Monster Hunter

Did the Commision have ANY reason for slaying Namielle, it seemed completely harmless.

ugly and smells of squid. We need to get rid of it

Where else am I gonna get my squid wig?

>elder dragon
>completely harmless
No.

Those rave lights were keeping everyone up at night.

The Commission had literally no reason to kill anything but that Anjanath that was coming too close to Astera, the Velkhara that attacked Seliana, Xeno'jiiva and Shara. Everything else was just for shits and giggles.

Are DBs shit at cutting off tails, or am I just ass at it? The stupid things never seem to come off.

If DB can reach the tail, DB is very good at cutting it.

DBs are one of the best at cutting tails, assuming they can reach it. Unless the monster has an hp threshold, it should only take a few knockdowns and your demon dance should make quick work of it.

Speaking of thresholds, did Iceborne remove the 'Elder needs to be below 50/40% HP to cut tails/break horns' limitation? It feels like I break Teo's face incredibly quick now.

they wanted to eat some elder dragon ceviche

Assuming I'm not a shitter, how awful is SnS vs safi?

SnS is super fucking strong on a non-shitter's hands, the fuck you smoking

>playing DB
>see a slope or ledge
>monster gets close to it
>mfw

She had cool LEDs so it was your duty as a gamer to harvest them.

But the goal of the safi fight is to break parts. It seems like sns really only does 5/11 of them well.

>every hit in the perfect rush hits for 200+
They've turned my child into a fucking monster. I love it.

the majority of the monsters are completely harmless.

Woah! Hey guys. And welcome to Iceborne.

Deviljhos are invasive species that need to be killed on-sight, and doing so seems to be official guild policy given how pickles are handled in the rest of the games. The Teostra that decided to chill out in the arena was also asking for it.

I mean, I was just talking about the main story. But yes, you raise valid points.

It's not that bad but you're kinda limited to only the legs
Some tremor res might be worth investing in if you're ever attacking the back legs
Things kinda suck when it starts running

The Legiana that threatened the airship and the monsters they killed in the Reach while establishing Seliana were also asking for it. Except maybe the Viper Tobi-Kodachi, I can’t remember why they killed him.

>AAAAA LET ME SLEEP
how many oneshot does the tempered ver have?

The scoutflies were going ballistic with the Viper hanging around, so you needed to hunt it so they'd behave and would work properly in the Reach again.

...to the hunters, who're basically supermen

I don't agree about the monsters in the Reach, but I admit I forgot about the Legiana threatening the airship. That one had to go too.

what's a kulu ya-ku gonna do? or a dodogama? even stuff like a tobi-kadachi aren't really a threat as long as you leave them alone.

Since everything eventually leads to killing Shara, the question of how necessary the Guild's actions were is essentially a question of if unmolested Shara could be beaten by Nergigante, and if not, how much harm Shara would do to the ecosystem. And to a lesser extent, how many things could have been skipped to still arrive at the knowledge of and resources to beat Shara.

>Safi nuke the area
>music stop
K I N O

Copy that.

>Elder dragon
>harmless
I hate how Crapcom underplayed the threat of the low tier shitter elder just to make seem the other big ones more dangerous, cause now we get stupid post like OP.

>kulu
>picks up blastrock
>now a hypermobile siege weapon

>dodogama
>the fat bastard content to waltz up to a brachy/bazel/hunter triple threat and start tackling people and slagging the area
>not a threat

kulu isn't intelligent enough to siege a town with blastrocks, bro

Shara was content to remain hidden and keep pissing everything off until we beat Nerdi up, so it was absolutely necessary for us to do what we did to kill it.

I don't think game will ever cover that part and guessing is just boring

Also removing repel quests was a mistake.

Kulu would absolutely siege a town if they had something it wanted, like the giant stockpile of food.

>food
*eggs

annoying as fuck to fight

i think he'd be more likely to just waltz in and try to take it

Yeah but then we make him drop it. After that we're gonna have infrastructure damage when Kulu spergs out.

