That's not exactly a fair match. Rean progressed through four game while Byleth has only one. If cold steel 1 end Rean fight with Byleth, he would beat Rean without even his time powers.

Really? Both Male Byleth and Rean outfits are appropirate for their roles. Mercenary and an officer. And I saw many people complained about Female byleth's outfit saying they're atrocious. And I can see that she doesn't look neither like a teacher nor mercenary.

17 and 18 year olds are recruited to join the military every day in real life, and back in older times they’d have 15 year olds fighting wars. It’s not hard to believe rich families in fantasy worlds dominated by this culture and lifestyle would send their young adults to get the highest standard of learning at these officer academies. Commanding Officers are a big deal. Much better than having your child forced to be one of the nameless mooks who are killed in battle.
