Even within an element, certain weapons have different skills. For instance, Water has Hoarfrost, Ezil, and so on. Ezil skills are boosted by the Ezil Skill Boost, and Hoarfrost skills are boosted by the Water Skill boost.

read the weapon skills
some weapons get put on your grid because they have more atk and hp stats but not a skill that gets buffed by being in your grid
meaining that them having more atk means less since the skill from the weapon would buff your overall dps
i don't know if the auto option on versus work like that but the auto on the gacha is shit as fuck you should put weapons that buff the same skill of your main hand in versus i think
still can't really decide which one is better since i didn't play much of the rpg mode
