Who knows. Basara is way better. They do what musous don't and that makes it better. Just go balls to the walls with games like this. The only decent musous are the one piece ones, but I don't like the series enough anymore to give a shit.

SB3 came out back during Capcom's retarded expectations phase. They released it in the west as a $30 title with no advertising and dub-only and it sold 200k and they considered it a disappointment because it didn't sell the 2 million they wanted and wrote off the series in the west forever.

Fujoshi love the series, japanese women love gay fanfics about their historical figures, and even chinese ones, because records and tales show the men being so bound by brotherhoods. Sengoku Basara atracts them so much due how pretty the dudes are, and there aren't much female characters to balance that out, in comparison Dynasty Warriors has more female characters to pander towards men, and the male characters only started morphing into pretty boys after DW7 or so, before that the characters weren't very handsome so Sengoku Basara took a headstart on that.

Koei Tecmo is fine with selling modest numbers in the west, Capcom is a company used to their series selling the millions, Sengoku Basara will never attain those numbers so continuing to localize the series is seen as a waste.

Capcom always had retarded expections, they have always seen 200k sale figures as a disapointment, that's why the Mega Man series even died for a while 10 years ago, the NDS and PSP games were selling that amount. Capcom always thought Sengoku Basara wouldn't make a name in the west, that's why Devil Kings happened.

Capcom is not fine with anything that isn't a million seller, Koei Tecmo not so much, simple as that.

The real stupid move was to release 1 as Devil Kings and then release 3 as Basara. I loved Devil Kings and didn't know it was the same as Basara so I never even glanced at 3 until years later.

He chases you around the map when you fight Tokugawa, and the whole gimmick is you need to be progressing and unlocking doors and all that to run away. Muneshige does the same kind of thing when you fight the Zavi cultists.

It's great because once you're good enough you can just fight and defeat them directly. Very Lu Bu.
