me fucking yourt mother
Beating every ending of Contra the Hard corps on no-damage + no-upgrades runs when I was 7
Playing SNES with my older brother while abusive parents fight and yell in the other room.
playing a generic racing game and twisted metal with my father, in the racing game he raced pass me and I was pissed
Beating Yoshi's Island
Probably seeing Mega Man 2's opening for the first time. Up to that game, I was used to games starting abruptly at the title screen with a quick jingle or just no music at all so seeing something with a lot of build-up to something so energetic and cathartic was quite a new experience.
My ninth birthday. I really wanted SMB3. I opened all my presents and didn't get it. Then my parents gave me one last present. I tear off the wrapping paper, and it's a box of fucking Honey Nut Cheerios. I'm disappointed, but then my parents tell me to open the box. Inside is SMB3. I must have been pretty dumb because they got me. I was so happy I did a little dance right there. My folks loved it. Then I played my game.
It was a great game. It was a nice day.
Learning how to make new bases in alpha centauri
Making and playing custom maps with my brother in Jetpack.
playing halo CE bro-op with my uncle
this but with zelda
Getting SMB3 for christmas when I was 5.
This was the last christmas present I'd ever get, because my mom went completely nuts and started physically and emotionally abusing me simply because I wasn't as smart as she thought she was.
probably 100%:ing tomba 1 without knowing how to read and without knowing english
>me and cousins coming together when moms meet up
>we would always show off new games to each other and playing them all day
>every day would end with one of us begging our moms to buy each others games
d a m n i miss this even though it got me into trouble once
Playing MW2 :)
>Seeing the world map in SMB3 for the first time
>Getting ps1 in my room, first game was either Croc 2 or Spyro 2
>Hearing there are 3D GTA games and playing them at friend's house
>Getting my own Gameboy (advance) and catching up with Pokemon games
>Making my own maps in Stronghold, also enjoyed building mode in Sims just as much
>First exploring membership areas in Runescape
>Getting really into the story in FFX when my english as secondary language became just good enough to follow it
can anybody post the Yas Forums one? I've been looking for it
>December 98.
>Mother let me choose one (1) game at a local electronic store.
>Nothing really caught my eye.
>Mom's knows jack shit about vidya, but grabs Ocarina Of Time and asks if that might be cool.
>"You can ride horses and stuff!"
>Get it. Don't realize that it's a sequel to that "Link's game" I'd played on NES.
>Read manual while driving back home.
>Fascinated by the world map and all the features, this game's gonna be huge!
>3 months later, finally beat it for the first time.
>Everyone I knew wanted to play it soon after.
playing TimeSplitters 2 and Melee with my two brothers back in the day
those infection maps were penultimate fun, fucking around in challenge modes too trying to get all the platinum trophies, and unlocking characters in Melee without using a guide or even knowing who's in the game
never getting those feels back
Probably being hyped for Vice City, then getting it late at night with my older brothers and being extremely satisfied with it. Still my favourite one in the series.
Imagine making this thread in 2028 and asking the same question and without fail someone will say fortnite or minecraft
>There are people browsing right now that had GTAV as their first game
I have a few
>getting Crash Bandicoot 2 back in christmas 1999
>downloading snes9x and a rom pack from some random DC++ hub and starting Final Fantasy 6 for the first time still haven't beat it, though
>printing out PS1 Colin Mcrae Rally cheat codes and trying them out with my brother
take me back
>Printing cheat codes
I had to remember the cheatcodes from a book and by god I still remember the codes for all the weapons in GTA3 and vice city and some other shit like the tank.
Good question.
Probably playing games on the Wii
Too many to count. Videogames are a blast.
Regularly playing Runescape at the university's library with a homeless guy as a kid. Looking back on it I'm pretty lucky he wasn't some sort of predator.
Playing super mario bros and tetris and mega man on the NES with my mom and dad.
When I realized a whole day had flown by playing roller coaster tycoon and it didn't even feel like anything at all.
Me and friends playing Mortal Kombat II on Genesis and showing off fatalities
Probably me and my brothers getting my mom to play Road Rash 3 on genesis, my mom never plays video games so that was super cool
Playing Smash N64 with friends and family til I got blisters, doing all-nighters playing FF VIII during summer vacation
Much later but Wii Sports (was about 17 years old) got me my 3 brothers and both parents to play video games together for the first time ever, not even the biggest Nintendo fan but I gotta thank Nintendo or at least Iwata for that memory
we had to write codes down before we got our printer. I still have that little code booklet buried under a mountain of garbage somewhere around here. we had san andreas codes on it as well but the only one I remember is the jetpack code
They lied, there are no swamps in Vice City
Eating dominoes and playing Melee with cousin
Playing Pokemon Firered while mom and dad argue in the background for the umpteenth time
Buying a subway footlong and getting an early code access for Uncharted 3 multiplayer. Early UC3 mp was fun before updates fucked it up.
