I LOVE the original Layton series, but the game about his daughter was awful. I'm sure it made sense as a children's mystery-of-the-week anime show but the game itself was embarrassingly boring and the puzzles made even less sense than usual.

Why didn't they just make a Luke or Emmy game? Or, better yet, how about a fucking straight sequel to the third one?

Yeah, it wasn't that great, but I got it for 20 bucks so whatever.
The reason is the writer died, and the game was made for phones originally, hence the episodic nature.

Yeah the new game wasn't that good, probably because the original puzzle master, Akira Tago, died before the game entered production.
I do have 70 puzzles from Katrielle's game to post so, let's see what Yas Forums thinks about them.

The worst part of Katrielle's puzzles is that very often they just don't tell you the answer even afterwards. Or they tell you answers that make zero sense. At least that was my take away.

But Katrielle is fucking hot, can't deny that.

You could tell with the last Professor Layton game just how much it missed the original puzzle master. Way too many bullshit trick questions. The original puzzle master used them sparingly and made the puzzles impossible to even get to an answer using legitimate techniques.

I remember one bullshit puzzle where it was something like "how many triangles on show here". Had to use a superhint because you had to double the number of triangles on a flag (because it had the same design on both sides).

Oh, I get it, she only turns it when it all hits the bottom, but she doesn't have to turn it immediately? She turns over the 5 one, then turns over the 3 one two minutes in. So 5 minutes if the sand starts at the bottom, but 10 minutes if the sand starts all up at the top.

What's the solution to #2? How do you avoid checking all the values if the minimum can be anywhere?

of course, because in THIS particular fucking puzzle there's a RULE that they have to both initially start at the same time despite that not being specifically stated but in OTHER puzzles we can just do WHATEVER THE FUCK WE WANT and invalidate the obvious, mathematical solution because WHY THE FUCK NOT RIGHT
