I just bought and beat both of the Dark Souls 3 DLCs after four years of Yas Forums's shilling and I still have to insist that Nameless King is objectively the best boss.
He is the only one which demands that the player adapt to a new playstyle. People will insist that Friede and Gael are 10/10 bosses, but they can be conquered using the same tactics and moves that you've beaten the entire rest of the game with.
>Roll roll roll R1 R1 *tank damage and take a sippy* roll roll roll R1 R1...
Nameless King deems this unacceptable and buttfucks you if you try to panic roll at all during the fight. You MUST learn his movements/patterns and learn how to "dance" between them or else you'll get killed almost instantaneously. While all of the other bosses are merely an endurance test, Nameless is a true test of reflex, adaptation and, dare I say, skill.
pre-patch this boss was so good, they ruined him and made him way less aggressive though. I consider him to be a very readable boss due to his timed attacks.
Daniel Hall
He didn't have timed attacks pre-patch, he would purposefully delay all his shit and input read to get cheap as fuck hits in, which was a massive problem in DaS3 in general.
Liam King
He's a very readable boss but his aggression actually made rolling at the right time critical, which of course is why they nerfed him.
Thomas Evans
The best fight in this game was that fire demon in the settlement. Wish he had more health though
Luis Roberts
Yeah I think he's one of the better designed fights. There's no real easy way of cheesing him and it took me dozens of tries before I had his moveset memorized. Once I beat him the rest of the game was a cake walk.
Jayden Reed
So you beat him pressing which button again?
Jordan Wright
Agreed. You can't roll spam him the same way you can roll spam all of DS3.
Daniel Lewis
>There's no real easy way of cheesing him It's called dorhy's gnawing.
Levi Richardson
Really? Just get Dragonslayer Greatshield and fight gets on infant level.
Robert Walker
While Friede is literally rollspam sippy sippy, Gael still demands good roll timing and is a test of skill rather than bullshitting. The main Ringed City bosses follow Nameless King in this regard, and are also more kino than NK.
Liam Collins
Gael is too easy and map is just too big so you can dodge effortlessly without any fear of being stuck in the wall.
Friede's third transformation is kino.
Colton King
>You MUST learn his movements/patterns Except that I just used my fully upgraded Black Knight Shield and just blocked? I think I got him like 2nd or 3rd try. The hard part was figuring out the first phase because the camera actively fights against you in that fight serving as an extra boss.
Evan Roberts
I already knew about the third phase before I played it, but I still don't get what people thought was so cool about it. Was there something in previous games regarding a "darkflame" that it was a callback to or something?
John Phillips
It's "flashy" transformation. I liked DB when I was a kid, so it looks like some dark SS for me.
Evan Price
The Nameless King is as easy as the rest of them, and I always beat him on the first try. There's no "endurance" to be had in the fight. You rape the dragon in 30 seconds and then the boss itself.
It's mostly an "Oh shit" moment, you go through 2 phases, you get a reward and let your guard down, and then bam, for the first time ever a third phase
Asher Flores
The dragonslayer armor greatshield makes this fight trivial it has 95% lightning resist you can block all his attacks and chip away at him, being le epic roll spammer is objectively worse.
Aiden Long
I'm playing through ringed city right now and the demon prince is crushing my brittle pyromancer bones
That fight was kino af, but gael is still the epitome of a boss fight. I'm yet to see a bossfight that really puts everything you've learned to the test like gael did, and all his transformations were epic.
William Campbell
Isshin is literally sekiro's final skillcheck
Jordan Thomas
>completely trivializes your boss I mean it makes sense, but holy fuck does it make his fight a joke.
Nameless is the best boss in the base game, and I think only rivaled by Gael including the DLC. Twin Princes, Midir, THE CHAMP, and Pope Sully are also great bosses. Nameless is certainly a top 5 Dark Souls bosses.
Don't compare Isshin to Dark Souls' bosses, it's not fair user.
