>valuing journalist opinions

Thanks, I already cancelled my preorder

The dumb bitch's argument is that New Leaf is better because there's less stuff to do. Not even kidding.

Why the fuck would someone choose to play a 3ds game is beyond me

>a twitter screencap quoting an available review
Go shill your shit somewhere else.

what a tranny

Must be a time traveler.

>game with literally all the features of new leaf + qol improvements/missing features
>worse than new leaf
Game journos are so fucking retarded, good lord

sounds like the average contrarian on Yas Forums

Horizons is better just for the fact I can place furnishings outside.

>be game journalist
>hate the concept of responsibility
pure pottery

>New Leaf

SOUL

>New Horizons

SOULLESS

"her" argument is that it's "too much and overwhelming".

You know, a game that's supposed to last years has "too much content".

New Leaf was a good game, but shit was it lacking soul by AC standards

what's so good about new leaf.

>overwhelming

Fucking how? Its Animal Crossing, you don't have to do a damn thing and you don't get penalized for doing nothing.

>start as a villager
>become mayor
>become GOD
It's just a natural progression, whats this bitch's problem?

>and you don't get penalized for doing nothing.
You do in the sense of weeds taking up everything, your flowers all dying, and losing villagers you liked.

>OLD GOOD NEW BAD is okay when we do it

>nintendies SEETHING over reviews after constantly bringing up metacritic for botw
Lmao

The world would improve by a not insignificant amount if all journalists died, preferably in the most horrible ways possible.

Please define what "Soul" means

If this is the same bitch from the animal crossing Retronauts, she literally started with City Folk and hasnt even touched anything older

seriously this. fuck anything else it is now perfect

New Leaf wouldn't be trash if there wasn't so little daily activities to do, that you had to timetravel to do more for the day.

>Doctor Mask
ha ha. corona virus!!

Ive never played an animal crossing but am interested, should I start with this new one or try one of the old ones?

No reason not to start here, everyone will be playing so you’ll have a lot of opportunities to play with everyone in trades and stuff.

Makes sense. Thanks.

>3DS Fire Emblem better than Three Houses
>3DS Pokemon better than Sword/Shield
>3DS Kirby better than Star Allies
>3DS Animal Crossing better than New Horizons
I'm starting to notice a pattern here.

Too many commas desu

The new. Besides the gamecube version, it's just upgrades kinda like sports games

This. Only people like me, who started with the Gamecube game, should be allowed to voice our opinions on the new games.

I'm not being sarcastic.

If you've played one, you've played them all more or less. So your choice is

a) emulating the older ones for free, albeit without anyone to play with
b) buying New Horizons and having a community to play with

Most importantly, women fucking love Animal Crossing, so you have a higher chance of being able to connect with one if you play it, and for that, it's best to pick the newest one.

Decent dialogue for a start. Then a laundry list of about 40 other things

>"women"

There are less shops, special characters, and events than New Leaf. Instead, the focus is on Minecraft-like customization of your island. There's nothing we don't already know about this game.

IGN's review is hilarious. The review makes it sound like a 6/10 and then they slap a 9/10 at the end.

Likely done to avoid the wrath of angry Switch owners.

I got my one and only highschool girlfriend via Animal Crossing. She gave bad head, but she sucked my dick so I would give her her favorite animal - Bob.

IGN has notoriously bad opinions. They gave Pokemon ORAS a 7.8/10 for having too much water, when it deserved half that for a whole plethora of actual issues, like the Fairy type, megas, terrible balance, free legendary give aways, ruined world design, etc.

What a fucking idiot. NH is just NL with more content

Pokemon all over again

None of those are permanent or expensive to fix either.

more events will be added through updates, retard

They're not expensive but they are time consuming if you don't have a stockpile or someone else to give you hybrids/flowers in general. The villager issue is also something you could only rectify fairly recently with the Amiibo cards.

>slow start with next to no content for days
Of course, fucking retarded.

The lack of events is pretty moot, they’re adding them with updates and you’d only be able to get them legitimately through time travelling anyway. I agree with the lack of special characters and focus on crafting instead of life simulation being disappointing, though

>The review makes it sound like a 6/10 and then they slap a 9/10 at the end.
But the reviewer basically said he loved it and his only complaints were with a slow start, uninspired randomly generated islands compared to the old tropical islands, and multiplayer being a little limited

The review doesn't sound too bad, except for the parts where he says he's played every prior game and then complains about something that's been in every prior game, like having to pick up each sack of bells one at a time.

I want to believe this

so...just ignore the terraforming then

is she retarded?

I don’t. I fucking hate New Leaf

I cannot believe this is real.

quality of life features are soulless
annoying tedious gameplay is as soulful as it gets

>buying Switch games
People do this?

im just excited for all the coooom artwork

>having a community to play with
The only community you need is the villagers in your town

Holidays are being added. I doubt Rover and Kapp'n are showing up at Halloween. And we haven't seen Crazy Redd, Gracie, Shrunk, ect.

I mean it's right, dealing with the natural limitations of your town was one of the good parts of New Leaf. If you wanted to cross a river and not have to walk halfway around the map, you needed to raise the money to build a bridge. It felt like a little quirk of your town that you could fix. If you can move your house, villager's houses, shops, rivers and cliffs, everybody's village is just going to be the exact same optimal village with all the shops in one section with a river and continuous beach where you can farm sea/river fish, and a section for bug catching/villager houses.

>the exact same optimal village with all the shops in one section with a river and continuous beach where you can farm sea/river fish, and a section for bug catching/villager houses.

No because thats lame as fuck and having all your buildings in one area is ugly.

alright retards where the fuck is the NSP. i want to know if this shit is actually good or is all just talk.
t. never played animal crossing

NPC brains everyone. Not our fault you feel the need to make everything soulless.

Except that's false. The creativity will flow for the simple reason that not everything is permanently positioned. I've already got some ideas on what I'd like to see when I have my island in a workable state.

1. Only if you're an absolute min/maxer
2. Who the fuck cares if they're the similar if that's how people want their map designed? who the fuck are you to tell people what layout they can and can't use? Making things less annoying and tedious shouldn't be frowned upon.

It's going to depend a lot on your age, I'd bet. I started playing AC at 12 years old on GCN, it's nostalgic for me. I played the 3DS one for about 2-3 weeks before dropping it. It's more of a nostalgic trip for me than it is something I'll play for months or years on end like some do.

You can do whatever you want with your Animal Crossing map, but it kind of retracts from the charm of "Your" town if you just edit it to make it more convenient.

can you dress up your character in costumes or is it all just normal clothing?

That's the literal opposite. RNG towns aren't charming because you had no say. Customizing it to be exactly what you want is charm. We're humans; we strike out and make the world what we fucking want it to be. Well, whites and Asians did at least.

His critiques are fair. I just find it amusing that the game isn't an 8/10, which is likely closer to the truth. 8/10s are still good. Especially ones that fill a particular niche like Animal Crossing.

I don’t think you know what charming means. This website is too dependent on buzzwords, though I guess buzzword is one too now
