You should watch the video. GX is the most consistent story (it's more consistent than DM, which fucking butchers the great manga it's based on) and it has a lot of great stuff in it, but it has several glaring flaws and he does a very good job pointing them out. It's not a video about how the series is shit, it's a video about how several bad choices kept a good show from being great.

It was just a meaningless plot device so that they could have the final boss show up when they wanted him to. In WRGP, they spend so much time fucking around with an extremely nebulous goal of "eventually we're gonna fight Yliaster" and then in like the last 10 episodes, they learn that this giant fucking satellite thing is gonna blow up the city. There's like no stakes for most of the plot and then all of a sudden it's "oh my god the city's gonna get blown up".

Dude, I watched it week-to-week in Japanese, I know what the Ark Cradle was. My point is the protagonists didn't know about the Tenors building the Circuit, don't know about the Ark Cradle and BARELY knew about Z-ONE until it all showed up. It led to a very meandering plot. There are other problems, like the Tenors themselves not being very compelling antagonists (Jose is cool, but has ONE duel), everybody besides Yusei, Jack and Crow having jack shit to do and some episodes that are just straight up abysmally written like the shit with Blackwing Dragon. There's the straight-up assassination it does to Aki - I get that they couldn't use the Aracdia Movement anymore because of the sex cult stuff, but her arc is "learns to riding duel, gets benched, loses her powers, then just gets them back at the end of the season."
It just wasn't a good season for a lot of reasons.

Idk mate, maybe I was just desensitized or maybe I was just more accepting of it due to the fact that it wasn't a tourney arc, but that honestly felt like pretty normal stuff for YGO and I didn't feel as though it was significantly worse than the dark signers arc, which also felt like normal YGO. Only thing I hated is Crow. Dickhead doesn't even have a good design. I dislike Aki getting sidelined so much but I was more just rooting for Yusei and her to fuck. Which they sadly didn't.

Arc-V had alternate universe versions of some GX, 5D's and ZEXAL characters in there. It started out as a very cool way to refresh some old beloved characters like Jack and ended up being an absolute trainwreck where the legacy characters took away screen and development time from the Arc-V characters or somehow managed to get jobbed out and embarrassed even harder than they did in their original series and if you asked me how you could job out Asuka worse than GX did, I'd have no idea but Arc-V somehow managed it.
