Trials of mana

New trailer
youtu.be/_sQhI6W1Vpo

You can see some of the elemental stone bosses in it, even the shadow one. And what seems to be a teaser at the end for something new.

Also, they are making a brand new post game episode, that adds a 4th tier class for light and dark paths. They are only showing one in pic related however.

There's a demo out in a couple days too.

Fucking incredible. I can't wait.

>Post game content
>Even lewder outfits for Angela and Riesz
>Soul kept intact.
Yeah, i'm thinking GOTY

Please go away.

Must have been something else then.

It keeps looking better and better. It's going to be a shame that the better remade game will get lost in the bullshit that is Final Fantasy 7.

Seiken Denetsu 3 music is amazing.

I miss Legend of Mana.

This game has realtime combat and always did on the SNES. The most special thing about this game is that you only choose 3 of the main characters to play through the game with, and based on who you chose, you have an entirely different story from another playthrough. There are 3 different main antagonists that could take place that your first character chosen decides. It also has a branching character growth system and fairly player-controlled systems for improving your character.

I love Riesz so much, I'm definitely pickig this up later this year

I just realized this is a $50 title, that's pretty neat. Hopefully the Switch version isn't too gimped but I guess I'll find out from the demo.

I'll be using Charlotte as my main character with the English dub.

Why are the girls dressed like whores?

They look like they are going for a prostitution rather than a battlefield

The girls look hot, grug like

Wait, a fourth tier of classes?

Fucking NICE. I loved the class system in original.

He's in.

So can you assume direct control of the other members in your party in this? Because if not I'll have to do Kevin's story first because I want to play as him the most.

I'm liking the sudden resurgence of demos. Perhaps it's a tactic to differentiate from all the other games coming out this and next month.

Oh nice, this kind of game is a bit hit or miss for me so a demo is helpful.

Looking forward to this way more than the FF7 Remake (I'll get that when it's actually done).

I'm thinking of going Kevin, Spear Lady, and Cunny. All Light classes.

Hopefully the demo scenario is set somewhat later into the game with abilities and stuff unlocked to give you a taste of the full experience. Demos that only give you the very beginning of the game with no abilities unlocked often give a poor impression.

Coomer here, is the armor guy and two babes a viable party?

fags wont main duran, charlotte and cunny. the cannon crew.

yes very

based

Don't know if things will be balanced differently in the remakes, but in the original you could beat the game with any party combination without too much trouble. It wasn't a particularly difficult game.

It's actually a very good party

what makes that combo cannon?

Duran, Angela and Riesz were a very powerful team in the original (and Duran + Angela are canon teammates since they share the same final boss), even with the several system errors that made several of their particular abilities useless.

Just last year did a Nightblade, Star Lancer, Necromancer run, so maybe I should do something with Duran and Angela this time. Charlotte is always super useful, so probably pick her too. Kinda curious to see if her debuffs are still the shit.

Every party is viable.

That's a great setup.
>Duran can be the healer
>get to see all of Duran and Angela's story
>get access to the secret boss
And some extra dialogue at a few parts.
>first time coming back to Duran's town
>Duran doesn't want to let the party in his house
>Angela says he must be hiding his porn mags

Yes. Duran hits hard and tanks, can also heal. Angela nukes even harder, but is squishy. Riesz can buff or debuff, while being relatively strong and tanky.

Kevin/Hawkeye/Riesz was my favorite party in the original game.
>everyone attacks
>Kevin heals
>Riesz buffs
>Hawkeye debuffs
Curious if the team will work the same way in the remake.

have they shown Kevin's night form yet in the trailers?

Yeah, the gameplay trailer that came out like a week or so ago showed off the Day/Night cycle and used Kevin's transformation as the main example.

There's a shot of it in the Kevin/Charlotte trailer iirc.

yeah youtu.be/8HpBMhNUJnA?t=182

I will now buy your game.

your trying to fit in too hard user, turn it down a little bit

>Kevin, Charlotte, Angela
>want to make Charlotte protag because I've never used her before
>want to make Kevin protag because I love his story arc

Attached: shoebill confused.jpg (480x360, 36.79K)

keep in mind if you make charlotte the main character, you'll have to deal with her annoying baby talk bullshit more than you would if you started with kevin

Ever notice how most of these games from Japan focus also little on the environment? The characters look good (like Nier), but the environments look low res and bland. Only one that I can think of that bucks this trend is Yakuza.

is the combat not action based? it looks turn based

It's a medium to low budget title so effort is put onto the characters to make a stronger impression on the audience. Which works. Also you're going to be staring at these characters for the entire game so you may as well put the most effort into them instead of skimping on them.

>immediately feel the need to contradict your point
>can't

I guess Souls games? but they're basically western in design philosophy heh

It's action. In fact it has more mechanics than the SNES game did, since there seem to some rising/jumping/midair attacks on occasion.

>that guy who keeps trying to insist that they're censoring the game
>both of the new costumes are way skimpier than the ones from the original game
But that twitter thread I read told me that SE was ruining gaming! This doesn't fit my agenda!

Amazing. What are the chances they'll add new characters?

>What are the chances they'll add new characters?
Zero since you'd have to design new campaigns and it'd feel really awkward. Plus less development time put towards existing characters. I'm shocked they're adding content, honestly.

Fighting games and adventure games, sure, I think Bayonetta looked great, but more open world games seems to just keep it basic. Dead Or Alive is another good example (not an open world though); great character models and a lot of effort in costumes, but the beach looks really basic.

>action combat
>cutscene attacks

Attached: 130221984383[1].jpg (600x578, 49.29K)

>Dead Or Alive is another good example
Dead or Alive knows what you're here for. Time spent modelling environments is time not spent modeling DLC costumes.

the dead or alive character models are terrible actually. no progress in like 15 years of them making that game and they still don't understand how asses attach to the body.

bayonetta had very simple environments

a good example of detailed environmentswould be MGSV, but even that was made with lots of prefabs and props reused over and over

It's not super in-depth, but you definitely run up to enemies and press the attack button to attack. It's not turn based at all.

I love Hawkeye, some path of his will fit in every party.

Hawkeye + Duran + Riesz is my favorite party.
>Duran has a class that can mass-buff the party with elemental Sabers (which come with an extra +10% attack buff that overrides others, so use this first)
>Riesz has a class that can mass-buff the party with an attack increase
>Hawkeye has a class that can mass-debuff the enemy with a defense increase
One turn of setup to shred the enemy with regular attacks.

Just watch some gameplay bud.

>no multiplayer
>in a remake of a game where the main draw was the multiplayer
into the trash it goes.

Hype as fuck. Music gave me chills, I'm legit nostalgiafagging. This and Alundra were childhood defining for me. I want a remake of that next.

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 170.32K)

SNES original had those, too, and it's generally considered an action game.

Oh god here we go

Attached: 1503433245596.jpg (215x228, 8.02K)

man this looks so incredibly not hype

>I want a remake of that next.
I get the feeling that wouldn't be received well. The game is platforming heavy so you can't really shift the perspective and the game's art style outside of the character designs is extremely brown and drab.
