DON'T PAY FOR WINDOWS (AND GENERAL WINDOWS ADVICE) >rentry.co/fwt
PROCESSORS >Ryzen 2200G/3200G - E-Sports and indie >Ryzen 1600AF/2600 - Budget price/performance >R5 3600/R7 3700X - middle of the road between budget and high perf. great for 144hz >i9-9900K - 240Hz gaming or max FPS >WATCH OUT FOR ZEN 2 PRICE CUTS
RAM >At least 2 sticks for dual channel CPU, 2x8GB is standard >RAM speeds of 3200CL16 or more for Intel recommended, 3600 CL16 or 3466 CL14 for AMD recommended >Micron E die and Samsung B die OC well >AMD B, X, Intel Z chipsets support XMP >RAM on motherboard’s QVL will run at rated speeds >2 DIMM motherboards OC RAM better
GPUs Consider power consumption, driver quality, and game codes AMD HAVE RECENTLY FIXED 90% OF NAVI DRIVER ISSUES AMD GPU'S DON'T WORK WELL WITH EMULATORS >Used RX570/RX580 - budget 1080p, from a place with buyer protection >GTX1650 Super/RX 590 - budget 1080p >GTX1660 Super - budget 1080p 144Hz ( LOOK FOR TI MODELS AT THE SAME PRICE ie. open box, sales and ) >RX5600XT/RTX2060 - good for 1080p 144Hz >RX5700/XT - best price/performance. DO NOT BUY BLOWER MODELS OF THE XT >RTX2070 Super - 1440p/budget 4k >RTX2080 Ti - second best, but expensive >RTX TITAN - best single GPU out there, can buy a used car for the price
Case and cooling >Many AIOs do not outperform large air coolers, open loops cost beyond diminishing returns >Mesh fronts typically improve airflow and temperature >Static pressure fans recommended for poorly ventilated cases >Tempered Glass side panels are good looking but EXTREMELY fragile and carry a risk of spontaneous explosion, handle with extreme caution and frequently check for cracks and scratches.
PSU >Running a PSU near its capacity leads to more heat and higher fan RPM. Premium units offer better protection, regulation and noise. Check reviews with actual testing >great and professional reviews can be found on jonnyguru.com

So i just got this bitch for $120 a few weeks ago, for some reason speccy doesn't recognize the brand and says it only has 4gb of memory while CPU-Z recognizes it and read the 8 gigs.
do any of you guys have any experiences with this card? i saw a mild performance jump from a 1060 3gb to this but games like Borderlands 3 and Vermintide 2 run like complete and utter SHIT (then again, i have an i7 3770 non-k so maybe the CPU is bottlenecking it), but it runs most stuff well (Ultra 60/90 @ 1080p)
you may have gotten scammed, check the PCB for additional info, you can also try reflashing the card BIOS
Xavier Phillips
every game that has a vram counter do recognize the 8 gigs though.
Alexander Martinez
games pull the cards VRAM amount from the card BIOS, I'd still check the PCB
Brayden Bennett
speccy doesn't read my 1080Ti properly either; wouldn't worry about it.
Gabriel Carter
You can also try looking up the serial number and model number, the model itself may have underlying issues, this was the case with EVGA's early production 1070's.
What’s the point in building a PC when the Sexbox is equal to 3700x in CPU power and efficiency?
Brandon Perez
>free (pirated) games >more games (certain genres like grand strategy and VR are pretty much nonexistent on consoles) >can use for work related stuff >continious hardware development, no need to wait 8 years for next gen hardware >high refresh rates >etc... all these
I already saved like 5000$ just by pirating games

>trivial questions i'm already mostly decided on but would like a second opinion i considered getting an nzxt kraken water cooler because is looks cool. remind me one last time that it's a gimmick and totally unnecessary. also storage wise, i have a second, identical ssd at 500gb that i have yet to put in, should i just run two ssd or save up and buy a larger one later?
>NZXT Kraken fucking terrible, AIO's break really easily whereas you can keep a good air cooler for literal decades the Noctua NH-D15 and Scythe FUMA2 are both really good coolers and good lookers, consider those if you haven't already
Aiden Parker
I want to buy a 2070 Super, but dont know which one. I saw some tripple Fan GPU's from Gigabyte, but i heard, that the Fans are loud. Any recommendations?

