wiiu problem where people aren't even aware it's a new console
>xbox series x
sounds like another xbox one console form factor like slim or elite
>controller is identical
doesn't help

>incoming shadowplay support
>incoming gamebar support
not like it'll be difficult once these things are released

>That Dpad

Did they fix the absolute travesty known as the xbone bumbers and shoulder buttons?

>no bumpers

LEFT TO ROT AHAHAHAHAHA

Attached: ds4ca.jpg (474x266, 12.38K)

dpad looks niggerlicous

Dpad looks similar to the xbox elite dpad which is pretty alright

That d-pad looks pretty great for rocking. The one complaint I have about the ds4 is the hole in the middle of the dpad makes it harder to rock for no good reason. If sony can put out another dpad like the vita I'm sold, but this one here already shows promise.

I do hope we get an affordable option for something like this. It was a really innovative thing for Sony to do.

I'm excited. My main concern is the D-Pad but the X1 controller is easily the most comfy I've ever used outside of 2D games.

Source? I like the texture they added on them. It looks like they're designed to be rolled into/held with one finger; the texturing is on the back of the bumper and the space between the bumper and trigger is much tighter. I wonder if people who say it's no good aren't using it in the way it was intended.

This is what I'm talking about. It looks like it's designed to be used in tandem with the trigger by just rolling your index.

I feel this controller gets progressively worse since the x360. Look at that d-pad, what the hell. And share button? A bad idea from the competition.

Someone should be fired over this.

It looks like an Amazon knockoff of the original Xbone design

>Ctrl f gyro
>0 results
>Ctrl f motion
>0 results
Already outdated.

I can't think of a situation that I'd want gyro controls.

Nice

>hes never had gyro
Sucks to be you.

People who have used it do.

>no paddles
So just like gyro, even if DS5 has paddles they cannot be used as new buttons for multiplatform games because microsoft is stuck in 2001. And retards will still defend it.

What paddles? the addon thingy on the back?

That's for ps4, DS5 will feature built-in paddles.

Rear paddles or no rear paddles? D-pad looks bad.

if the bumpers are more easily accessible, that's good. if the face buttons are flatter and a little less clicky, that's great. if the d-pad is slightly less clicky and easier to roll, that's excellent. if the front LED has adjustable brightness, that's a GOAT controller.

Want paddles? Get an Elite.

>DS5 will feature built-in paddles.

I was kind of hoping for paddles. I also liked the little top divot on the face of it, it looks a little cheap when it's flat like that.

Will SeX have Bluetooth so I can connect my BT headset to it?

>AA Battery
It's doa

>No paddles
>No Gyro

PS5 is coming out with an elite style controller as standard and these dudes haven't changed shit since the 360.

What was MS thinking? Why do they hate lithium?

cope

They are retarded. That's where the few differences between consoles are. I know a lot of people who were pissed by that.
When the ps5 will come out they will market the fuck out of their new constroller just like the switch did.

these controllers last. i have dead PS3 controllers laying everywhere because of that lithium ion battery getting worn out but my 360 and bone are still good to go.

>I have never heard of rechargeable batteries and would rather be chained down by proprietary accumulators
Seriously?

So I was just thinking of buying an xbox controller for my pc, will anyone do or should I look for anything special.

Changing out the batteries in dualshock controllers is piss easy and they're easy to find because they use a standardized battery.

yes i have. but they are shit as well and it's not the 90's anymore dumbass.

Really wish they'd stop with the dpad disc. The Xbox 360 dpad was a disc and it was objectively garbage.

Bring back the black and white buttons. Six face buttons on top of the rest would reduce the need for context sensitive controls in games. Way more useful than a "share button"

Attached: 1405301075090.jpg (612x612, 71.79K)

How would you place the other two buttons without messing with the brains of players?

MS cheap out on the paddles so you can buy a expensive new elite controller.

I think this was pretty decent, but the buttons can also be situated like the old 6 button Genesis controller, but with the final two buttons being more subdued like on the Xbox S.

An example of the usefulness depends on the game, but imagine Resident Evil 5. I had issues with the button changing function when trying to grab loot near a door, and moving me to another area with no backtracking. An extra button just to open doors or to grab loot would alleviate this shortcoming in games.

This would also help with having to use R3 or L3 for major moves like jumping in Dark Souls (which was asinine), or other major game actions.

Best part is that it still has removable batteries. Fuck that built in 4 hour charge bullshit that slowly dies.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA

You can just bind it to save a replay

not this retarded shit again

How you holding up, oh you had stop and charge? Got your tools ready for another battery change?

Attached: chad master race.jpg (1080x894, 278.49K)

I've never used a d-pad like that but I'm not sure its gonna me better, overall the xbone controller is a huge improvement over the 360 controller so I hope they just improve the feel of it a bit since its very close to perfect, share button might be nice if I can remap it to be a turbo button on PC.

I played botw on WiiU and having gyro to make small adjustment to my aim was very nice.

I hope it works with the XBONE W10 dongle so I don't have to buy another one of those again

Bluetooth sucks

>Sexbox
Oh god people are actually calling it exactly what the the marketing team wanted with their retarded and convoluted "Xbox Series X" name. I really really hope they change the name.

>not using based corded controllers.

never had to change my ps3 controller
>Got your tools ready
Ok brainlet

I got a 12 foot usb cable at the dollar store and 10 minutes of charging gets me hours of play, or I just swap pads because who has only one lol no factor.

This was always just a corporate cope. Wii U failed because it was shit, same as the new Xbox will.

>asymmetrical sticks and shit dpad still
Hard pass, sorry billyboy.

COPE
>I had to waddle and stand by the usb port while I c-charge haha I get hours (6) of p-play h-haha..
COPE

the only one coping is you. Imagine having to buy AA battery every week to play video games in 2020

>playing for more then 6 hours straight
seek sunlight
