The owl is the only boss I don't like so far, but maybe that's because I haven't figured out how to outplay his annoying dark realm phase where he turns the entire arena pitch black and summons that frustrating ghost-spamming red orb.

Maybe I'll like him once I figure him out, but so far he's incredibly annoying.

yeah that orb bullshit is the most annoying thing in that fight. The owl seems weak to that power up you get from breaking the pots, and I've been speccing into magic which help me a lot.

Maybe there's something wrong with your sound system or speakers? Because even back when I was watching people leak early footage, I heard the boss music clear, which is how I fell in love with the final boss's music and other great themes like that of Azai Nagamasa.

Been using the spider whatever Odachi for like 15 fucking hours.
When do I get some actually cool looking weapons, I hate this fucking upgrade system.

But all the weapons look cool. Plus you can refashion anything into anything else.

So in other words, you only unlock the wooden weapons, which are only good for getting proficiency, when you no longer need them for anything.

I don't know quite at what point you'd be skill point-wise in this game when you can get them, but since I'm already almost done with getting all actives for my main weapons and haven't even gotten the missions unlocked yet, it's likely still the same stupid way, and who knows where the smithing texts come from. Considering they did literally the exact opposite of everything I asked them to do in my feedback response, including fixing this because wooden weapons are still better to use to help fix the game balance, I can't tell if they actually read it and are just inept or malicious, or if it was buried under the mountains of retarded requests that they actually listened to.

i don't remember how this was in nioh 1, when it comes to weapons that are +1 or whatever, can I upgrade weapons I havet to + or are they just weapons that I find?

Finally got my copy of Nioh 2 and I have some questions. Eng or Jap dub? Why the fuck did they put Eng dub as the default? I have to admit it sounds nice though. Koei Tecmo always did have good translators/localizers. As for my other main one, can I change my character and its oni forms after I beat the game? Figured I should try it out with the default Jap racial type and then do my own racial type. Although knowing how long and investing the first Nioh was it may be best to do my own racial type and oni design for this one.

Focus on learning how to close distance and break away quickly, a lot of their attacks have a lot of range and one of their most dangerous moves needs you to just run out of range. They tend to leave their backs open regardless and are slow so as long as you're confident you can do a ton of damage.
Yokai Shift form is based on what Guardian Spirit you have, but you can also customize them a bit individually. You can recustomize everything about your character at any point by going to the Hut on the map screen.

Actually, all the armor sets and character designs are pretty great.

When you land a Burst Counter that knocks the enemy down, you hit triangle again quickly after, while you're still in the Yokai state. Think you can also do Yokai Shift and immediately go into a grapple if available instead of the usual animation.