>triple fan should be fine, though I'd make sure you have some sort of customer protection, Gigabyte used to be great, but fell from grace like 4 years ago due to shitty customer support and shitty design of their motherboards and GPU coolers, check a professional review
pcpartpicker.com/product/Lbhj4D/cryorig-cpu-cooler-c7 currently using this because i like the sleek design and muh color scheme. idles at 32-38. pretty dang quiet, too. even under load. i'm pretty set, it's just good to know that water cooling isn't worth it. i do want to grab a couple case fans at some point to fill some empty space in the window. will having better case airflow noticeably improve anything? my last case was an hulking antec with a shit ton of stock fans, so i never had to worry. i personally prefer msi products. never been let down. get the card you want, it's always possible to get aftermarket gpu fans if it's really a problem.
Just wait for the new Xbox to drop so you can pick it up.
Charles Turner
Chinese bootleg. that's why you got it do cheap, nigger.
Leo Reed
Don't trust speccy for reading certain things properly.
Hunter Jones
I'd go for the Windforce that's a pretty standard cooler, nothing too fancy but good enough to keep your avarage ryzen 7 cool, even when OC'd, no need to change it
Jason Morales
you didn't get scammed, speccy thinks my 2070 is 4gb also.
Joshua Roberts
I had one of those Zalman coolers back in the day. Loved it. Then everyone moved to these fucking tower coolers that look like garbage.
Cooper Carter
Download GPU-Z and compare what it says about your card with actual 1070's. If it all matches up, it's more then likely just your CPU holding you back.
Samuel Jones
I play Grand Strategy Autism Simulators which are pretty much nonexistent on consoles, I also like piracy.

Dear Lord, I hate the current monitor market. I've been through VA and IPS monitors alike and I'm still not sure if I hate ghosting or IPS glow the most. There's just no way around having to make some sacrifice no matter what you do.

My GPU recently died, I was able to revive it using pic related method but I know I'm on borrowed time with it now. What's the best deal for $80-100 right now? I just need something to last me until after the new gens are out and I know what I'm upgrading to for sure.
>being so assblasted over a single non-shit thread on this board edgy zoomers and niggers really did kill this site, it was always bad, but never THIS bad see you in hell niggers, im going to 8kun

I've found that classified ads give the best deals for computers and gpus

do it yourself faggot, here, I'll even give you the means to do it
anyone here can help me out? i just bought a new gaming pc with water cooling, but the pump seems to be making a slight buzzing sound is this normal or am i fucked? it's not that loud but it's pretty annoying it's not a rattling or bubbles sound or anything so i don't think it has anything to do with air, but could be wrong
Levi Ward
>do it yourself faggot, here, I'll even give you the means to do it
>just get it replaced on warranty the thing is, i'm not experienced enough with this stuff to know if it's a fault or not the guy who built my pc (who is also a good friend of mine) told me this is perfectly normal and could even go away over time, but i somewhat doubt it
Luis Hill
>literal fucking hivemind tier, get a better meme retard I can feel the seethe
It's normal. I bought my EVGA 1080 Ti directly from EVGA and speccy also reports 3071MB. It's the way certain programs read the ram, every game recognizes it has 11GB, windows task manager says it has 19GB. It's something to do with the type of ram it is (GDDR5) but all you need to know is everything will report and read the amount in a different dialect.

3000 series is literally just gonna be a 10-20% power increase at double the price of a 2080ti And knowing Jewvidia the 1000 and 2000 series cards will get a piss poor, if at all, price drop
