Anyone else “working” from home indefinitely?
/workfromhome/
>working
>ever
>ninsoчdo
dis nigga name is patrick
Cлыш дeнeг дaй eптa
More like Patdick
>work in customer service
>even if I did get to work from home I'd be spending my time speaking to customers and intruding into my feelings of safety and peace
I'd rather go out and risk corona if I'm honest
>Fucking around with an Excel 6 minutes
>Play vidyah till I'm off the clock
Brother from another mother
>sharing your name on the internet
>on Yas Forums of all places
get ready
>work clowned around for YEARS with the home office shit
>corona virus panic sets in
>suddenly everyone is allowed to work remote
This is why kikes want you to wageslave at their offices so they can waste your time
I work next door, so technically?
I just go over there 3 nights a week to tard wrangle, and lie on the couch for 8 hours. Will be nice to walk to work and see the streets silent, though.
Your job seems incredibly fucking depressing
Not indefinitely but for the rest of this week.
Taking the opportunity to build the PC I've been putting off since Cyberpunk was delayed. Was going to do it in April when I had time off work but fuck it, I'll do it now and have it ready for Doom and Resi 3.
I was lucky enough to already have a "work from home" job before all this.
All I do is fact check news stories and post on social media to see if people are spreading false information/propaganda. It's bizarre to think I'm like Big brother's little brother
I could if I wanted to, but I like going into the office
It's not in place yet, but I heard that my company just bought hundreds of laptops last week, so I'll be joining the quarantine gang soon.
I'm mostly excited about losing my commute which is 35 minutes one way with no traffic, and an hour one way on a normal day.
>base where i work shut down for the week
>was deemed not mission essential which was a shocker honestly
>animal crossing comes out in 4 days
>got plenty of prep supplies and tp
oh baby
Can't fucking wait for AC. Ordering a switch lite and the game tomorrow at work, and I'll be able to pick it up in the morning.
In a way, all Coronavirus did was give people the first Spring break off they've probably had in years.
I work in a production staff so I have no luck. Meanwhile marketing and upper management all get to work from home.
>tfw navy officer and working in a deserted island
this corona slut will never get me
>immigrant filled factory job
>I would have to literally catch it to get time off
Well, at least if I get infected early I can grab a hospital bed to die in.
It's a sad realization to know that underpaid retail workers are forced to work through all of this when they're probably the most likely to get sick.
>everything cancelled
>gf was contact person and is now quarantined at her parents' house
>I'm all alone for four weeks
>didn't buy enough weed
>mfw find out ex and her bf are self isolated
you know they're just fucking all day, right?
I genuinely couldn't care less. She has a weak immune system and could die.
I also get to fuck my current gf all day if I please
Animal Crossing is going to sell like fucking bonkers with this virus situation. Nintendo should thank their lucky stars.
is that Matt Watson, from SuperMega?
What sort of manchild can't put his toys down for 5 minutes while he's supposed to be working?
this corona virus will probably make remote working the norm after it calms down, it cuts a lot of costs
Holy shit it's Matt from supermega
webdev here. i do frontend development for a company that provides solutions for banks. i dont work freelance but i work part time, being paid full time.
only have to actually go to work like once a month for team meetings. though i might have to take a more active role in the future since we might change our business apps to electron(basically a mini chrome browser that runs web stuff locally and can interface with stuff like notifications, discord is made with it for example) so we have once software with the same codebase that works on every platform and on the web.
i honestly dread that day i might be promoted to some sort of teamlead.
>while he's supposed to be working
You better belief your ass that I'm going to slack off at work if I can get away with it. I'm not working for the sake of making my CEO rich, I'm working so I have a nice house to live in while I play video games
Effort and concentration is for personal goals and hobbies, not work
I sure as hell hope so
So take that time and learn a new skill to improve your value as an employee. You can play with your toys later
universal basic income soon
Or I can play with them now while you toil your time away for a company that doesn't need you
How do I get a work from home job? I've been looking for years but all I ever find are those obvious scams.
based
Another front end dev here.
I spent the day setting up my computer, jacking off and playing video games.
Same shit here, kinda frustrating.