James Flores
t. hesitator
Jaxon Morgan
Sekiro bosses do that shit constantly. Genichiro, butterlfy, old man with a gun...
Evan Carter
when it's time to panic press l1, i never hesitate, buddy.
Adrian Ramirez
How the hell did you beat Isshin phase one through pure l1 smashing? If you do that, he just stays back and recovers posture.
Luis Baker
As cool as Isshin was, only phase 2 was difficult, which made the fight have this weird curve to it. While gael goes from fuck, this battleplace is pretty meaningful, to fuck, I'm fightimg the Dark Soul itself to fuck fuck fuck fuck, holy shit, what, fuck, please die fuck fuck fuck.
Ian Mitchell
not pure mashing. a mix of mashing and attacking. his posture is really bad compared to other bosses like owl. I'm sure a good number of presses were lucky deflects too.
Ryder Kelly
Phase one is just pure joy to fight though.
Oliver Phillips
Looks like you're overdramatizing gael a little bit. I just got a sad feel from him since it felt like I was fighting an old friend.
I'd be lying if I said it wasn't, Isshin was a masterpiece. I just liked gael more due to circumstances (specced into big 2h's and got the paired gs right before, ng+3 while underleveled for pvp purposes) and because of how well the entire story wrapped up with his tale.
Benjamin Murphy
Was Gael in Dark Souls 1/2?
Brandon Green
You for real? Of all Ringed City bosses, he is the most easiest.
Parker Brown
I played offline when I tackled the Spear of the Church boss. Are human invaders more difficult to fight as opposed to the NPC Painting Guardian?
Brayden Martin
Spear is much easier than Gael.
Henry Lewis
not if you had to fight a bunch of cheap pvp nerds
Ethan Carter
>As cool as Isshin was, only phase 2 was difficult, which made the fight have this weird curve to it. I honestlyt think Genichiro/Isshin Sword Saint and Emma/Issshin Ashina are more consistent than Gael. Each phase has a noticeable increase in difficulty, except Isshin Sword Saint phase 3. Whereas Gael's first phase is a joke, you have a huge spike into the second phase, and a barely noticeable spike for phase 3.
Robert Brown
Only against NPC or some noob (or if you go in with support like a fag).
Andrew White
Untrue, I also recently played through all of Dark Souls 3 and the two DLCs for the first time and I steamrolled absolutely everything with the same singular strategy of hurling fireballs at it until it dies.
>Are human invaders more difficult to fight as opposed to the NPC Painting Guardian? Depends on the player you summon, but it's usually harder. The NPC (like all player style NPCs) is really easy to beat with certain weapon types, like GS, UGS, Halberds etc. NPCs don't deal with long range melee weapons well.
Luis Thomas
It's funny how she complained about backseat drivers in her last video when she no way in hell would know about using a certain pellet for a boss fight.
bet another patreon will drop her another 50 embers soon, since she's running out
Grayson Thomas
Yeah except for the phase transition cutscene where you see the nameless king buff his weapon with lightning and do a big lightning explosion and the e-thot said "oh yeah lightning" and then uses the pellet. Come on man, that shit isn't hard to figure out no matter how female you are.
Mason Anderson
Anything from FromSoft is Yas Forumseddit
Asher Harris
nope, just shoehorned in for last minute dlc
Jaxon Kelly
i think it would of been way lamer if he was in 1 and or 2 though
I enjoyed NK. One of the few (or maybe only) fights in the game where I can remember switching between the types of magic for offense in my caster build. It was great fun to dunk the dragon with lightning stake and then hurl fireballs in his face while my two-shot ass barely had the safety net of tears of denial.
Kayden Gonzalez
Can someone post that picture of that Japanese Demon's Souls girl wearing armor with her hands on her cheeks?
I think there was a webm or video of her parrying with a shield too.
Thanks.
Joe
Sebastian Rodriguez
Thanks for the advice user, killed him by stabbing his fucking skull