I also remember staying home from school for a week because I broke my collar bone playing soccer. I had to wear a sling and I recall going to Kmart to buy Metroid Prime Trilogy and playing Metroid Prime with a fucked up shoulder. Good times
>eating dominoes
Do americans really
Playing Mario 64 on Christmas day. I got up to the first fight with Bowser, beat him and thought I finished the game only to find out there was much more.
>have snes and Zelda alttp
>explore that game like it's skyrim
>looking at every nook and cranny
>every corner of the map
>finding paths and doors I can yet get past
Those were the days.
My sister and I playing conkers bad fur day single and multiplayer together on the n64 every morning when we would wake up. Nothing will ever come close to that feeling.
There was at one point in development, but it was cut at some point during the 9 months it was developed.
There's a surprisingly large amount of stuff cut from the game, I'm guessing R* cut it down significantly to get the game out in time for xmas 2002 and before the wave of GTA clones came out to upstage GTA III.
Bit of a shame really, I really wish VC got to have a longer development cycle, the second island for example seems extremely rushed.
>little sister is your first and only sexual experience
too real. fuck!
JUST
He's probably a Finn (or from somewhere where they are imported) who means these.
post the Yas Forums one
cunny
i like fazermints
>Dominos
>Subway footlong
He's a burger, Dominos is a pizza place.
Long one, sorry
>8 or 9 years old
>Have OoT out on rental for about 2 weeks now
>This is the biggest game I've ever played up to this point
>Finally make it to Ganondorf
>Beat his first form without much trouble
>So fucking hyped up, that when you have to run down the tower with Zelda, my nose fucking BURSTS with blood
>Have always had problems with my nose, so I just pause the game and tell my parents that my nose is bleeding
>After about 15 minutes they check on me in the bathroom
>Nose is still bleeding like mad, I'm beginning to get a bit scared because normally it doesn't take this long to stop
>Parents sit with me to calm me down and pinch my nose for me
>Some time passes and now my parents are getting nervous
>They start arguing
>I start crying
>Now there's even more blood
>Dad takes cloth away
>Blood streams out and soaks my white Spiderman pyjamas
>They just give me an entire towel and start the car and drive me to the hospital
>I'm not crying anymore but still really scared
>By the time we got to the hospital, my pjs are now red with blood
>Person at ER (only part open at night) sees me covered in blood and immediately pages a doctor and I immediately get a room
>Few minutes later doctor comes in, but at this point it's finally beginning to slow down and clot
>He just holds an ice pack to my nose and asks me what I was doing, if I was picking my nose or anything
>"I WAS I WAS FIGHTING GANONDORF IN ZELDA AND AND AND I BEAT HIM AND WE HAD TO TO RUN DOWN THE TOWER AND"
>With every word I spit a bit more blood on his face
>Eventually they let me go home with my very own ice pack that had happy kitties on it
>Go back to game as parents argue, unpause, HOLY FUCK IT'S GANON
I uh...also didn't change the pjs until after I beat Ganon because I was so focused on getting back to the game and my parents were too busy fighting to realize.
None of them compare to my modern day vidya experiences. I'm glad I'm not a nostalgiafag. I genuinely believe that I am intellectually superior to any nostalgiafag.
Playing the OG Star Wars Battlefront in my Elementary years
Playing motorcross madness 2 and doing stupid shit like going up the cliff 20 times in a row just to get shot off over and over
youtube.com
I hope someone else here experienced this
I was like 7 years old and i got a NES and Startropics game, finally got to the submarine part then the robot asks you for the code in the letter sent by the doc.
Which letter i asked myself? Then i checkeed the game box and there it was, the cooler part was that the code was only seen if you put the letter in the water.
One of the coolest merchandise things i ever seen, also it was a smart anti piracy move for that time
Here pic related
Playing Star Ocean The Second Story in middle school.
snowed in during winter break, finally managed to find my way through maridia and get the space jump
Minecraft may be shit but I've built genuine irreplaceable memories in that game.
Discovering all of those pirated hentai games.
