420p 69hz

A lower fps doesn't make your screen blurry.
That's not how it fucking works.

prove it

People who care about frame rate and resolution aren’t really gamers. They just hide behind the bells and whistles of their 4000 dollar PCs to feel elite when really they couldn’t beat Battletoads if their life depended on it

imagine wanting to be a gamer lol

It does if you have motion blur turned on

1080/144hz

240p 30 fps

why not 1440p?

based gamer dropping a truth bomb

meme resolution
same with 4k

Battletoads is easy though. It's also 60fps.

what makes a resolution a "meme"?

lack of money/job

1440p 144hz is the future.
Resolution will cease to be a thing to strive for in the next gen, which is why manufacturers suddenly jumped on the framerate wagon after decades of "cinematic" frames. 4K is a meme unless your monitor is more than 50 inches wide, and even 1440 is pushing it if your monitor is in the low 20s or smaller in size. Framerates will likely stay at 144hz for a long time once 1440/144 becomes a reachable standard (with 60hz as a fallback), eventually pushing to 250 and probably stop there.
For now, 1080p 60hz is still the baseline just because hitting the above isn't possible with current hardware for most of the shitty unoptimized crap games coming out.

That is exactly how it works. More time between frames means most distance traveled between frames, meaning more motion blur to compensate for that gap.

Preach!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dis nigga dropping them truth bombs bruh.

current hardware cant do 4k 144fps in most games, thus the resolution is a meme
same thing with 1440p but more games can do it

>a fucking image

60 fps should look smoother

1440p/144hz monitor with adaptive sync(G/Free-sync) tehnology this is sweet spot for gaming right now.

60fps is the new 30fps.
Seems like gamers still don't realize it isn't 2011 anymore.

If you aren't on at least 144+ consistently (at the very least on a 1080p display), you are behind the curve, friends.

What? That has nothing to do with framerates. That's an issue of interpolation.

4K is imperceptible unless those pixels are fucking huge.
Unlike the past fifteen or so years of the "human eye can only see X frames" meme, resolution is actually a thing that has already reached the point where not even eyesight better than 20/20 can tell the pixel difference between a 1440p and a 4K monitor from a recommended viewing distance unless the monitor is massive. Shit's just too small.

In addition, doubling the framerate is half as demanding compared to doubling the resolution.

>still limiting yourself to 60fps in 2020
lmao

Blue board bro

Framerates higher than 60 are a meme.

Bigger/more is better. Basically I'd recommend prioritizing as follows:

>Do you play games where split-second reaction times and twitch reflexes matter?
Prioritize 144fps. 1080p is fine, there are plenty of guys out there winning tournaments at 1080p you fucking pro gamer you. Upgrade to 1440p only if you can upgrade the computer along with it and keep your sick framerate. That's probably outside of the budget of most people. For 99% of shooter players 1080p/144hz is what they want.

>Do you play games where split-second reaction times don't matter?
If you're not out there playing competitive shooters all the time, you can afford to prioritize prettiness. A 1440p monitor is a hell of a lot nicer looking than a 1080p one, and building a machine that can run 1440p at 60fps is way cheaper than building one that can run that resolution at 100+fps.

If your life is a meme just spend $5k on a machine and another $1,200 on a monitor and play at 4k 144hz.

>image on the right is clearly better than the one the left

>48fps
good compromise between 30 and 60. Smooth responsive gameplay, while still allowing for good graphics, a.i., physics, scale,...etc. If you absolutely need 144fps in games like RDR2 you're just a try hard faggot.

Well you are correct, but.... Nah actually you're just correct

Can you please more effort into your bait? Thank you.

Dumbass

That looks beautiful

You're beautiful.

1080p 60fps. Higher resolutions is fine if you maintain it. Frame rate is far more important however. I can play a game at 480p perfectly fine, but the same cannot be said for

How is 1440p a meme when it's the most logical progression from 1080p, as oppose to the retarded jump towards 4K and the soon-to-be-shilled 8K?

Frames per second is the number of frames shown in a second in your monitor if you take a screenshot like the ones you show you would be looking at two still images that would look the same or almost the same, FPS have nothing to do with the graphic quality or the amount of motion blur. Thats not to say that FPS is not meaningful in media like games but your image its completely retarded there are plenty of webms that show the actual difference.

Thoughts ?

upgrade monitor

to what

honestly might wanna go for 32 GB of Ram with the next gen coming up

the exponential increase of ram usage this gen is absurd

I've beaten Battletoads multiple times without using warps or continues. Higher framerate is superior in every aspect.

/thread

1448p

1080p 240fps

That pc great, but the monitor needs a bump up to 1440p resolution.

1080p/144hz is fine for me. 1440 with those frames would be good but I'd have to keep upgrading the GPU
