I'd say theres still a chance, they originate in comics but are mostly known for their games. Plus, the criteria for being able to get in smash has never been set in stone.

You know, a mario and luigi rpg could work, maybe you could solve puzzles like normal and for battle, your main two methods of attack would be your guns and punches, the stuff from your inventory could also be used for special attacks somehow.