>shara just travels around dropping his shit ass mixtape everywhere pissing off the locals
yeah dude had to die

he barely gets to fight back against a group of 4 you think he'd stand a chance against an entire base full of hunters?

user, not everybody is a hunter, and the PC hunter is in a league of their own, capable of keeping the entire Ancient Forest clear while Geralt fights the spooky tree.

there's like 10 hunters walking around astera at any given time and kulu ya-ku isn't some high tier monster that needs an ace hunter to take out

Yes, but those 10 aren't equivalent to 4 PC hunters, which you used first as an example.

As just a general reminder:

Beotodus was hunted to clear the spot for the fleet to land to establish Seliana.
Banbaro was hunted because there was a supply convoy coming from Astera and Banbaro would attack the convoy if left alone.
Viper Tobi-Kadachi was hunted so the Scoutflies would stop spazzing out over it and would return to working properly in the Reach.
Then Nightshade Paolumu and Coral Pukei-Pukei showed up and you were asked to investigate.
Barioth was threatening the Handler and Tracker, who were investigating the shipwreck in the Reach.
Velkhana flying around drew out Nargacuga, Glavenus, Tigrex, and Brachydios, and you were asked to investigate them.
The Tracker then disappeared due to Shara causing seismic activity and she falling in a ravine, and a Shrieking Legiana was preventing the Handler from rescuing her.
The convoy approaching Seliana was getting closer, but now a Fulgar Anjanath was threatening it.
Velkhana's departure from the Elder's Recess drew out Acidic Glavenus and Ebony Odogaron, and you were asked to investigate them.
Then Velkhana attacked Seliana, so you repelled it, tracked it back to its lair, and killed it.
The Admiral wanted to investigate the new Nergigante spines in the Elder's Recess, but a Seething Bazelgeuse was interfering.
A Blackveil Vaal Hazak then appeared in the Ancient Forest, threatening that ecosystem with effluvia.
Namielle was hunted because it was an unknown, undocumented Elder Dragon and the Research Commission wanted information on it. As always, Elder Dragons cannot be taken alive. They can only be repelled, or killed.
Then with all the info found around the New World and the Reach, Shara Ishvalda's nest was determined. Ruiner Nergigante showed up to try and kill Shara, but proved too much effort, so he faked his death against the Sapphire Star and let the hunter defeat Shara, while he would wait for his chance and deliver the killing blow, then fled.

The Handler spotted Ruiner Nergigante and you both followed him to a new chimera-like composite island, which was named the Guiding Lands after Ruiner guided you to it.
Reports came in that a hornless Kirin was wandering around the Reach, and the Admiral asked you to investigate it. After slaying it, Ecological Research determined it came from the Guiding Lands. The Admiral, the Handler, and the Sapphire Star investigated the Guiding Lands to find the culprit was a Rajang, hanging around a previously-unseen volcanic region of the Guiding Lands.
The Handler later noticed a new path in the Guiding Lands that lead to a tundra region, and the Seeker asked you to investigate the reports of a Stygian Zinogre that appeared there.
And finally the Seeker, looking around the Guiding Lands, discovered a mysterious nest filled with Xeno'jiva carapaces. Bringing along the Admiral, the Handler, and the Sapphire Star, they discovered the existence of an unknown red dragon that called the nest home. The Admiral then asked the Sapphire Star with help to do recon on it, and after repelling the monster, were asked to prepare for its return. After fighting it again and slaying it, the Research Commission determined that it is indeed a Xeno'jiva that had reached maturity. The Guild gave it the name Safi'jiva.

Are deviants worth fighting?

At least once.

HOWS THAT SILVER TASTE

Are twisted horns still a drop from HR diablos as well as majestic horns?

I just did AT Xeno and it combines almost everything I hate about hunts.

Sorry I meant for the armor/weapons

like invading monsters and them constantly changing zones?

>try to have a nice hunt in GL
>other monsters constantly try to fuck with me or my target