Why isn't it the norm already if it cuts a lot of costs?
>excel spreadsheet
>work
Go into tech if you want to work from home.
Honestly, why isn’t working from Home the norm for office work or at least a more common option?
You would think that companies would love the idea of employees not being late with traffic, all the bills reduced, and no need to rent out such a large office space.
Working from home starting Wednesday.
always am. just put up a podcast and work
>learn a new skill to improve your value as an employee
I'll learn a new skill that I want to learn. I'm already valuable and they already pay me thus. I don't work to work, I work because I have to
I'd rather improve my baking skills then work for works sake
Well, if you're in upper management then it's been the norm for some years now. At most you'll be in the office twice a week to do some shit or another.
>Why isn't it the norm already if it cuts a lot of costs?
It usually doesn't. Sure its cheaper on paper but most people go to work to work with other people. Most people don't work solo because they either don't have to or they actually cant. Going to work also ensures that people usually do the required work and do it correctly.
hi patrick bryant
>You would think that companies would love the idea of employees not being late with traffic, all the bills reduced, and no need to rent out such a large office space.
You ever watched Dilbert?
I work at a software company where everything is passed around and stored on the cloud, and client conversations all wake place over Zoom. Even when I'm at the office I'm just sitting at my desk and pulling things off google Drive or our CRM
I wish. I don't have an office/tech job, which I'm usually thankful for but at times like this I think it would be nice.
How is that shit supposed to work? If I had enough money to stay alive and plugged into the internet I would never work again. Is the assumption that most people could not handle full neet and would keep working regardless?
>get to "work" in an empty building for 8 hours
>"work" is just making sure nothing breaks
Haha time to work on my handheld backlog
I was planning on that but apparently the company can’t afford paying someone to do that and let me go.
Having a bullshit job is a unique kind of torture
>work is important and time consuming juuuust enough to be a pain in the ass for dedicated engineers and other employees who are busy as fuck
>not enough of that kind of work to keep you with shit to do all day
i looked forward to the quarantine up until I got laid off baka
Kinda. The idea is that it is just barely enough income to live on, but just enough. it wont allow for conveniences or luxuries. Which would drive people to do atleast some kind of job supplementary.
Stay at home mom, so my only added "workload" so to speak is my preschooler is home for a few weeks
Can't wait for Animal Crossing on Friday. I received it as a birthday present, so it's physical which I could take or leave. I just hope it shows up at the crack of dawn like Rune Factory 4 did.
UBI would get you the bare minimum. For example you're not living in any high COL areas on UBI. Want to live in the city or at the beach? You better have a damn good job. Living off of UBI would get you a small apartment in a flyover state
UBI is just to keep people in lovable circumstances. Shelter, food and medical care

>UBI comes
>goods become more expensive
>landlord conveniently raises rent
>gotta work anyway
UBI fags thinking it will work without total market control are delusional, because total market control would make UBI redundant in the first place.
>a small apartment in a flyover state
Aw fuck, good luck for the future user
enjoying myself
I work from home all the time but I'd imagine most of my suppliers and customers are going to be running on skeleton staff if not closed entirely for a while. Going to work my way through some backlogged games I think.
I used to work for Video Professor (if you're a 30 year old boomer you remember the commercials I'm sure) and it was work from home. It also paid me incredibly well, considering that it was only the second job I ever had and I spent less than a year at my first job. I literally played vidya and watched anime/bullshitted online all day while having to take the occasional phone call. Shit was amazing.
Then they got sued out of business and that was the end of my comfy work at home experience. I never found another since. ;__;
>EU is closing Europe's borders
>A republican is calling for universal basic income
What is this, opposite day?
>work in warehouse that had a case of coronavirus
>they told us we have two weeks off yet still want us to come in Tuesday morning because some retard wants to drop some shit off that he doesn’t need to for another 4 months
Isn’t this shit supposed to be illegal right now?
I want to fuck bob
not my kind of lifestyle, but that looks comfy as shit user
you sound like someone that's never worked a day in his life
Romney is effectively a Democrat in everything but name
>Stay at home mom
Bullshit
